“We are self recognized sushi snobs and this is our new go to place. They have rolls similar to what we find at Got Sushi in Northridge but for a better price. The quality is right up there with other top notch places. The service is on point. It's a small place so just one waitress when we've gone, but she is always on top of everything and the food comes out of the open kitchen quickly.“
“Wonderful experience with fantastic fish! Highly recommend sitting at the bar and doing the omakase. I had the #1 option to start but can't wait to go back and try the #2! With so many "fast food" style sushi places in the area it is very nice to have a place you can go to occasionally to splurge on fresh, quality nigiri.“
“Very pleasant little place. Portions were not as big as some places, and the prices reflect. This is a good thing. The Kale noodles were really good. I was not expecting that. I veered from my usual pork based broth to a chicken and maybe that wasn’t the best idea but over all I was very “
“I've been hearing about Chiba from my brother for years, and now I understand why it's his go-to spot for sushi. Freshness is paramount when it comes to sushi, and Chiba delivers on every level. The sushi rolls were bursting with flavor, and each piece of nigiri was perfect. It's clear that the chefs at Chiba take immense pride in their craft, and it truly shines through in every dish. Their attention to detail and the commitment to providing a wonderful sushi dining experience. In my humble opinion, Chiba easily ranks among the top 5 sushi spots in the entire Los Angeles area. If you're looking for fresh, delicious sushi served with a side of exceptional service, look no further than Chiba. Trust me wheh I say you won't be disappointed.“
“I love going to Toshi's, it's a hidden gem that I like to gatekeep but it's so hard not to tell people about him!! The food is so yummy and you can really tell he's put his love & care into it!! The quality of the fish is always so good and everytime I bring someone new to try his food, they say the same thing! My favorite is the miguel angel roll!! The price of the sashimi plate is honestly so good especially for the quality! Toshi is also a one man show and everytime we're there he makes us feel so welcomed! He's also the sweetest soul you'll ever encounter! I definitely recommend“
“I grew up in Glendale so I known Mitzee’s for at least 15-20 years!! Your Chef AKA ( your cook ) has been there if not mistaken the same amount of time. Food taste and presentation has been the same since the first time I had it, their hot sauce it’s AMAZING! if you love spicy, if you don’t have high tolerance for spicy stay away or have just a little lol. I know leave in Downtown and when passing by Glendale I make it a stop…“
“solid place. the scenery is nice the service is great. this guy was serving all table at the place and he was quick and really friendly. the food was yummy but my bf did say he wished the spicy mayo was more spicy. GREAT GREAT GREAT SERVICE because that was the best part.“
“My all time favoriteJapanese restaurant. The katsu curry is to die for. There are so many items on the menu to try. The staff are incredibly nice and accommodating. Atmosphere is fun, there are lots of fun nik naks covering the walls. It looks like a casual place on the outside but it's so much more. Go as soon as they open because it fills up quick and always has a line.“
“Ambiance and service here were good. The food js also good. Although the ramen places at Sawtelle are much tastier, this place is still decent if you are craving for ramen and don’t want to make a long drive to Sawtelle. Although this place has a long waitlist, its still worth to give it a “
“Finally got a chance to try this out since had my eye on it since it opened in the neighborhood. The restaurant is on the smaller side and has about 15 tables total so definitely have a bit of patience if going right at dinner time. They only take reservations for parties over 5. If you go at non-peak times, should be able to get seated right away. The host and servers were friendly and constantly came by to clear plates as they were finished and refill drinks. Food wise, you can order a la carte or from 2 levels of AYCE. We went for the premium AYCE and enjoyed it after leaving stuffed and wagyu oozing from our pores. The meat quality was excellent and while each plate was only 4-7 slices, you can just keep ordering if you can handle all the rich and fatty meats. The carpaccios and other appetizers were good and you can order 1/2 size of many dishes so you don't overstuff yourself. So while the price ($75), for premium is definitely up there, it is fair for the quality of the meats and other options. You have a 90 min. limit so be mindful of that as the food does not come out as quickly when the restaurant is full. Overall, something to splurge on once in a while and if you're looking for premium meats. Friendly tip- wear clothes you don't mind smelling like bbq/smoke as their exhaust system could use some improvement as you can visibly see the smoke later in the night when busy as the exhaust at each table is lacking in effectiveness.“
