“We eat there once a week I’ll see you on the weekends. The food is so good home style cooking is so much on the plate. It’s hard to finish. Deserts are awesome fried ice cream with chocolate or caramel sopapillas. This is authentic Mexican food the waitresses are the best in the springs I really didn’t want to say how good it was because it’s just a competition for me to sit and I felt I owed it to them for giving us so much enjoyment and the great food. You just have to try it to understand John C Simmons II G.G.J keep the faith and stay 100Parking: 30or more easy access great hours great prices”
“Drop the mic. Stop here! This is the best place for Mexican. The Acacado Pork burritos are the bomb. Smothered in green chili and topped with lettuce and cheese you cant go wrong. The enchiladas are great as well. The chili rellenos are small, but the price is right and they are good. Sweet tea hit the spot.Parking: Bummer about paid street parking. Blame the city of Colorado springs, not the businesses.”
“What a great experience! We decided to have breakfast at Rudy's because there were so many cars parked in their parking lot. Am I glad we did. We were seated right away, even though the place was busy. The menu offered traditional American breakfast options, but they also have traditional Mexican breakfast choices. The breakfast tacos were delicious, but the best part of the whole experience was our server Omar aka Speedy Gonzales. He was hilarious!! This guy could put anyone in a good mood. We will go back, maybe for lunch next time!”
“Without a doubt, the best breakfast burrito in Colorado Springs!!! I like to get the chicken avocado smothered in the hot green chili! I always get excited when I'm on this side of town, Quijote's is my favorite place for the BEST BREAKFAST BURRITO IN COLORADO SPRINGS!!”
“My daughter has been trying to get me to go here for so long and for some reason i just thought I would just be wasting my money. Anyway went there on Saturday and had the cornea asada street tacosAnd OMG,!!! they were the freaking bomb. I have been thong about them ever since then...I will definitely be back real soon...I haven't had the nerve to tell my daughter that I went without her but when I go back it will be with her and I will act like it was my first time...??”
“100% the best Tex Mex in the springs. We’ve tried plenty while out here and been disappointed by something each time. The salsa is perfect with multiple spice options for those that want heat. Chili replenish was the perfect size and had a green chili sauce that competes with the best of them. The biggest surprise for us though was the molcajete. It was huge, and had the best flavor we’ve tasted in one so far. The rice and beans were mid but it doesn’t detract from everything else being flavored perfectly. I’m done testing new places this is the spot.”
“Top-notch across the board! Our server was helpful and knowledgeable, but more than that he did a wonderful job of making us FEEL welcomed. The food was fresh...I mean it not only looked fresh, but tasted fresh. That means someone is taking time to pick out the best ingredients for our dinner, and then cooking it fresh and hot with the perfect seasonings. Not surprisingly, even the chips served when we sat down were nice and fresh. I have to say we thought the salsa was too spicy, but we're not accustomed to heavy/hot spices. Nevertheless, the did also bring a bowl of refried beans which were a perfect compliment to the salsa and gave the option for those like us who prefer something less spicy. The guacamole wasn't jacked up with tons of jalapeno (making it too spicy for us). I will admit that the guacamole came with two chips inserted into the top for decoration, and they evidently had been in there a while because they were a little soggy where the chip had been in contact too long with the guacamole, BUT the guac itself was tasty and fresh. The atmosphere was perfect for us. Nicely decorated, clean, with some background music which wasn't being played to blast out our eardrums! We like to have a conversation when we go out to eat, but often the noise from other clients or the music interferes with that desired option. I even noticed that they did a great job of spacing people out so that there was usually a table between places where people sat so you could enjoy some privacy. Finally, the food was well-priced. It wasn't super-cheap, and also not super-expensive. These people KNOW what they're doing, and have a good clientele because Price/Quality/Service/Atmosphere were all very well balanced.Probably why they've been in business so long. I told our waiter how much we liked the food, and that we would DEFINITELY be back for more. This will now be our go-to place to eat for Mexican food, and I highly recommend you give them a try.”
“Incredible food, got the barbacao and such great depth flavor, super tender and generous portion. The mango chamoy margarita took my breath away and made me forget to take pictures! Great servers, nice, attentive, knowledgeable! Will definitely be back.”
“Very interesting flavors. The prices are a tad on the high side. Quality is what you'd expect. The atmosphere is simple. Lots of parking and fun music playing. There is a side room with extra privacy booths and a couple of larger tables.I tried their burger, which was strange but good. It's like a part burger, part hot dog with pineapple slice and sauce. I'm not sure if I would order it again, but it hit some kind of spot. The fries weren't excellent, but they are better than say, In and Out fries, which are horrible. Will I be back? Maybe! There is loads of competition in the area, ao we'll see! Worth mentioning the smothered burrito is quite large!”
