“We moved a street over and were excited to try. The $80 omakase left us full and content! The perfect amount of food. The black cod, seared salmon, and otoro were huge highlights. As a ginger lover, I was thrilled with how good this was and ate my entire pile mostly plain with just with their high quality soy sauce. We couldn't help eyeballing the huge 12 piece rolls that were going out past us and can't wait to try next time.“

“Tranquil spot with various omakase options. Came here with my family for an early dinner and made a reservation online beforehand. We opted for the Sushi Bar Omakase for $109 which came with 8 courses (including dessert). A couple of courses had multiple pieces, and we left very full. The blue crab hand roll was my favorite part; it was huge, hot, and the sauce that accompanied it was delicious. The fish was super fresh and the pieces kept coming. It was fun to watch them being prepared right in front of us at the bar (there are table seats as well). We enjoyed our meal and I would recommend this for special occasions or a way to treat yourself.“

“From the moment I settled in the booth, a caressing breeze welcomed me. The large garage door like opening of a window added to the beautifully appointed space. There were many highlights of the evening, including the delicious spicy albacore role , the more rare sashimi sea bass, and the decadent dessert banana ice cream caramel sandwich with crunchy filo dough. Our waitresses Monique was hands down the highlight of the evening- what a pleasure to be served by a competent, passionate, and beautiful human. A memorable evening.“

“Please excuse the messy photos, I was too hungry and just snapped them quickly before eating. I ordered the Seafood Yakisoba and Curry Katsu, and my friend absolutely loved it! As always, Ocean Sushi did not disappoint. We both enjoyed it so much. thumbs up! 😀“

“Little Izaka-ya is my go-to neighborhood sushi spot, and it never disappoints! The servers always remember me, which adds such a nice, welcoming touch to every visit. It feels like a place I can count on for a great time and delicious food every single time. The sushi rolls are consistently fresh and full of flavor, but my personal favorite is the white fish roll—YUM! It’s always a treat. I also love how easy it is to make a reservation, making dining here super convenient. Whether it’s for a casual night out or a special dinner, Little Izaka-ya always delivers. Highly recommend!“

“Not a big fan of sitting on the side of street where people walk by and you intake that fumes coming from all these traffic. Got to sit inside by the bar, the food here is okay, but a bit pricey for what it's worth. Been to many affordable to very expensive sushi places in the U.S. and in Asia, this place is more IG/social media friendly picturesque place than an actual sushi/sashimi place. Not much nigiri/sashimi choices. Not a big fan of places that sell pre-made canned alcohol with an extreme markup.“

“We really enjoyed our dining experience at Kenbey. The sushi is fresh and you can tell the chef cares about each piece he serves. I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because of 3 things. The first is that I didn’t like the sauce that came on the hirame and the sauce on the albacore with the slice of garlic. Second, we tried the Hokkaido uni, it was a very dark orange (so not the freshest - we should have gone with the Santa Barbara uni) and so bland and flavorless. Third, for the prices they could add some decoration.
I would still recommend trying Kenbey. The service was excellent and overall pretty good!“

“Sushi Yuzu is a small, unassuming gem that serves top-quality sushi. I’m usually picky when it comes to sushi, but this place truly impressed me. The fish is always fresh, and the nigiri is expertly prepared. The service is attentive, and the vibe is relaxed but elegant. It’s not as flashy as other sushi places in LA, but the quality of the food speaks for itself. Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic sushi.“

“Came here for lunch and the food did not disappoint. I ordered the lunch combo with a California roll and sashimi and everything was delicious. The place was busy and we waited a little bit to be served but nothing to complain about. Everyone was so sweet and friendly, I will be back!“

“Pretty much everything it is always the best and freshest fish in town! The best oysters on the half shell, Uni, yellowtail belly, the seafood salad is really delicious, (as well as their salmon skin salad)! Another favorite is the ELhand roll (it’s almost a meal in itself)! You really cannot go wrong with anything you order there! Five stars for sure!“

“The staff are always friendly and the food is absolutely delicious.
Every time we visit L.A., this is a must-stop spot for our kids.
We’re big fans of sushi and have tried omakase in many countries, but this place keeps coming back to mind. While the setting and atmosphere might not be the most fancy, the taste alone is enough to bring us back.
In fact, sometimes the small and humble vibe feels even more comfortable, which is why it works so well for our family. I have a feeling we’ll keep coming back every time we’re in L.A!“

“a true gem. there are no frills here and the sushi speaks for itself. I have never had to wait for a table and the service is direct, and courteous. they provide incredible ginger that they will refill throughout your meal, so go crazy, it’s addictive. and the wasabi. freshly grated, sweet, fluffy, this is the real deal.
my favorites are the sweet shrimp, the uni served with hokkaido and santa barbara side by side, the halibut, and red snapper. but it’s all very very good.
every time i am seated, the waiter reminds me, no special roll, no california roll, and I couldn’t be happier.“

“Truly not enough descriptive words to express the level of freshness, taste and welcoming vibe we experienced at Karma Sushi. Honestly the BEST sushi I’ve had in forever. James and his staff are a 10+ (no exaggeration). They greet you like family and take care of you like only an owner runned business could. I’m hooked and can’t stop eating here!!!! Was just there for Mother’s Day and returning next week to share with a friend. A MUST TRY.“

