We wandered into The Cat & Fiddle and—wow—what a find. Picture this: an honest-to-goodness English pub that feels like it’s been teleported straight out of London, but somehow landed in the middle of Hollywood. No pretense, no velvet ropes, just old-school charm and ridiculously good food.

The fish and chips? Best I’ve ever had—crispy, golden, perfectly flaky. (Basically, if you don’t order them, you’re doing it wrong.) And the staff? Let’s just say they’re the kind of people who make you feel like you’ve been a regular for years, even if it’s your first time through the door.

“We are visiting town from Texas and ran across Irvs burgers in Balboa. Service was friendly and quick. Breakfast burritos was perfect and the patty melt was amazing. Definitely recommend the chili cheese fries as well. The manager was friendly and welcoming! Thank you for your hospitality, quick eat, and delicious ice ice cream!“

“So so good! Their basic house salad had a very clean, delicious taste with a lemon vinaigrette. We also got a cheese pizza and 10/10 would recommend. Was a thin crust pizza but good crispy crust, not too thin. I got a strawberry spritz, non-alcoholic drink that was fresh and my friend got the Espresso Martini. I'd never tried one before but had a sip and will absolutely get it next time, very smooth. The bartender was nice and attentive.“

“I stopped by this spot on the way to dinner over the weekend. Parking was a little limited, but there were plenty of public lots and street parking nearby. The shop is super cute, and I picked up a few cookies: Guava Cheese, KitKat Tiramisu, Ube Coconut Éclair, and Peanut Butter Banana Brûlée.

What I loved most is that they add the toppings fresh after you order! The cookies were soft, flavorful, and had a nice hint of cinnamon. My favorite was the Guava Cheese🤍

The staff were really friendly and explained each flavor. Next time, I want to try their ice cream since I saw a lot of people ordering it!!!“

The outdoor space is cool, trendy, and hip, but not over-the-top. The music pulses, but it’s not a distraction to conversation. I’ve been looking for good places since moving to LA almost 6 months ago. This was one of the few times I wasn’t disappointed.“

“We visit our grandkids (and their parents) from Florida. We stumbled across The Butcher's Daughter in West Hollywood (CA) and it became our faourite restaurant out here in 1 visit. The food is amazing. The actual restaurant is very different in layout but very appealing. The wait staff have all been top of the line. I went there last night with 2 friends that I haven't seen since we all went our separate ways 40 years ago (two are here in CA) and we had a great time. It was a wee bit noisy at night - the mornings are usually a little quieter. We took my grandkids there - 16-month-old twins - and again, the experience was excellent. We are all looking forward to going back again as soon as we can. Charles PS. The Mushroom, quinoa and beet burger with gruyere is completely mental - in a very good way. And if you want your country fries crispy, they will do that too!“

“Harriet’s Rooftop on Sunset Blvd is a stunning spot with amazing views, a stylish vibe, and super cool staff who really elevate the experience. The drinks are well-crafted but definitely on the pricey side, a margarita runs about $32, which is pretty stiff. That said, the atmosphere is worth it for a splurge. Great place for a date night or to impress out-of-towners. Four stars for the service and setting, minus one for the steep prices.“

“Delicious Chinese food with unique menu items all delivered in a fantastic old school Hollywood atmosphere. From the pictures on the wall of the great stars of the past and the booths where Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe and Burt Reynolds hung out, you can feel the history and reminisce about the past. The boa, lettuce wraps, scallion pancakes, fried tofu, and chicken salad all were excellent choices. They also had great drink choices. The only downside was that parking was in a paid parking lot and the restaurant prices were very high.“

Instructions for reheating worked perfectly..although I can’t say my sauce “racing stripe” was as pretty as the Chefs 🤣🤣. Crust was thick and had the perfect crunch, sauce was divine (and I’m not even a big sauce fan), cheese oh so good and the pepperonis were heavenly 😌🍕😋. “The best coffee shop in West Hollywood. Skip Javista. Walk past Bohemia. Forget Thunder Road. Why? The coffee here is made with looove. The back patio is heaven. The indoor space supports creativity and focus. And the owners are always around, smiling, making you feel like the space belongs to you. The coffee is inventive. High quality. I spend over $20 a day on coffee and this is the only place in WeHo that’s worth it.“

“When we got the there they made us wait a bit because our table was not ready even though we were 15 mins late. But when we walked the restaurant there were a bunch of empty tables. When our waiter came to greet us she told us we had to order everything at once because it was complicated to put one order one at a time (again empty restaurant) The food and and drinks were great! I recommend the sashimi pizza and the crispy shrimp. Besides the poor service everything else was good.“

Pizza was good and unique with the hot honey and if you love pizza like I do, you know pineapple goes on pizza. So I definitely tried the honey on the pizza.
