A total of 4 of us came with my 2yr old that fell asleep. Without even asking the staff accommodated us by seating us in the enclosed outdoor area (it's quieter there than inside) and turned on the heater without being asked. Extremely attentive staff checking in on us (we never felt forgotten outside). If you need sushi recommendations we had the Call Me Babe, Earthquake, Dragon Tear, and non spicy garlic edamame all options are delicious.“

We sat near the window where you can see people walk by and still be feeling privately seated. I had the salmon teriyaki. It came with salad and miso soup. The salmon's cooked perfectly. Crunchy skin, moist salmon and flavored just right. The salad, though small, was dressed appropriately. The salad dressing very yummy. The miso soup with tofu and seaweed was spot on. Truly not from a packet. My partner ordered the yaki soba. Very reminiscent of our tours in Japan. Brought us back to the little shops of Tokyo. This place is great to hang out with friends and family to catch up or meet up. Our party had a baby, they have high chairs and staff were very accommodating, we did not feel like a nuisance while dining here. When the baby was rowdy and there was a lobby area just a short walk away to calm the baby down with various Japanese decor.“

There was a 45 minute wait on a Sunday evening and we didn't want to wait.Since Shin Zen Gumi was just a short walk away, we decided to come here.We didn't realize that it was based on Yakitori grilled styled Japanese and therefore I wasn't gonna be able to get any tempura like I normally would, however a change in pace would be just as fine.We studied the menu for a few minutes and were easily enticed to order some yakitori meats ? which was surprisingly delicious with a garlic dipping sauce, couple bowls of Shio ramen which was delicious for that style of ramen they didn't have tonkatsu style available , some grilled gyoza ? for our daughter, karaage which also was delicious and fried to perfection , and finally I ordered a plate of their garlic shrimp ? fries?.Now I normally do not ever get fries at a Japanese restaurant however I randomly chose this item and didn't regret it one bit. Everything from the breakfast items (served all day), especially the Portuguese Sausage (which is their own recipe and it's a patty type sausage not like a hot dog) and eggs and the Hawaiian Royale (a rice dish with eggs, portugese sausage, char siu, sauce, kind of like a fried rice but not). The Japanese food is delicious, they do a great tempura. Or if you just want a burger and fries you can't go wrong either. So all the things needed to be a great little diner.“

“Food is excellent. Some staff are friendly, some look miserable to be there. Better to get there early! They do get busy fast during lunch/dinner hours. There are lots of scrumptious options to choose from and right when I think I've made up my mind on what to get I spot the daily specials board. Mind you I did get in late for dinner so they were mostly sold out of their specials but I did not leave disappointed. The staff is friendly and very attentive, they make you feel like family. The chili is DELICIOUS! I loved it, I even took a pint of it home. Their poke is good, it was marinated with sesame oil and green onions. “If you have good taste in katsu then this is the place for you. If you don't then byeeeee. I love this place because it reminds me of this famous spot in Tokyo, called Butagumi. Both of them share this premium flaky crispy batter on the outside which I love. I know most katsu uses a thicker more dense batter but I prefer this. I will DEFINITELY be returning. If I had to describe how the batter is, it almost looks like bonito flakes were fried on it, but that's a good thing with the flakiness. The katsu does take a little bit of time to make as I'm under the impression it's fresh but in my opinion worth the wait. You can always go shopping in Tokyo Central for a little or order a snack at one of the other food places. This location is inside the Tokyo Central and to the right of the entrance.
