“3 companions and I dined at Populaire Modern Bistro in South Coast Plaza on 2/21/24 and I ordered the prix fixe menu. We bought a bottle of wine separately. The PF menu was $65 per person and well worth it. Everything was spectacular. The blending of flavors with the heirloom carrots was unique. I'm not normally a huge fan of tartare normally, but it was really flavorful. The beef cheek was melt-in-your-mouth tender and even the rice pudding - which I can normally take or leave - had some wonderful, unexpected flavors. Don't be fooled by the "bistro" label. This was definitely a cut above the normal bistro fare of steak and frites or Croque Monsieur.Our server was warm and efficient. She was friendly enough to stop and talk but took her cue from us, which was much appreciated. The location used to be part of the Corner Bakery chain. It was remodeled in part, but it's in South Coast Plaza mall so not a ton of atmosphere. Once you taste the food, you won't care!”

“Wow. I forgot how good Maggiano's was. We started with the crab cakes which were delicious. I had the Mom's Lasagna which was great. My son had the Chicken Piccata which looked good. We also had a chopped salad and tiramisu for dessert. All excellent. Our server was perfect. For $6 each we then had a pasta dish to take home. For $6 the lasagna was a good deal.”

The restaurant is clean, but a little clustered, but what matters the most is the food. I was really impressed with their soup dumpling. “I don't even like ice cream, it's one of my least favorite desserts. But you know what? I was HUMBLED. Stella Jean is THAT girl!!! Not to be the person that's like "sweet but not too sweet", but the ice cream here is truly that. I tried the Ube Pandesal, Mango Sticky Rice, and seasonal Earl Grey Tea Cake, and they all popped off. Rich, creamy, fun (you get the pandesal and rice element in the respective flavors) -- but without being grossly saccharine. We stan Stella!!!”

I'm currently pregnant so we were offered options to satisfy my cravings, my husband got his options too and everything tasted so good. The sushi chefs were so organized and personable and taking in the moments with all us different parties at the sushi bar. the staff was so attentive, I never had to ask for a refill and when we left we were kindly thanked and asked about my pregnancy. Would definitely recommend”

“I went in with my boyfriend and our dog, we sat in the patio and had a great time.We also got to meet the Excecutive Chef and Owner, Zach. He has done an excellent job developing his menu!We had the Slow Braised Short Rib, Pepperd Ribeye Steak, Crispy Chicken Tender, and the Charred Sweet Potato tacos. We ordered a side of Guacamole, and a Charred Jalapeño Margarita. Everything was absolutely delicious, specially the Ribeye taco!I will definitely come back with friends and family!”

“We LOVE Seasons 52! Although we live near LAX, whenever we find ourselves in Costa Mesa and deciding where to eat, Seasons 52 is ALWAYS our first choice! This time was no exception. We had the BBQ Shrimp flatbread and each had the 6 oz wood fire-grilled filet with asparagus and mashed potatoes with wine sauce. We came close to licking our plates! It was delicious. We topped off our meal by making selections from the mini-indulgence choices. The perfect amount of sweet at the end of a yummy meal! Even though we made our reservations many days in advance, our only choice was to eat outside. Although a little chilly for us, every effort was made to help us be comfortable by moving heaters close to us.”

“The husband and I visited this place today. We were hanging with some friends from Tennessee on zoom and thought it only appropriate to get some Nashville hot chicken. I've seen Dave's since it entered this plaza and seen multiple locations pop up. The service here was friendly and the cashier even got us little tasting cups of the spice so we could determine what spice level to get. I got spicy and my husband got medium. We both ordered the combo #3 slider and tender with fries. The reason we ordered so much is because when you hear the word slider, don't you think of something small? Perhaps the size of your fist... well it's bigger! They should just call it a chicken sandwich! First few bites was tasty but as I got to the mid point, I decided this style of thick breading is not my favorite. The heavy amount of seasoning as well as the fact that it's a bit sweet was just not something I cared for personally. I enjoyed everything including the fries, pickles and sauce but personally wouldn't come back. I guess I'm a Chick Fil A girl at heart (of course today is a Sunday).”

Plenty of parking and a nice setup when you go inside. Seating is available outside or inside.On to the food. I loved the breakfast burrito. Not greasy like other places, the pico de gallo was very fresh and specifically prepared to not make the burrito soggy. One of the best breakfast burritos I’ve ever had! We also had sausage dumplings that were awesome.The service was excellent and the prices were reasonable. Highly recommend checking out Atomic Cafe, I plan to make it a regular stop.Parking: Convenient spots available right in front of the restaurant.Wheelchair accessibility: Atomic is on the first floor with good wheelchair access. The sidewalk could be a little narrow but doable. High and low tables available.”

“Great udon spot. Tastes authentic, though I've never had authentic udon in Japan. My girlfriend is Japanese and she says 4 stars! I always want to try the other udons or soba, but I can't say no to the shabu shabu udon, max spice. Max spice has heat but not too much for someone who regularly eats spicy foods. I love their appetizer selection, some real unique and classic options like raw octopus, braised pork, or fried chicken and gizzard. Tasty!”