“We went here for our wedding anniversary and we loved loved the whole experience! I’ve had many omakase before in LA, Toronto & Japan and this was top notch. I was obsessed with their pickled ginger as it appears to be house made. I would come back just for that! Just kidding but not really. We’ll definitely be back! I wish them continued success!“

“Okay I don’t even know where to start but my experience at Morihiro was amazing. It was actually my second time but it gets even better and better. Coming from Japan, it is SO HARD to find good sushi overseas. Sure there are so many Michelin sushi restaurants here in LA but Morihiro is not even comparable- first Shari ( sushi rice ) is ANOTHER LEVEL. Quality of Shari is so important to make good sushi but he actually spent 25years to look for specific rice - Rice here is not just a decoration but it plays important role for the sushi. And appetizers!!! He likes to mix both Japanese traditional dish and local ingredients. It was amazing. A lot of sushi restaurants don’t care about appetizers but they just care about golden flakes or caviar lol But his dish is so delicious and there is a meaning behind. Also service was top notch! They don’t even speak Japanese but they knew the details of regions or seasonal ingredients. Can you even imagine how hard would it be to learn every single name of fish or vegetable in different language? I have huge respect for all the chefs and servers. It was AMAZING. You will NOT regret it. I can guarantee as a Japanese foodie from Japan!!!!!!“

“This place is absolutely amazing! I rarely write reviews, but I had to make an exception for this one. My son and I absolutely loved it here. Everything was perfect—the food, the atmosphere, and the overall experience! The complimentary cucumber salad and miso soup were such a delightful touch. This is officially my go-to sushi spot from now on. Highly recommend it to everyone!“

“The only reason I’m reducing a star is because this place doesn’t sell Thai food anymore. I found them on Google thinking that my kids can get Thai noodles and I can enjoy the sushi. They need to update their profile here as it’s deceiving.
Still ordered sushi and got it to go. It was fresh and delicious. The staff is nice and welcoming. The place is small but clean.
Sushi is recommended.“

“The food is AMAZING. I do feel a bit cheated out of the overall experience. The joint is inside the supermarket and they don’t have a seating area. Something the previous reviews neglected to mention. For a $100+ order and two have to take it to go, it’s definitely not what I expected. We did a picnic nearby to adjust. The food is a culinary trip. I highly recommend them. It is by far one of the best sushi joints in the San Fernando Valley.“

“Authentic family owned and ran sushi and omakase restaurant. My friends live out here and they come here often, we had reservations for the back room, it was really nice and cozy and they let us use their speaker, we probably were really loud during dinner. The sushi chef was out front and its bar and omakase style. We had the back and multiple rounds of sake, we also ordered edamame, seaweed salad and some other rolls too. I like amaebi (sweet shrimp) and they fried the heads for us. We did a couple of other tuna and mackerel rolls as well. There’s some street parking and parking further in the areas. Great vibes, authentic and great service!“

“DELICIOUS!! My hubby and I decided to pop in on a whim and we’re so glad we did! Our server Mark was sooo attentive and had delicious recommendations. The yuzu albacore and spicy scallop hand rolls were so fresh and stood out. Chef Joab made every roll and nigiri we ordered to perfection and was very friendly, making the experience memorable! Honestly, even the host and other staff were kind/welcoming throughout the eve. We will definitely return!“

“Came after a movie during a lunch and had three rolls and a miso. Lindsay was very friendly from the start and made sure I was always attended, the food was delicious for a quick bite to eat and will be trying the ramen next time. The cucumber in the sushi was a little to on the thicker side than what I’m used to but all very very fresh sushi and delicious!!“

“I never leave reviews, but as someone who loves sushi and has eaten at most of the restaurants and hole in the walls in the valley — this place is hands down at the top. The atmosphere isn’t fancy, more casual, but the happy hour deal and the quality of the food is solid. The staff couldn’t be nicer and more lovely. Highly recommend giving it a shot for a casual date night or if you’re craving some solo sushi time :)“

“Some of you may know the Katsuya in the Americana in Glendale, well, this has nothing to do with that one (quality-wise!). This is an awesome little joint that is always stuffed with people and the food is really good. If you have ever been to an authentic Japanese hole in the wall, you know it should look like this! The only bad thing about the place are......well, the customers. When I sat with my wife, a table of 3 ladies was paying the check and they continued sitting there long after we left!
Let me give you all a free piece of knowledge: when the server brings you the check, especially without you asking, they are not pressuring you for a tip. It means the table is needed to produce more money for the night. Those girls made that table skip a turn-around and probably tipped horribly for staying 40+ minutes yapping hysterically on a table after having paid the check. The place was packed that night, that was a low ball girls!
Anyway, awesome place, absolutely try it! Oh yeah, you will be pleasantly surprised by its prices! (Wink)“

“I love Kinza. It’s a cute but no pretension type of sushi spot! Their rolls come with 10 pieces (not 8) AND you can order half size rolls even for their specialty rolls which is INCREDIBLE. Very fresh, flavorful, lots of good combos, and service is excellent.
If you can’t find parking on the street, park in the alley behind the restaurant!“