“We usually get take out from Zapatas, which is always great. However, we dined in the other night and it was amazing. The crispy and soft rellenos were outstanding. But the zapata fries, just incredible. Delicious as takeout, but so much better dining in. The service here is always great and everyone is so very friendly. Great work, Zapata on Voyager!”
“This place is always great. Beware, it's loud. Enjoy all the tv's to watch sports. Service is usually most excellent. Food is super yummy! Their cheese sauce is AWESOME and I can't get enough! I enjoy tge shrimp tacos. Hubby loves the shredded beef enchiladas. Plenty of wonderful choices. There is a bar and some great drink options, too.”
“BEST TACO TRUCK I HAVE TRIED IN COLORADO. It’s hard to find actual good Mexican food here in the state and this taco truck is just perfect. I tried the queso birria tacos y era perfecto! Tambien con Los tacos de Barbacoa!! The horchata btw..best horchata I’ve also tried here in the springs. Perfect bit of everything. They deserve more customers and I’ll be back for sure!!????”
“We ate here a few weeks ago and had a pretty good experience. The parking is shared with some other businesses, but seems to be adequate and the restaurant, itself, is quite small, but clean and pretty well kept. In our case, the service was quite poor - one lady was doing everything, so it's possible that this was an isolated incident and they were short on people... but we did have to ask for drinks and other things multiple times. It also took a very long time to get food ordered and to receive it. The biggest issue, though, was that my wife is 8 months pregnant, so the bathroom is particularly important to her and the women's bathroom got unintentionally locked right before she entered and stayed locked the whole time we were there (after my wife mentioned it to the staff early-on, nothing changed - she ended up using the men's bathroom twice). The food, on the other hand, was quite good and we definitely enjoyed it...and that's the most important thing. I feel that the prices are pretty on-point to where they should be: not super cheap, but reasonable. I would say that we will surely be visiting again and trying out more of their menu!”
“You know you're in the right place because they're pressing the tortillas and finishing them on a flat top. This place had me wondering if I should get seconds, not because it wasn't enough food but because it was so delicious.Vegetarian options: My gf is a veggie she was pleased to know they had vegetarian rice and beans, she also loaded up with grilled onions”
“What a great little place! Eric took our order and he was amazing - great customer service all around. My husband and I both ordered the taco plate and it was delicious. I had carnitas (my favorite) and shredded beef and he had all steak. It came with cilantro and onions, red and green sauces, rice and beans. The meat was delicious and not fatty at all, which earned an A+ with me. We will definitely be back!Dietary restrictions: GF”
“I usually don't eat the same place twice...but I can't even count how many times I've eaten at Monica's!I'm fun California so I'm picky with Mexican and their tacos, steak quesadilla, tostada and nachos are all great! 1 taco fills me up and I'm a big eater. I always have enough for 2-3 meals with the nachos/quesadillas and the salsa roja is so good!”
“Loved this food truck! Ordered the barbacoa tacos and they were soooo tasty! Hot, fresh, and made to order. Loved the spicy red salsa that came with the tacos. Can’t wait to go back and try other menu items!Parking: Pretty much in the Walgreens parking lot.”
“Do not miss this hidden gem tucked away in a commerical area. Fantastic food! Had the flautas with chicken and everything was perfect: Fresh chicken and perfectly fried tortillas. Value was great for what we ordered.Looking forward to our next visit soon!”
“Yum! The soft tacos were delicious! I really like the ease of ordering off the wall menu & then sitting down. It makes it feel more laid back & there's no server to wait for or interrupt. The self-service salsa bar is excellent. I like the verde. Just have extra napkins, because it's a little greasy, but oh so good.”
“First time here and me and my family loves this place. It won our heart over and my husband is very picky. I got the taco, enchilada and tamale, my mother in law got the azzor pollo plate and my husband got steak sirloin carnitas. Delicious and great Atmosphere.”
“This Taco shop is near a military base, so you can feel pretty Safe here. I had fish tacos. They were good and authentic Mexican style. The fish was breaded and deep-fried a tad too much, so a little ding there. The whole restaurant was superior and clean. The employees were outstanding and polite. The price was fair at about $15 for three fish tacos. Overall, a solid A.”
