I mentioned I was looking for something keto-friendly and protein-packed, and she recommended a side of chicken and a side of avocado. Simple, healthy, and surprisingly delicious! To top it off, I treated myself to their strawberry sourdough scone--absolutely amazing, especially paired with a good cup of coffee! Ronan, the manager, was exceptional as well. “Only one word describes Seed Ranger…..WOW!!! First of all, they offer ANYTHING that conventional restaurants like Applebees, Chili’s, TGI Fridays can offer, and it’s all vegan! I have had wonderful comfort food before and I’m always happy when I can find it, but this place offers over 100 different items from breakfast to “shrimp” po boy sandwiches and it’s all made to order. The cafe is in one of the most out of the way locations off Johnson Road in Ventura, and it appears that they are the last surviving restaurant in what was once a thriving food court, so make your day and satisfy your appetite at Seed Ranger. The patio setting is fantastic (it could use more regular tables instead of low/benches for plating). And the owner takes extreme pride in serving and getting to know every guest. There is no rushed feeling; in fact, it is the opposite. No one under 21 allowed (so no kids); fantastic for date night or small groups. Parking can be hard to find. Reservations REQUIRED.“

“Lure Fish House is one of my go-to happy hour spots. Happy hour runs Monday–Friday from 3:00–6:00 pm and Sunday from 11:30 am–5:00 , which is honestly elite timing.

First of all, the complimentary bread deserves its own shoutout. Warm, comforting, and dangerous in the best way.

I’m obsessed with their oyster bar, especially the Grassy Bar oysters and the charbroiled oysters. I always order the house-made chowder 50/50, it’s half Classic New England and half Veracruz fish chowder. It’s rich, flavorful, and truly the best of both worlds.

I’m a big fan of their shared plates, which is where Lure really shines. Favorites include the bacon cheddar biscuits with whipped honey goat cheese, crab cakes, and a classic Caesar salad that never disappoints. Everything is well-executed and perfect for sharing.

Their specialty cocktails are also worth ordering and pair well with the food, especially during happy hour.

The vibe is lively but not overwhelming, making it perfect for after-work drinks or a casual dinner with friends. I personally love sitting at the bar or oyster bar, it’s the best way to experience the space. Service has always been friendly and efficient,

Parking is easy too. Free parking is available in the structure behind the restaurant, which is a huge plus in downtown Ventura.

I honestly never make it to dessert because I’m always completely full, and that says a lot. Consistent, welcoming, and a solid go-to for seafood and happy hour in Ventura.“

A delightful mom and pop authentic Thai vibe. (Lived in Thailand for 3 years). Cute and very clean space. Food was DELICIOUS with a wonderful balance of flavors. I felt full yet light on my stomach. Lovely touch of a yummy broth soup before lunch with a mini egg roll. Excellent prices. Highly recommend for lunch dinner or takeout. No pics because we inhaled it all too fast!“

“After over thirty years of dining at arts Carrie never had a bad meal and the people were always the best at what they do there’s three places in town that are the top three for a place to eat and enjoy the best staff that’s always been art’s corner cafe Pete’s breakfast snd two tress restaurant and even though art’s corner cafe is no longer owned by art the boys who own two trees hxx as ve done an awesome job at opening two trees across the street from where I’ve lived for over thirty years but when they opened it was good at best but the boys improved there service there food evolved and became of the best in taste snd quality and nis they own arts cafe now and have kept up there reputation of great food and great service and woukd recommend putting your name down in any of these three ventura iconic food restaurants and enjoy a great meal worth waiting for every time“

Every person I talked with seemed to actually enjoy what they were doing. I did my tasting with Hans, whom I highly recommend. “This is my 3rd or 4th time at Hummus Republic. The food is consistently excellent. Today I tried the Earth Burger. This this is HUGE and delicious (I have enough for at least one more meal)! Sweet potato fries - excellent, and I tried their new cinnamon sugar pita chips - WOW! Tahini Shake is super tasty. My only recommendation on the shake is that they need larger (circumference) straws. A regular straw is too narrow for this thick shake. Thank you for coming to Surprise, you are a GREAT addition to the area❣“

“Maggies has been our family go to for mexican food for I dont even know how many years now. Their carne asada, bean rice & cheese burrtitos are favs but corn burritos are too. Its a toss up at times lol so we sometimes get the asada burrito + corn burritos & share.
Hot sauce could make anything taste good haha because its so tasty with just the right amt of heat
