“Love the relaxing atmosphere! We were able to enjoy a couple of Trivia Nights which were incredibly fun. The neighbors complaints put a stop to those 🤬🙄 The coffee is amazing! I cannot recommend their food because of the teeny tiny portions. I had a pricy salad that equaled to about two cups of greens & at most a 1/3 of a portobello mushroom cap. I went home & ate since I was starving! Note: I had the salad sans goat cheese. An increased amount of the other two ingredients would have been appreciated!“

“What a warm and wholesome vibe, and very authentic middle eastern food! The staff is so friendly and the Arabic coffee wakes me up like nothing else. Even being a customer at Havenly makes you a part of their commendable mission - to create space for international cultures“

“From start to finish an incredible and unique experience. The Chef greeted us at the door, complimentary champagne while waiting, beautiful scents everywhere, open kitchen platform to witness the culinary skill. Eli took great care of us, service was warm and timely. The restaurant was busy and bustling but we didn't wait long for anything- food was course by Chef and came out in a timely and well thought out manner. The tuna appetizer was one of the best thing's I've ever eaten. Complimentary palette cleanser was a beautiful touch. So many details that you don't get dining out often in New Haven. This is a great spot to celebrate something special.“

“We’ve been going here for about 4 years and are never disappointed. My husband and I love their Spanish options (best huevos rancheros I’ve been able to find outside of New York), but they also have eggs, pancakes, and other “classic” items. And this is just their breakfast menu! Their lunch items are just as delicious. The staff is incredibly friendly, service is fast even on a busy day, we LOVE all of the sauces on every table, it’s always clean, and they add new dishes pretty often to keep their menu fresh. Can’t say enough good things about them!“

“During lunch break from having to serve jury duty I found this coffee shop down the street and decided to pop in. The two behind the counter were very friendly and inviting, and the special grilled cheese with tomato or bacon with soup was PERFECT . the chicken corn chowder came out piping hot and didn't even need any salt or pepper. I'm usually skeptical when someone has to make my coffee instead of me doing it, but unlike dunkin donuts the gentleman made it just right! they seem to have a familiar and friendly customer fan base, and I would definitely go back again.“
“This very friendly and unassuming place seems to be very popular with both locals and tourists alike. The drawing factors are the friendly service and superb quality of their ice cream made by the owners from the best ingredients. There is a cozy space indoors and a couple of tables outside in an alley. We only had their great ice cream but they also specialize in sandwiches..Calypso is part of A H Rise Mall.. \nThe owners have a very friendly and welcoming approach to their patrons.\nI want to come back each time I am in Charlotte Amalie.!“

“The almond croissant was the best part of our trip to Connecticut! Crunchy on the outside with plenty of almonds and a dusting of powdered sugar and flaky on the inside with the most amazing and plentiful almond filling. The staff was super friendly and engaged with my daughter and her stuffed dog. This will be my first stop whenever I return the area“

“Came to do trivia visiting from San Diego, CA. I gotta say what a good time! They have great food, greater drinks and impeccable service. Our server was Michelle and she was fantastic! We ordered the fish and chips and the turkey sub with fries. Both were delightful! We came in last place for trivia and got a consolation prize! ? Great times, good food, good people. Highly recommend for a casual night out for food and drinks!“

“Every time I visit New Haven, G Café is one of my favorite stops. It has that cozy, small-town café charm that instantly makes you feel at home.
This time, I went in hoping to get some work done, and it didn’t disappoint. There were others working too, which created a nice focused vibe. The free Wi-Fi and sunny window view made it an ideal spot to spend the afternoon.
I ordered the ham and cheese quiche—absolutely perfect—and paired it with an iced latte (requested with less ice, and to my surprise, they actually followed through!). For just $14, I got great food, great coffee, and a peaceful three-hour work session. Definitely a spot I want to come back to.“

“Open Door Tea 🫖 is the quintessential Tea Room located in the heart of New England. What makes it so special? The cosy and inviting atmosphere, the variety of charming tea cups complete with saucers, the comfy & varied seating, friendly staff, the availability of tea-things for purchase, the house-made menu items including breakfast, lunch, high tea and delectable sweet treat (vegan options are always available) and last but certainly not least, the best selection of teas. After your first visit want to return again and again.“

“It's definitely a hole in the wall, but the food is on point, always fresh! The salom is the best I've ever had!Daily specials, and don't bother asking for a menu. There isn't one!The place changes at night, so don't bring the kids after dark!“

“I visited this spot for lunch.\n\nIt has a large dining area with lots of tables and chair.\n\nTheir menu offers hot and cold options including soups.\n\nPrices are about par with the other cafes in neighboring office buildings.\n\nI had a wrap sandwich with a small soup and drink for $9. Both the wrap and soup were good.\n\nFriendly service.“
“The woman working was super sweet and let me call in my order and even brought it out to me since I had two toddlers sound asleep and didn’t want to wake them up. Completely recommend“
“We had oysters on half shells for antipasto and a lobster fettuccine and a branzino (which came with sauteed spinach and purple potatoes) for main courses, then finished with a berries cheesecake.\n\nNow the oysters were so good that we ordered another four. Then my husband had a bite of the fettuccine and told me, it's so good he felt like flying with wings. Which made me wonder what he meant, so I had a bite. The parsley worked magically with the lobster, and the fettuccine was done perfectly. And the lobster was succulent and sweet.\n\nNow back to my branzino. I actually never liked branzino the fish, mainly for its boring texture and taste. I ordered it just because I felt adventurous today, really. But this one surprised me. The crushed pistachios somehow worked wonders with the branzino, hah! And the sauteed spinach, as well as the grilled purple potatoes, were mind blowing. I will go back, if not for the lobster fettuccine, only for the spinach and the purple potatoes.\n\nOh, and we had a side of sauteed broccoli rabe which was no less miraculous than the spinach and purple potatoes. We agreed that this is a restaurant we'll visit again soon.\n\nThe dessert was a neat finish to the fulfilling meal. This was a happy, rainy evening.\n\nOh and we loved Francesco. We had servers who would constantly make remarks or gestures that left guests feeling bothered and uneasy, but Francesco was just right. He's so cordial and effective, always there when we thought to look up but never intrusive or inhospitable for the sake of being hospitable. I guess he's also part of the reason we felt so comfortable dining there.“
“Mambo provides very good Central American food, such as the seafood mutongos (different cooked seafoods inside a nice cornmeal cup). The back patio has scenic wharf side views of both the Thames River traffic going by and a stream of Amtrak trains on the North East Corridor. A good choice for a quick lunch after visiting the nearby New London Customs House Museum.“