“This is one of the better taco trucks I’ve ever been to, and the service was top notch! What food truck have you been to with top notch service? I was in the middle of a long bike ride with a friend and Maco stuck his head out the window to regularly check on us, offered to take our trash, made sure all the food was food, and more. Wish I could hit this every day.”
“One of the best restaurants in the Springs. Ask for Elisa, she’s incredible. Went for a friends bday and was surprised by high quality and great vibes on a Sunday night. Definitely recommend the OMFG taco! Food: 5 stars. Atmosphere: 5 stars. Service: 5 stars.”
“This place makes great authentic Mexican food and has a good verity of fresh fruits and vegetables. I also like the grill cooked food they have cooking outside every day. Great for a fast freshly cooked lunch. The people are always very friendly and helpful.”
“*Great Taste*Huge Portions*Inedible tasting water (I had to spit it out)*Super sweet horchata*Delicious Pollo Asados fries*Cheery kind staff*Gluten free options*Slow service*Staff were singing so happily*Kind of pricey*Nice decor*A little bit crowded7/10”
“The cashier was friendly and product knowledgeable. The restaurant is clean, well lit, and quiet. The food was served quickly and was hot.I really like this place and highly recommend you try it for yourself.Parking: There is plenty of free parking.”
“I recently dined at Tbyrd's Tacos & Tequila and I must say, it was an exceptional experience! The food was simply amazing, bursting with flavor and freshness. Every dish seemed crafted with care and expertise. The drinks were equally impressive. The variety of tequilas they offer is unparalleled, and the cocktails were expertly mixed. It's evident that the bartenders take pride in their craft.I also had the pleasure of meeting the manager, Jules, who left a lasting impression on me. Her professionalism and dedication to ensuring every customer has a fantastic experience was truly commendable. She went above and beyond to ensure our visit was memorable.Overall, Tbyrd's Tacos & Tequila is a gem in the culinary scene. Whether you're a taco aficionado or a tequila connoisseur, this place is a must-visit. I can't wait to return and explore more of their menu. Kudos to the entire team for creating such a delightful dining experience! ???”
“Sonora’s is indisputably quality Colorado Mexican food. They serve REAL beans. The style your grandma makes in the pressure cooker, that melt in your mouth. Birria/Barbacoa/Quesa tacos are excellent with the provided Consomé/Au Jus and leave your throat feeling a little cooked in flavor by the hot oil. Breakfast burritos are better than fast food chains. When I order my wife a burrito with no meat, they verbally verify when handing off the order. The only thing they’re missing here is Fideo (vermicelli)!Meat market counter has many options for home recipes. Beef is USDA Prime grade. In addition there are shelves with many household grocery staples. Good place to buy Mexican candy. There are two racks full of dried peppers and spices. I noticed there was a lot more variety of dried peppers than a regular grocer. Aside from guajillos and anchos, they had morugas, piquinos, etc. I noticed the guajillos were well dried. They leathery with a slight softness and didn’t crack and shatter.”
“Our first time ordering from a food truck since moving to Colorado Springs and it was AMAZING! Staff were super friendly, pollo and asada tacos were delicious, and my husband loved the California burrito. We topped it off with some yummy churros. Highly recommend! ?”
“Great place to get my mexican food fix. My family and I live in Aurora Colorado. We drive all the way to colorado springs just to eat hereParking: There are plenty of places to parkKid-friendliness: They have a lot of options on the menu for kidsWheelchair accessibility: They have wheelchair accessible parking.”
“Excellent breakfast for 10 people in the party. Food was plentiful and all at the correct temperatures. The group was large but the food arrived in a timely fashion and everyone was pleased. Would recommend for anyone. Great place to hang out for breakfast.”
“It's always a great place to eat. It's also conveniently located right off I-25 and is surrounded by some of the best restaurants, stores, attractions, and the Air Force Academy. Vaqueros has great views and a patio as well. They also have a full bar and daily specials. It's definitely one of my Colorado Springs area restaurant favorites. You can't go wrong here. Thank you.”
“Update September 2023:Finally able to eat all 6 tamales that were specially made with my allergies in mind. Every. Single. One was DELICIOUS! I wish I could afford to get these weekly because oh my goodness they are so good! However, will definitely have Lorena make more for a special occasion!”
“Very tasty, try the roll taco and they were delish.. Fish Taco was a little over cooked for my taste .4 years later, I am changing my review. Went to Taco express last night and ordered Chicken quesadilla and a smothered burrito . The Chicken Quesadilla was so spicy:hot there was no way a child could eat this not a adult that can not handle this level of spicy mess.. The burrito was the same and my man can handle a lot of hot spicy food. Both of us have severe pain this morning and we didn’t even finish our food last night.Taco express, your Chicken is way too hot and we hope you change your recipe back to its original flavor .. mild!!”
