“I’ve had hundreds of fresh spring rolls in my life from a bunch of different places around the US… this is by far the best place. Sometimes I order them a couple times a week. You can get them with peanut sauce or their amazing special sauce (which I do) The pho is amazing too and also the fresh coconuts“

“With prices going up, this is still a local staple at 6 something a sandwich. He packs my Bacon Bahn Mi with a good amount of meat! No cutting corners here :)
When I used to work in the area, I'd get their lunch plates they have wrapped up in the open fridge. Viet BBQ Chicken, Fried Egg Roll, and rice noodles are my go-to.
They also serve noodle soup, which a friend of mine way back said tasted like her mom's, very good; Chicken Pho.
Parking: If lot is filled there's always plenty of street parking“

“Grabbed some hot pho on a rainy day. Also had their monthly special: spicy beef noodle soup and grilled pork/shrimp wrap rolls. Everything was delicious. They are very generous with meat portions and even the bean sprouts/thai basil were very fresh. 5%off if you pay cash. Will come back.“

“Circling back even though I’ve reviewed before, but just had the pork banh mi, banh mi thit nuong. This might be one of the best banh mi I’ve ever had. Perfectly crispy french roll, and the pork was tender and juicy with a nice sauce to complement. Very reasonable pricing too, although I normally get pho here I will certainly get a banh mi again!“

“OMG just go! Go for takeout. Go eat there and be patient. The food is outstanding. So many beautiful flavors. My favorites are the ginger chicken (sumptuous like stew, with rice), fried rice (totally surprised us how rich and delicious and tender it is), THE WINGS (BEST in bay), chicken salad (it's basically chicken, not a salad with some chicken). Everything we've tried is sooooooooooo good! Festive atmosphere fun crowd nice patio!“

“Holy Basil is one of our absolute favorite places to get delivery from in the Bay Area. Our kids are addicted to the bao buns and garlic noodles. I'm obsessed with the tofu vermicelli. Nothing is cozier on a cold day than their Chili Lemongrass soup. Nothing is more refreshing on a hot day than their fresh rolls and ginger lemonade. We love Holy Basil food!“

“Monsoon had really great Korean fried chicken chicken wings and the full portion was a nice healthy amount. They had beers available and it’s conveniently located right on Piedmont Avenue! Perfect place to hit right before the movies and lots of dessert options nearby.“

“I went to Kim’s Cafe and Sandwiches for the first time yesterday and had their Turmeric Noodle Soup. It was one of the best soups I’ve ever had, and I can’t wait to go back. Customer service was great and there were many open tables available. Thank you!“

“Monster Pho is an absolute gem, both in terms of food + value, and community support; they've just announced that until SNAP benefits are fully restored, kids under 12 can get pho for free if you show them your SNAP card (and a discount for parents, but no purchase necessary for the kids' pho).
I could not be prouder or more grateful to have a business like this in our area. Get some delicious food and support their community efforts! I love their bahn mi, it's definitely one of the best values in the area, and I've never had to wait long for take out (can't speak to dine-in service but I would guess it's also fab).“

“Don’t sleep on Mon Suprette, it’s such a gem in the neighborhood!!
Love picking up food and coffee to go there, everything is so good. The spring rolls, banh mi, PANDAN waffle, and of course our go to viet iced coffee. Their che is also a treat 😋
So glad we have this on Piedmont ave. Khanh and her team are the best 🫶“

“Food is delicious. Their bahn mi sandwiches have quality flavor and are packed generously with meat and veggies. When I ordered it, they did communicate to me it would take long about 25 mins. However I did end up waiting about 35-40 mins. Order ahead of time if you're in a rush. I noticed other people were waiting a while for their food as well. There was only one person taking orders and delivering food. They are family owned and ran. I hope they can hire more people to make it run more efficiently.I do like how they have tofu bahn mi as an option! Most bahn mi places don't offer that. The seats seem scattered. However there is various options for seating which is good for large groups. I would come back, but probably order ahead of time!“

“This place is absolutely phenomenal! I got the chicken pho, which had a marinated chicken option. Soup broth was very tasty. My husband got the banh mi combo, which comes with a broth soup and an imperial roll. They also have a nice juicer and makes refreshing fruit/veggie juices to round the meal out. I got the Refresher juice which has cucumber, Apple, mint. Service was great too! A lot of natural light in the restaurant. Good vibes.“
“Genuinely, everything I got was good. We’re visiting from NYC and now I gotta go tell them there’s major competition! Bread in the banh mi was perfect, all the grilled meat was perfectly grilled and not even remotely dry, everything was fresh, house made sriracha and chili sauce. Best sea salt creme coffee I’ve had in years. Very friendly service, they even offered free ube ice cream which I ended up buying because it was so good!!“

