“I’ve been a regular here since Day 1 and I can’t believe I didn’t post a review until NOW!! What can I say, it’s the best seafood in West Haven HANDS DOWN! The oysters are fresh, the lobster rolls are the best, and the mussels for 2 is so flavorful. The staff are like family and welcome you with open arms. For drinks, I recommend the manhattans, old fashioned, espresso martinis and dirty martini with the blue cheese stuffed olives (YUM!). Their Moby’s lager is delicious and there’s a great selection of tequila. The bartenders are the best around! My favorite dishes are the lobster Mac, Lobster Rolls, Tuna Sushimi Oysters, Oysters Rockefeller, and tuna tartare. Trust me, you will not be disappointed with your dining experience! “They had the food truck at RiverFest today, and although I had lobster last night and was torn between the lobster roll or fish and chips (which I have been craving), I ordered the lobster roll. It was so good and full of delicious and perfectly cooked, buttery lobster! The roll was toasted to perfection and not soaked down with butter. It was so good! Price is reasonable as it comes with fries and coleslaw (which was also delicious!) Extremely friendly staff and very attentive to your ordering! 10/10 from me! “I've been stopping at the Sandbar for a couple years now, My usual Go to items are whole belly clam rolls or dinner and a Scallop roll or dinner The seafood is always cooked to order, Battered and deep fried and is always delicious While the restaurant might not seem spectacular to some, its a nice place to pop into if you like battered seafood not overcooked but just perfectly cooked its easy to miss leaving elm st if you get on the Kimberly Ave Bridge into New Haven you went past, coming from New Haven cross the bridge and its right at the foot of the bridge on the right side“

“My husband and I went here for the first time yesterday, and the food was 🔥🔥🔥! Everything was SO good and full of flavor. I had white rice with bacalao (codfish) with yucca, and my hubby had the yellow rice with pernil. We both loved our meals. The pernil was delicious, and my bacalao was on point and it definitely hit the spot!

The owner was so personable, welcoming and really made us feel at home. You can tell there’s a lot of love and pride behind the food and the way people are treated.

Needless to say, we WILL be back! Good Puerto Rican food, good portions and good people.

Found out there was a second (original ) location in Stratford, On the phone they told us to come right over, they were waiting for us. “I stopped here for dinner after shopping at Bass Pro Shops/Cabelas, it was a good little find. I had some clam chowder and steamed clams, both were very good, they had good beer on tap too. Place had a good blue collar New England fisherman feel to it, great bartender, and its location felt like the kind of place which may be next to the dock the seafood is unloaded at. I’ll be back especially if riding my motorcycle on the CT turnpike as this place also appeared very friendly towards bikers.“

Two of our party had their chairs collapse (and no, they were not obese). Waitress was lovely, however, walked into the restaurant to use the bathroom to find several other waitresses loudly talking about how annoged they were by our table. Went back in to let my son use the restroom and they were speaking badly about another table. needless to say, wont be back. which sucks because our boat is there.“
