“My wife, mother-in-law, and I enjoyed a fantastic Mother’s Day brunch at Edward’s in Rosemary Beach. They’re typically only open for dinner, but we were fortunate to experience one of their special daytime brunches—and it was a standout from start to finish! Jimmy, the GM, welcomed us and had us seated quickly on their covered patio, which was perfect even with the steady rain. The chef created a beautiful brunch menu for the occasion, and our server, Kiyonta, was friendly, attentive, and full of great recommendations. We started with Deviled Eggs, the Seasonal Fruit Plate, and the Caesar Salad—each dish fresh, flavorful, and elegantly presented. For our entrées, we chose the Shrimp and Grits (incredible!), the Lox and Avocado, and Edward’s Omelet. Every bite was delicious, and the plating was as impressive as the flavors. We ended our meal with a trio of desserts: the housemade ice cream sandwich, crème brûlée, and key lime pie. Each one was delightful, but the ice cream sandwich may have stolen the show. “Excellent food and a beautiful location! My only complaint is I wish the mojo pork empanadas had more pork but they were still delicious. The plantain upside down cake was to die for and the ribs and grouper bites were very tasty. They had a great mocktail list too. Highly recommend!“

“It was our first time going, and we weren’t sure what to expect, but as we were pulling in the parking lot, a man rolled down his window and told us the food was awesome and to try the pork chops. We tried the simple starter. Bread, oil, and herbs. Simple but flavorful! Highly recommend I had the side summer salad and Krioyo pasta. The salad, no joke, was amazing. Full of color and flavor, might be the best salad I’ve ever eaten. The pasta was a generous serving, creamy and spicy with sausage and shrimp, full of flavor! My husband had the pork chops, cheese grits, and fries (I wish he got the collards instead of the fries, but it *was* his meal, so…). The cheese grits were a delicious surprise to me. So, so, so good. If we go back, I’m definitely ordering them (and the collards). The pork chops were, true to our parking lot critic’s word, awesome. I will definitely return. The atmosphere was laid back and wonderful, the food delicious, and the team members were fantastic. 10 out of 10 recommend! We ordered the chicken & sausage gumbo, Philly cheesesteak & the chicken jalapeño ranch wrap. Our sides were onion rings & sweet potato fries, however we had a hard time making a selection because of the many great food options to choose from. All the food was delicious & Sarah was a top notch server who was friendly, prompt & efficient. Definitely recommend & will visit Shades again when back in the area.“

First off she's from New Jersey and knows good Italian food and secondly the owners are from Long Island New Jersey and New York. The lemon shrimp off the chain. The Caesar is like a shot of garlic cream unbelievable.. The pizza was cooked perfectly. My Italian sub stacked and the pasta salad that came with it and the pepperoncini's amazing. if you get the lemon shrimp you have to dip the breadsticks in it :-)“

“I’m a local and have been eating at your restaurant for the past couple of years. You have a wonderful little gem—it’s always clean and welcoming, with friendly service. It’s a great place for locals and a special spot for tourists to discover while visiting our area.

During my most recent visit, I ordered the two-egg breakfast with coffee and substituted an English muffin for the toast. I also requested a packet of cream cheese, as I have many times before. When paying, I noticed a $1 charge for the cream cheese, which I haven’t been charged for in the past.

I completely understand that restaurants sometimes need to charge for extras. My concern isn’t really about the dollar; it’s that the charge seems inconsistent from one visit to another, and I wasn’t told about it when ordering. Had I known, I would have simply kept the wheat toast rather than paying for cream cheese packets when I didn’t even use both packets of cream cheese.

You have a wonderful restaurant, and I’ll certainly continue coming back. I only wanted to offer a friendly suggestion that the team let customers know whenever a requested item carries an additional charge.

“This past weekend shaka hosted my baby shower outside on their gorgeous patio and it couldn't have turned out more perfect! They brought in someone to work the bar and helped cater to our every need. There was so much space and the venue was breath taking! Kenyon Deal is the guy to see. He made sure we had everthing we needed before all of our guests arrived and numerous guests who attended noted that is was the best baby shower they had ever been to! So greatful for the amazing staff and will be using them again for any future needs! 100 out of 10 would recommend.“