“Yes it's right next to a gas station but that shouldn't put you off, the place is pretty good. There are only 4 parking sports directly in front so at a busy time I can see this being an issue. The service was great. The waiter was very friendly and helpful in case we had any questions. The food ranges from decent to good. The Black Garlic Miso Ramen wasn't hot enough for me and way too salty. The tofu that I ordered as my protein was cold. The Lady Gaga sushi was a mixed bag. The toppings were a great combination of flavor but the tuna itself wasn't very good. I wouldn't order it again personally. That being said, we did really enjoy the Shrimp Tempura Cut Roll. It's not the best I've had but still very good. The Garlic Edamame as a starter was pretty amazing I have to say. Definitely get that! The Bluefin Tuna sushi we tried was also very good actually.I liked the ambiance inside: nice and clean with appealing decor. It's not really a place for a romantic dinner but it's not aiming for that anyway. Would certainly recommend if you're in the area.“
“I just went back to Sushi 101 in 19 years apart! Yes, they have "special of the day" menu still going on !!! Sushi & Sashimi are always Fresh & they offer other Japanese authentic specialties... even Soba or Ramen and They do "Monday Omakase Night" I just made a reservation for coming Monday!(Thursday is the deadline to make your reservation for next Monday) I really recommend this restaurant for all Japanese Food Lovers.“
“The food here was so good that we ate it before I could take any photos! The sushi chefs totally rocked! The atmosphere was dark and warm. It felt good. It felt like I was in a more upscale restaurant then just one and a strip mall in Sunland California. This place is nice yeah you can show up in your humblest attire and eat some of the best sushi you've ever had. Definitely worth a try. You'll likely be back again.“
“I'm back at this restaurant and it hasn't disappoint me yet! I brought my son today and he is in heaven! I don't know why it says it's close when it's open? But it's under new management. The all you can eat menus are great and the food is amazing. For the money you paying it's worth the food your eating. Very tasty and decent size portions not to much rice! The service is definitely on point! I know the previous times I've been here service was okay and they would take a long time to feed you but this time around I give them 5 stars! Definitely upgraded in the service department...I definitely recommend this place come try it out! Definitely the best all you can eat place I've eaten! They give you good portions“
“I crave it everyday of the week. Counting down till I go back. all the rolls are to die for. The portions are great, nothing is ever dry, I go so often and I am never disappointed.Parking: It's hard to get in, but there is usually always a spot or two available.“
“Super delicious Omakase experience! I'd definitely like to go back on a week night for a few rolls. We did a double date here the other night and there was a mixup with our order and we waited a long time but they made it right. I definitely recommend the Omakase experience! My favorite was the nigiri and sashimi. Super fresh and all the details on top of the fish were delicious. Creamy caviar at one point ! This place is in a busy area, so parking is hard, get there early! I appreciate the upscale vibe in the midst of a lot of restaurants, its stands apart!“
“When I say this place is a hidden gem, I can't emphasize that enough. An incredible experience with engaging, attentive staff that are enthusiastic to serve you.The chefs offer great entertainment and witty remarks that make it fun. Best restaurant I have experienced in years. Bravo“
“Twice in a row I have gone to this sushi place and enjoyed some of the best sushi ive enjoyed in a while. I particularly remember thinking the avocado in my rolls is the freshest and creamiest I've ever eaten in sushi. There Ramen portions are very large and can easily be shared. They have some all day happy hours and service is friendly and efficient. I highly recommend the beef teriyaki which is more of a slices beef than a steak but the flavor of their sauce is amazing. Plan ahead for parking which isn't impossible but might take a few minutes.“
“Miya Sushi is a true hidden gem, nestled in a old plaza across froma Bank of America, and it's a complete delight to discover. The restaurant's intimate setting features just a handful of tables in a narrow corridor, but the authentic food and reasonable prices more than make up for the cozy space. What's intriguing is that while the sushi is definitely good, the real standout at Miya Sushi might just be their appetizers. They offer a diverse selection, and what you see on the menu is exactly what you'll receive - no surprises. My personal must-tries are the miso nasu, agedashi tofu, the crispy tempura, and the delectable mushroom squid medley.Miya Sushi is one of my top sushi spots in the Valley, and I'm confident you'll fall in love with it too. Just remember to make a reservation; it's a charming place that deserves all the recognition it gets! :)“