“Hole in the wall type of place that makes you feel like you’re walking into your grandma’s old kitchen. Amazing people and huge portions of literally some of the best food- of any style- in the Springs.A bit of trip for me, which is probably good or I’d go broke on the quesabirras. A definite must try.”
“Extremely flavorful!Best Mexican food I've ever had!I had the chicken enchiladas and the red sauce on them had an amazing depth of flavor. The roasted green chili sauce was fire! So good! My husband had a huge mound of carnitas that was very flavorful as well. The food was piping hot! The employees were attentive, kind, and professional. Nice dinner out! Thank you!”
“Really delicious food, tons of different options than a "normal" Mexican place. While our server was very sweet to our kiddos, I wouldn't recommend this place for small kids who are picky. Not the restaurant's fault, but just a heads up for parents.”
“We came an hour before closing on a busy Friday night and still didn't wait long to be seated. The service was friendly and great, and the food was PHENOMENAL. It wasn't just good, it was on an entirely different level of greatness.”
“I go on Sunday every now and then for their Menudo. Probably the best in Colorado Springs. The location looks sketch at first glance but once you are inside its ok, not anything special. Just a hole in the wall with great food and awesome service! I do enjoy my time while there and I’m not picky about the venue as long as the food is good… and it is!!”
“Tacos are some of the few in town that remind me of home (las Vegas) tripa, asada, pastor, and bierria are all recommend!!! Their green salsa is a bit on the spicy side but a good mild flavor.Sadly, government caused inflation is hitting everyone hard, especially the food industry, so their tacos are around $3 each. Still the cheapest I've found so far.”
“Let me tell you this place is absolutely amazing the Barbacoa tacos are unmatched this is the type of place you are happy to give tips the lady behind the register is always very kind the red sauce is amazing aswell I would buy a whole bottle if I could”
“I ordered carne asada tacos. They were good and the service was fast. It's a little hole in the wall kind of place so there's not a lot of room to stay and eat. There is a couple of tables if that's what you want. I was already planning on taking my food to go so it worked out. The green salsa was the most flavorful and paired well with the tacos.”
“Never have an issue allows good food. I dont have an issue they raised there prices with the economy it only makes sense what i have an issue with is they still many many months later have not updated your menu board. Also they can never understand what you say at the drive thru very well. But i eat here at least once a ”
“As soon as I walked into the restaurant, the staff was very friendly. This is the first time we have come here and it will definitely not be the last. I 100% recommend coming here for some good Mexican food. Our food came out fast and hot. The staff consistently came to check on us to see how we were doing while eating and asked if we needed anything else.”
“The place is great. I went because I had to take a small break from work . I ordered two asada tacos and it was delicious . It took like three minutes for my order to be done .The quality of the food was great didn't expect the tacos to taste so good. I will definitely try it again.”
“My husband and I came here for a second time. I ordered the house Margarita. It was neon yellow, and very obviously from a mix. It tasted horrible, so I asked the bartender to replace it with the jalapeno pineapple Margarita which was so much better. The mild salsa tasted like canned tomatoes, and the "spicy" salsa was the same with a tiny hint of spice. My shrimp tacos were good, and my husband was happy with his fajita burrito. Not amazing, but certainly not bad.”
“This place is deceivingly amazing. Clean environment and quick to get your order out if you're in a hurry. The food! Wow. I've had the tacos and burritos. Tacos are stuffed full and have a lot of flavor. They also have a station to pick your own veggies and salsas. The burritos are massive. Great amount for the cost. This is always my go to if I'm looking for a small taco shop with high quality eats. Highly highly recommend.”
“Here for a weekend getaway, definitely plan to go back! All items are very good portions, ordered queso, beef enchilada, chicken chalupa, chicken fajita burrito, rice and beans with both meals. Not a fan of the chicken, kind of sweet. Queso has jalapeño spice to it and enchilada beef had spice as well but not unbearable heat. Rice was awesome!”
“A friend took me who had been going here for over 20 years. Fabulous and generous portions. You can tell all is made from scratchShhh ...don't tell everyone people were parked outside waiting for it to openVegetarian options: Cheese enchiladas and chili rellano smothered in sauce wit beans and rice. Excellent”
“The food was absolutely delicious! Definitely recommend! 3 different kinds of salsa with your chips and our fave was the blackened tomato sauce kind and the pico. The only thing I found weird is they don't serve Horchata. ??♀️But it was good food!”