“This place is so good, I’ve had the beef pho twice and it’s hits every time. Truly so good. The gentleman at the front welcomes everyone and is very nice. Extremely fast service. You should take your friends and coworkers here for lunch :-)“

“Can't rly give atmosphere 5 stars because it's takeout only but the wife and I love this place! Banh mi is excellent, as are the bowls of whatever. I don't think there's anything the owner chef woman can't make well. She used to run 3 restaurants! Also she is an angel. Go there for the owner chef woman if nothing else. Also egg rolls and crab rangoon are yummy.

“The luncheon meal served to me was catered and was delivered promptly to our dinning location with a group of twenty people celebrating two birthdays. The order was still hot from its preparation and arrived with all necessary flatware along with a celebratory and festive attitude. The catered food was roasted chicken thigh and leg served with tender cabbage and perfectly steamed fluffy white rice. The chicken had an appealing medium roasted brown color prepared with what I could taste as soy based seasoning, slight sweetness and other enhancing aromatic flavors. The chicken was roasted to an ideal doneness and was tender and juicy, flavorful, easy to cut and of a sizable quantity. The gracious lady appearing with the catered order was courteous and kind, prompt as I mentioned and made sure the delivery was as exactly requested. The entire experience was positive, the roasted chicken was delicious, it all went smoothly and I would definitely suggested Camille Restaurant to others.“

“Super fresh banh mi with organic tofu! (4/5 Green Stars)
I wish I had tried this place earlier! I had the banh mi with organic tofu for lunch and the total cost, including tax and a 20% tip was $10.50! I was ravenous and had some concerns that it may not be enough – or come fast enough! However, the lady who took my order prepped the sandwich in as much time as it took me to take a few photos. Also, there was really a lot of tofu in the sandwich – two thick layers of it – so in the end it was pretty darn filling.
There were several memorable things about the sandwich, which I ate without any distraction even though I would normally read while eating. The bread was at a perfect state of crispiness – like a proper French roll – very light and also lightly toasted. The crunchy veggies – the daikon in particular, added a freshness to it that counterbalanced the umami of soy and tofu. I’ve only had a couple of banh mi sandwiches in my time but this one was not only the best so far but has also set a pretty high bar to measure others against.
I’m giving the Sidewalk Street Food 4/5 Green Stars for social and environmental impact. It’s a woman-owned and run business that offers affordable food in a fairly unaffordable neighborhood. Every dish option – banh mi, salad bowl, pho, and spring rolls all had a tofu option. Some of the other options – chicken and pork – are among the more sustainable choices for meat eaters. However, beef and shrimp are among the worst options Sidewalk loses a star for that. My sandwich was pretty much zero-waste in that it was wrapped in a sheet of paper and delivered in a reusable basket.“

“Tigon is excellent, above par, a hidden gem on San Pablo. I've probably been here 5-6 times now with my fiance. She gets the same thing every time: Catfish Sweet and Sour Soup and she swears it gets better every single time. On the other hand, I try something new every time because each dish I've had has been better than the last. Catfish Claypot, Pho, and Papaya Salad are all big hitters.“

“The pho has a very New York, homemade flavor — absolutely love it. It’s rich, comforting, and hits all the right notes. With all due respect, though, I’d recommend sticking to the main dishes. The desserts don’t quite match the quality of the meals.“

“This was my first visit, and since it was a rainy day, I decided to try their pho. There’s something comforting about a warm bowl of soup on a cold, wet day. The soup had a rich, deep flavor that was enjoyable, but not remarkable. For comparison, my favorite pho spot is still Pho Vi Hoa in Palo Alto, which I feel has more balanced and complex flavors.
Ordering here was straightforward. You place your order at the counter, and the staff delivers your food to the table. The service was efficient and friendly, which added to the overall experience.
For starters, I ordered A2: Fresh Shrimp Spring Rolls. They were fresh, light, and paired well with the accompanying peanut dipping sauce. As for the main dish, I went with the Rare Steak Pho, adding extra noodles for $2. While the broth and rare steak were satisfying, I realized the portion of noodles was already quite generous without the extra. If you’re someone with a hearty appetite, you’ll likely find the regular portion sufficient.
Next time, I’ll skip the extra noodles and focus on the base dish. It’s a solid spot for a comforting bowl of pho, but I’d still rank it below my go-to pho spot in Palo Alto.“