“We orders a variety of items so we could try a lot of options on our first visit. Everything was delicious! I especially liked the Spicy Scallop Hand Roll and Mushroom Medley. All our orders came out in rapid succession so we got filled quickly. My only recommendation is for he food comes out mored slowly so you can savor each item.“
“Real sushi. REAL sushi. No rolls. No avocado. No bacon or curry powder or bittersweet chocolate or whatever new thing the fusion restaurants are putting into their sushi rolls. Fusion is fine if that's what you want, but sometimes you just want REAL sushi and it can be hard to find. This place delivers. Yes, your bill can add up. Did I mention this is real sushi? Don't expect a $17.99 dinner special with California rolls. I go as a special treat and when I do, I savor it. It's worth the price. PS it's clear that the sushi chef puts great care into each piece, so it can take a while when they get busy. Don't go if you're in a rush. In fact, maybe don't go at all because this place is tiny and I don't want you taking the last table and making me wait. Just forget you ever read this review and go find a California roll...somewhere else.“
“We've been living literally around the corner for the last 6 years, like a 5 minute walk from home, and came here like two months ago for the first time. We loved it so much, we tried different plates and they're all delicious. Will be back again soon.“
“terrific place.always something special off menu perfectly prepared. nice music, friendly chef, knowledgeable staff, great food, not cheap but not crazy. how ever does he make a thousand absolutely identical tiny cuts of a cucumber by hand?“
“This sushi restaurant in Studio City is actually very delightful. People were very professional as well as very nice. The food is super fresh. The restaurant is over 10 years old but kept very updated and very clean. As for their price, compare to number of it's competitors, their quality of their fish is excellent and very moderately priced. For suchi lovers it's a musty try if you already haven't, which I doubt!Vegetarian options: I'm not sure but I believe soKid-friendliness: Kid friendlyWheelchair accessibility: WC accessible“
“I recently had the pleasure of dining at Haruka Sake and Sushi and I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was captivated by the inviting ambiance and the tantalizing aroma of freshly prepared sushi. The food at Haruka Sake and Sushi was beyond compare. Every dish that graced my table was a work of art, beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The sushi was made with the utmost care, and the quality of the ingredients was evident in every bite. The fish was incredibly fresh, melting in my mouth with each sushi roll I sampled. The variety of options available ensured that there was something to suit every palate, from traditional favorites to inventive and creative sushi creations. But it wasn't just the food that left a lasting impression. The service at Haruka Sake and Sushi was impeccable. The staff members were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They were more than happy to offer recommendations and answer any questions I had. Despite the restaurant being busy, the waitstaff managed to provide a seamless experience, ensuring that every customer felt valued and well taken care of.The ambiance of Haruka Sake and Sushi was enchanting. The decor was tasteful and soothing, creating a tranquil atmosphere perfect for enjoying a meal. The lighting was just right, creating an intimate setting that enhanced the dining experience. Whether you're looking for a place to have a quiet dinner or celebrate a special occasion, Haruka offers an ideal setting.Overall, Haruka Sake and Sushi exceeded my expectations in every way. The combination of outstanding food, exceptional service, and a delightful atmosphere make it a top-tier sushi restaurant. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone seeking an unforgettable culinary adventure. Whether you're a sushi aficionado or new to the world of Japanese cuisine, Haruka Sake and Sushi will leave you craving more.First time experience pass the test. Thanks ?“
“My favorite spot in Sherman Oaks! Tom is the greatest! I love me some Nate T makes amazing Drinks and severs it with a smile. This is a great place for fun, food and TopTier service! I could mention so many things about this place and I will leave you with this go and Thank me later. ??“
