“My friend and I took a girls road trip today and ended up in New Castle. We decided to try Jessop's Tavern for lunch and absolutely loved it. Friendly warm atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious lunch! So glad we decided to stop in. We will definitely be back!”

“Absolutely delicious! I ordered the brown stew with peas, rice, and cabbage lunch special, and the portion was perfect. The flavors were incredible—especially the rice, which tasted like it was cooked in coconut milk, adding to the authenticity of the meal. I also tried their beef patties, and they were just as tasty. I’m officially hooked and can’t wait to come back and explore more from the menu!”

“We randomly stopped at the New Castle Farmers Market on a drive elsewhere and randomly happened upon Los Jarritos and thought it was some of the best authentic Mexican we’ve had on the east coast (don’t you love it when that happens?).

We split a burrito with pork and green sauce and a chicken tamal. The burrito was better than the tamal but we still thoroughly enjoyed both.

The pork in the burrito was exceptional - and the red and green hot sauces were an ideal complement.

Chips and salsa were also delicious - can’t tell if they were included or not but our total bill including a Mexican coke was less than $16.

Stopping at this flea market felt like a portal to another world for us out-of-towners, but we enjoyed the experience and would happily go back to Los Jarritos.”

“While I like most of Stoltzfus’s items, I’ve been disappointed in their chicken salad. It used to be a staple in our home but seems like they’ve changed the recipe. It’s now so runny with mayo (or whatever they use) that it plops right off our sandwiches. They’ve also seem to cut back on the celery which added a nice contrasting crunch. Please bring back the old recipe.”

After this engaging conversation, I all the more wanted to buy at least one thing from the store (I hate to go into a small store and not buy anything). Initially, I couldn´t find anything that met my particular interests. Then, I came across a Qing dynasty coin, which I happily bought. I hope this store offers more foreign currency in the future.”

“First time to the shop and it was amazing experience. Everyone was so friendly. I got back to my hotel room and started eatting and with every bite I felt more at peice. The bread is good, the meat is sliced thin and is beautiful. The muffins with the extra butter made me think I was in heaven. Its a great place to grab your next meal or snack.”
