“Here is my favorite sushi restaurant.

First, the chef is friendly, and most importantly, the reasonably priced rolls and sushi are very satisfying.

I ordered based on the server's recommendations, and overall, I was pleased with the dishes. Although I couldn't take a picture, you must try the langostino baked roll!!!“

“Horrible customer service! We have been wanting to try it and were in the area today… cashier was friendly and polite, but when we got home we were given the wrong order. They handed us our bag, we asked if it was the bento box, and were told it was, but it wasn’t. Honest mistake. I called to see if I could come back tomorrow to get it replaced, at first the cashier said yes, just give him my name. The manager got on the phone, told me it was my fault and she had already lost too much money on it and that she wasn’t going to make me another. She kept arguing then hung up on me 😡. Sadly, we will never go back.“

“This place is easily one of the best sushi spots on 2nd street, delicious options with plentiful portions. I tried the Mexican, AAA roll and the deep fried California roll with all 3 being stellar. The atmosphere is lively and the greeting when you walk in from the sushi chefs is nice ?

“I ordered the Cajun Tuna Roll just to keep it simple. It's great for the price, you get what you pay for. I got curious about the Spicy chicken sandwich and decided to try it out.I have a high spice tolerance and never was really "spiced"out by ANY Spicy Sandwich. Until today. By far, the best spicy chicken sandwich I've had so far. Very crispy and juicy.. Well done! I'll be regularly coming back :)“

“We were seated right away and I really liked how they allowed one of us to do Premium ayce and the other person to do regular ayce, it helped a lot with the flexibility in choosing both of dining experiences but sharing them together. Service was attentive and fast, we waited no more than 10 minutes after putting in our order for another round of food. The nigiri was fantastic, wasabi dots, ponzu and yuzu sauce that goes with the cuts of fish add a lot more to it. Also if you go during lunch time (up to 3pm) the prices are fairly good. Overall would highly recommend, I do wish some of the nigiri didn’t come with the specific sauce, and that the fish could be enjoyed simply without anything added on, still really great quality cuts. Normally I don’t like seared black pepper nigiri but here I loved it, the snow crab was also amazing. You also get a free large vanilla ice cream topped with chocolate syrup if you leave a yelp review, pretty cool. Highly recommend if you love ayce sushi.“

I will add that I travel a lot and try to get sushi as my dinner whenever I am on the road so I’ve patronized a lot of sushi restaurants, mostly in the US and Canada. Roll and Teriyaki is one of those places that compelled me to write a review. I had the miso soup, the 12 piece sashimi dish, the rainbow roll, and the caterpillar roll. The miso soup was good. The sashimi was very good. The rainbow roll was fantastic. And, the caterpillar roll was so unbelievably good that I almost didn’t want to swallow. All that at a more than super reasonable price. “This is my new favorite spot for chicken katsu - it's so juicy and flavorful, and the bento box is so well put-together. While the main highlight is the katsu, every other part of the bento box is great, from the takoyaki to the gyoza, and those little animal waffles, so cute and so tasty! The owners are very friendly as well. Eating here always brings a smile to my face, I've only been twice so far, but I will absolutely be coming back again soon!“

“If I could choose a meal to eat for the rest of my life I would say this is it! I’m from Utah, was in town for a couple of days and I always crave Hibachi. Utahs food is boring, bland and flavorless. Found this spot as I was rolling through Long Beach and decided to stop. The lady at the counter was super nice and welcoming! “This place did not appear automatically on Google Maps and we just saw it in the area. But so glad we did! Got the donkatsu (Donkkaseu) combo with soba. Portions were pleasantly larger than expected and we felt contently full afterwards. The katsu was fried perfectly and had a nice crunch! The donkatsu had lots of meat, and there were also side dishes that came with the meal!

“I can't believe I've been walking past this place for years and it turns out to be some of the best food I've had out in ages.We had gyoza, chicken katsu curry, and yaki udon. The food itself was very delicious and it seemed to me that they use high quality ingredients. Portions are very filling, and in spite of my large appetite, I was not able to finish. It's definitely a good value, especially considering the downtown area where they're located.Service was also excellent. The hostess explained what all the different options were and made some recommendations for us based on our responses, and the interior is cozy and tucked away from the street.We will definitely be going again.

“I like to stop by here for lunch during the week when I'm at work. It's has plenty of parking, and the service is always quick. Fair prices for all the items but I usually order the cheese burger with a drink. Even with a tip is fair inexpensive. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a quick delicious bite.

It was all good until I wanted the check. We sat for 30 minutes waiting for a check. The front of staff was more concerned with the group next to us or being idle. I have pressed to call for a server multiple times and hearing the ping letting them know a table needed help but I could not get their attention. I only got my check after the table next to us asked for a check when I told them I wanted a check. I partly blame the system for not properly letting the staff know since the ping only went off for a server request but also for how unattentive the staff is to some other guests. “After my husband and I picked up orders from Yoshinoya, we noticed a restaurant across the Beach Boulevard advertising takeout deals: two Teriyaki Chicken Bowls for $13, two California Rolls for $9.50, and a buy-one-get-one-50%-off deal on any rolls. So we decided to swing by and grab some Teriyaki Chicken Bowls to go a week later.

When we walked in, there was an Asian auntie and a young staff behind the counter. As we ordered, we got to chatting, and the auntie told us that she used to own a restaurant in Buena Park for 18 years before moving to Stanton in this location 7 years ago. (She might be the owner but I’m not 100% sure) She proudly assured us that everything the restaurant served is fresh and delicious. Just by looking at the neatly arranged ingredients at the sushi bar section, I could already tell this place is good.

We ordered the takeout special: two Teriyaki Chicken Bowls for $13. It was such a great deal, and they were indeed very delicious. The chicken was tender, and the sauce had a refreshing hint of lemon. The bowls came with two slices of carrot, cabbage, and broccoli, along with a perfectly portioned amount of rice. Just as the auntie guaranteed , it was tasty and worth every penny. (If you dine in, there’s no discount. These deals are only for takeout.)

The menu offers a lot of variety. The lunch specials (11:00 AM - 3:00 PM) seem like a steal. Here are some combos it offers as follows and we’ll definitely be back to try more.

Just last week, my friend and his family of seven came to visit Disneyland. They were craving for Asian food, so I picked up some Teriyaki Chicken Bowls from here and brought them to the park. “I ordered the beef teriyaki plate. It was ok. I also ordered the strawberry lemonade drink, but it did not taste organic. The strawberry lemonade tasted ok, not bad, but most likely, it has an artificial flavor to it. I noticed that when I came inside, the worker cleaning was nice and cool. I also noticed I almost sneezed inside, and I went outside to sneeze, and I couldn't sneeze. When I came inside, I saw the cashier sneeze ?. I just hope they are not sneezing a lot inside when they are close to the food and hope they are washing their hands every time.