“First of all, if shabu shabu is new to you like it was for some of us, then this would be an great start!Thank you Jason for giving us amazing service. From explaining the process to making sure we were always filled up with our sides, sauces, and drinks. The Joon beef was amazing and the variety of veggies they give is a lot. The black rice was really tasty and unlimited. So we're the sauces. The prices we're fair but then again when service is great then it makes sense. They have high bar and low bar seating for preferences. Some kids might need a high chair so low bar seating makes sense. The broth was fun because they let you mix it up on your own.Fun tip: they give you purse clips for the table.“
“Nothing Better than this... Family business, Authentic food, and most important Amazing Service. Born & raised in LA and spent years going to the four corners of the valley in search of the God Tier Sushi spot. For a while I felt like Thanos in search of the infinity stones, but instead of finding one stone I found the infinity gauntlet. So now as Thanos said "I can finally rest and watch the sun rise on a grateful universe." In non-nerd terms stop wasting time and money on hit-or-miss spots, Tatsu is worth the time and money!“
“The menu offered a wide variety of options, catering to both traditional sushi enthusiasts and those looking for innovative dishes. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made great recommendations. The ambiance of the place added to the dining experience, striking a perfect balance between cozy and sophisticated. Whether you're a sushi aficionado or new to Japanese cuisine, this restaurant is a must-visit. Highly recommended for its delightful culinary journey and exceptional service.“
“This sushi stop has a bit more of an open space feel than the other one about a block away. The food is great? here as well. Cool vibe inside, and I saw seating areas outside. If you feel like sushi with ambient space this is the place.Parking: There are some open spaces around the main street. Most parking is in a lot on the back streets.Kid-friendliness: Family friendly ❤️Wheelchair accessibility: A buzzer for wheelchair access would be nice, and it's a bit more open on the space side inside.“
“the food was very delicious, they cooked my steak to perfection i asked for medium well and that's exactly what i got it was super tender and very flavorful, the service was amazing super friendly people and very attentive making sure they have everything right before they send you off, they pack you utensils along with sauces of your choice, the ambience is very welcoming and nice chill spot to stop by for some great food & their prices are very reasonable definitely recommend (:“
“The sushi and ramen were great and the server was fantastic. Our kids use chopsticks all the time but dropped like 4 and he was there with fresh ones in seconds. Kind of an odd sports bar vibe with lots of live sports tv's without being too loud or boisterous.“
“Shout out to Luis (from Guadalajara Japan) ? at the bar! Delicious and reasonable pricing. Not the cheapest but reasonable. Favorite items... Salmon cream hand roll, you fancy huh, salmon with fresh truffle, and the yellow tail sashimi with ponzu sauce. This is our new favorite spot.“
“delicious!!! food was absolutely amazing and priced so well. my favorite was the popcorn cut roll. the fried shrimp on top was insane! crispy rice is another must. the service here was the real star. although the sushi was some of the best, the service alone made this experience unforgettable. from the chefs to the servers and hosts, i have not been to a restaurant with this amazing of service in a while. from doors being opened for me to the check being split with ease, i was in awe of how sweet everyone was here!!!! this place is a must try!“
“Visited this nice family owned restaurant after a visit to a theme park, and the staff was so welcoming the prices are decent and the quality of food was amazing! I have zero complaints. The owner gifted my kids Halloween candy and also a box of chocolate sticks! I was so surprised to see such treatment and filled my kids bellies out! Recommend this place 110%“
“Wonderful gem in the valley. A regular haunt for us. Have the portobello mushroom dish. Sushi is great. Particular favorites: medium toro, albacore sashimi with crispy onions, spicy tuna on crispy rice. They get busy, but service is always great and friendly.“
“Go to this place if you actually want GOOD quality sushi. Like authentic sushi and not those 'americanized' one. I've heard stories that some people don't like their baked sushi... well hate to break it to you, but everyone needs to try the real stuff (Personally, I like their baked sushi too)Everyone needs to try the Chirashi !! That is my to-go order every time I go with my bf... You can tell the fish is fresh, it just melts in your mouth. The chef does put a lot of love/passion into his food so I really recommend this hidden gem.“