“Amazing Valentine’s weekend dinner! Six courses made for a most Indulgent Aphrodisiac’s menu created by Chef Tony. The plating was exquisite, service very attentive, and relatively low-carb, very copicetic with my diabetic precautions. The French Chardonnay we had enjoyed was lovely, paired well particularly with the scallop crudo, oyster and lobster dishes. It was also a pleasure to meet and chat with Yassmin, the co-owner and wife of Chef Tony. We are planning to dine here again, next time for The restaurant’s High Tea, which is offered on Sunday afternoons.”

“I happened to stop by one day after lunch at Kitakata and was very pleasantly surprised. I've been a few times now and have tried their Kiwi Basil Green Tea and Strawberry Overload. Both have real fruit and are incredibly refreshing. As with other boba places, you can adjust the sweetness level. Service is professional and efficient, and the interior is clean and welcoming. Will likely be my go-to dessert place after ramen at Kitakata! Highly recommend a visit.”

“I stumbled upon this modern looking coffee spot hidden away in a plaza, and it was an awesome find! The pastries immediately caught my eye, each one looking extremely vibrant and rich. I got an iced chai, which was rich with a complex blend of spices. I feel like chais at other coffee shops are pretty plain when it comes to the blend of spices, but that is definitely not the case with this place. One thing that really stood out is how each drink was carefully handcrafted with attention to detail. Angel who was working at that time looked like a true artisan with how meticulous he was with every detail. The only slight letdown was the honey used as the sweetener. It wasn't quite to my taste, but that's more about personal preference than it is quality. I'll be back to try their golden ratio which is a turmeric latte and some of those irresistible looking pastries.”

Our party of four all shared the shishito peppers, Bahn mi, burgers, crudo (not HH), but the best thing we had were the Brussel sprouts! “This place has been around for a long time, and there's good reason why, when most fast food restaurants go out of business in a few years. I first ate here almost 20 years ago when I lived in the area. I left many years ago but whenever I am in the area, I still make it a point to go have their chicken burrito. It is that awesome. The burrito consists of just shredded chicken with sauce wrapped in tortilla. No rice, beans or anything else. That's what makes it so unique, and honestly, the best tasting burrito I've ever had. Highly recommended for Mexican food lovers.”

The back outdoor seating was in a gorgeous tucked away garden area with native plants growing and buzzing bees. It was so relaxing and great for Sunday morning brunch photos. Food: My meal was delicious. I had a breakfast biscuit with cheese, eggs, and bacon on their cheddar cheese and chive biscuit. The biscuit was so flaky and buttery. The sandwich itself was very big! “This has been on my list forever and I decided last minute while i was off my diet to come here. It's a very small place and it got crowded real quick. Definitely come here early cuz you'll have to wait for a table. I did remember that you can't adjust the spiciness to your bowl so be aware if you're sensitive to the heat. I got the Deluxe and it was everything I imagined it to be. They gave a cute mini ball of rice at the end to soak up the leftover yummy sauce. I took the rest home, the bowl is very heavy and I just couldn't finish it but it's okay because I looked forward to eating it the next day.”

“This is my favorite restaurant! I loved it back when it was on Bristol, but I have been back to the new Red Hill location twice now and it is even more of a special dining experience. Massimo has come out to explain the history of the wine and food and the sources of his ingredients. He tells wonderful stories with a great sense of humor, and his daughter who helps serve is also very knowledgeable and delightful. I feel transported and hosted in a way I have never experienced in a restaurant. The food is amazing. The fresh handmade pasta melts in your mouth. There was literally no wait at 3 pm but come soon... Once word gets out this place will have a 45 min wait just like the mother location on Bristol.”

“No more Umami burgers, but tacos and burritos.Such a cute new scenery. It has beach-barrio vibes with the old school Coca-Cola tin tables that you would see down in Cabo but with a brick wall surrounding and the typical taco stand look.We had the burritos for breakfast and they were great. The mushroom burrito is definitely for mushroom lovers and/or vegetarians since they can be overpowering in the flavor. My boyfriend had the grilled chicken and he said it was better than pollo locos burritos.Their house-made chips and guacamole is delicious. Overall it was a really good experience.”

“I happened to stop by one day after lunch at Kitakata and was very pleasantly surprised. I've been a few times now and have tried their Kiwi Basil Green Tea and Strawberry Overload. Both have real fruit and are incredibly refreshing. As with other boba places, you can adjust the sweetness level. Service is professional and efficient, and the interior is clean and welcoming. Will likely be my go-to dessert place after ramen at Kitakata! Highly recommend a visit.”

Not to be the person that's like "sweet but not too sweet", but the ice cream here is truly that. I tried the Ube Pandesal, Mango Sticky Rice, and seasonal Earl Grey Tea Cake, and they all popped off. “My favorite kidney flower is made here with pickled pepper flavor and sauerkraut in it. The kidney flower is also very fresh and tender. The only drawback is that the kidney flower content is too little, the knife skills are lacking, and the thickness and size of the kidney flower are very irregular. The beef in the Boiled Beef and Fat Sausage Double Combo was a very thin slice of meat, not marinated for flavor, and the meat selected was relatively poor; the cold vegetable scallion chicken was a tender chicken, which was not flavorful enough, and the presentation was not bad. This small restaurant is Sichuan cuisine eaten by Chinese people. It is not catered to foreigners, but the spicy taste is mild, so it is suitable for spicy beginners.”