“I’ve visited Co Nam twice so far and really enjoyed both experiences. The food is excellent, with some uniquely creative dishes. I’ve never had ribs covered in sesame seeds before, and they were surprisingly delicious. The curry is a personal favorite.
I also appreciated the great conversation with Daniel, the bartender, who’s incredibly knowledgeable about a wide range of drinks.
I’d definitely go again!“

“No-frills, small pho shop that offers quality noodles and fast service. They have reasonable prices for the area ($17 per bowl) and usually plenty of seating.
The downside is they don't provide glasses of water and instead give you water bottles if you ask for water.
Very friendly and attentive staff.“

“The food here is great. But, I've reached the limit on what my pocketbook can Justify for a bowl of broth. I started going here pre-pandemic, but since then the cost has increased twice. The cost is almost double what it was. I had the small seafood pho with tip was 23.00. Really not a lot of seafood either to justify it. Go, enjoy your meal. But expect to pay more then you would expect.“

“We visited Pho 1 Express for dinner and ordered the Bun Bo Hue (T2), Combo Rice Plate (#35), and a Mango Smoothie with boba. The Bun Bo Hue was decent but lacked the bold flavor I was expecting. I’ll likely try a different dish next time. The Combo Rice Plate was enjoyable—our guest liked it a lot. The Mango Smoothie, however, tasted like it might have been made with canned ingredients, so I wouldn’t order it again. Overall, the food was good, and the dining experience was pleasant.“

“Food is good but the lady who serves the food and who is at the cash counter doesn’t seems to care much. The lady who cleans the table smiles and talks in polite manner. The restaurant has a plenty of sitting capacity and it’s like L shape, so you have to walk to other side to pay at counter. If they improve the service and the payment method then it think it has a potential to do very good business.“

“Very good! Stopped in after a movie. The service was impeccable! It was my first time eating at this location and as soon as we walked in, they made you feel like they have known you forever or that we were regulars. I noticed that some regulars who walked in, they already knew what they were going to order and were greeted exceptionally well. The food of course matched the service. Was very good. Fresh and flavorful! I would go again for sure and recommend you eating there. Well done!“

“Great drinks. I had the Ube coffee. My wife had a matcha latte. They ask you how sweet you want your drinks. Get the nem nuong banh mi or beef and onion banh mi. My wife and I felt like we were back in Vietnam when we saw the cholimex and chin-su sauce on the tables for the customers. The cafe is pretty no frills and has limited space. Lunch was pretty cheap, and it was good. I'd come back to Comeback Cafe.“

“Freshrolls and Bowls are my most favorite places where I have eaten at Berkeley location twice a week and sometimes at 4th street in SF and they both serve an amazing fresh food and homemade drinks.
I had two of their bowls and four fresh rolls this week and still want to come back for more , the bowls and rolls are filled with all fresh vegetables , look so pretty colorful and topping with the delicious well marinated grilled chicken or pork, the rolls are made so tight and with an crunchy crispy goodness in them to deliver an perfect harmony taste.
Their homemade limeade is impressive with a taste of fresh ginger and basil combined to deliver a refreshing delicious beverage, and also their Mint Lychee Jasmine Tea and Vietnamese Iced Coffee are also give an unforgettable experience.
Anyway , I would recommend this place a thousand times and thank you Freshrolls and Bowls.“

“Loved it. Coming back with friends.
This is slow food at it's best. Don't come if you are in hurry, or hangey.
But worth the wait if you love seafood and plan a leasurly meal.
We went Friday night after 7. There were only 7 table, some pushed together to accomodate bigger parties. Was greeted and told when large party left, 7 people party plus our party of 2 would be seated at those table. When seated, we got menus, water, and then waited to order. We had already observed this timeline while waiting, and saw those seated earlier oprdering, and just receiving food. So it was as expected.
Food was excellent! Salad so crspy fresh, calamaries crispy, tender, not heavy batter or rubbery. Sauces and dressing creamy and fresh tssting.
Fish same crispy light coating. Lots of fries, neither tried. Next time may ask if can uptier with garlic fries. My shrip boil was more like prawns, 1 lb 19.95, headless plus $1. A bargain, garlic butter mild. I like that you can pick how spicy, and various flavoring.
We were too full to try dessert.
Will try some variety next time with a bigger crowd.“

“I was hesitant to come back after I had a bad experience a year ago before they rebranded; which a lot of the older reviews reflect. VERY happy to say that they've improved significantly, I got the five spice chicken with an iced coffee and both are fantastic. Meat tastes great and the bread is perfect. Worth giving them another shot if you started avoiding this place like I did before.
Friendly staff too.“