“Namura is absolutely the BEST!! The spicy garlic ramen is out of this world. They cook the broth for 5 hours and all the veges are fresh. The pork is seared and cooked to perfection. Another favorite is the yellowtail jalapeño carpaccio. Also the Namura roll is delish! The staff are so kind and friendly. Highly recommend!!!“
“Fresh, beautifully presented and creative rolls, sashimi and appetizers! We were a table of 4 and ordered several items to share- please see my pictures you can figure out which are which. My favorite were the crispy rice with spicy tuna and popcorn shrimp and the lemon roll- absolutely delicious! Please go and support this small business- trust me you will be regular customers as my friends who took me there are!“
“This place is the definition of a hidden gem. Unbelievably amazing ramen everything is just right with flavor and spice. Very laid back aesthetic and service was wonderful. I ordered and highly recommend the spicy tonkotsu it was probably the best I have had in Los Angeles. Outside of the amazing ramen they have so much more to offer. I cannot gush over this place enough. If I could I would give it 6 stars out of 5 just for havingSapporo and asahi on draft on top of everything else.“
“I've always enjoyed Sushi Dake. Our favorites are Dodger hall and the burrito. Their hours are a bit sporadic and after Covid the dodger ball is half the size. I'm thinking with all the good costs going up it has really impacted this place. The burrito was big enough to counter the size of the ball so we left pretty happy. The service is always great. I will continue to eat here.“
“KazuNori is a great example of a consistent chain where I know I'm gonna get the same quality product at any of their locations. The Studio City one is my personal favorite (excluding parking - it's rough). The times I've been there: customer service was excellent, food arrived quick, and the seasoning on their sushi rice was extra tasty.“
“Wow. Everything from beginning to end.. Super attentive staff. Wished the place was a little more spacious. But overall enjoyed the wonderful 8 courses! Bring your appetite n your will to eat. It isn't cheap.Parking: It's 10 dollars the shopping center is very small. The availability for street parking somewhat difficult.“
“I can see why y'all rave about this burger, it's real good. We are on a burger crawl since moving here and this one is in the top 3 for us. The guy taking our order was kind and honest (let us know it would be a wait up to 30 mins) but it came out sooner than expected. It was crispy, juicy, cheesey and just a damn good burger.“
“The food is terrific, the welcoming and service not so much. No smile when you walk in the door, and the plates are never paced so that you are still sipping miso soup at a good pace but the tempura is dropped, anyway. Had to request a slow down, which was well-handled, but the server should know how to pace the dishes. No thank you on the way out - felt rushed and at this price point, not a comfy Saturday night.“
“The location is small so there wasn't alot of space for parking. I went ahead and used the valet service they had. The inside of the restaurant was small and felt a bit cramped. (If you are claustrophobic, be careful) of course there were spaces to move around but it will be difficult for others. The food was decent but oof pricey. My favorite was the bluefin tuna Trio. For the price of the dish, I understand since it tasted pretty fresh and the presentation was visible. I tried sea urchin for the first time here and I guess I can't say too much about it other than it being very very strong in ocean flavor. The service was great! I was well taken care of by our amazing waiter.“
“Omg this place is awesome! It is a perfect blend of simplicity, flavors and service. There's only one other place that I can remember, the tonkostu ramen being so rich and creamy not salty and that was in Washington DC. We also get the spicy crunchy tuna roll and that was excellent. I think the best restaurants make you want to make the trip back to enjoy them again, I'm coming back!“
“The customer service makes this place amazing. They treat you great here. Definitely not the best shabu shabu that I've been to.. But it's pretty good. I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes to get seated. And when you're seated they're pretty attentive. They have a great selection of meat. And they also have appetizers of sushi. They have a bar of sauces that you can choose from.“
“Wow, everything that we picked was delicious! I had a coworker recommend them, and it was definitely worth the visit. The service from the staff was excellent!! Totally worth it!! I wish I took pictures. I will next time.Kid-friendliness: Staff were very friendly with the kids.“
“Amazing little sushi joint with great atmosphere and fresh imported fish from Japan. The service was 5 star, sushi tasted fresh and delicious, and the waitress is an absolute gem. They have been a staple to the community and if you are in the area you should definitely stop by. My new favorite sushi spot.“
