They’re typically only open for dinner, but we were fortunate to experience one of their special daytime brunches—and it was a standout from start to finish! Jimmy, the GM, welcomed us and had us seated quickly on their covered patio, which was perfect even with the steady rain. The chef created a beautiful brunch menu for the occasion, and our server, Kiyonta, was friendly, attentive, and full of great recommendations. We started with Deviled Eggs, the Seasonal Fruit Plate, and the Caesar Salad—each dish fresh, flavorful, and elegantly presented. For our entrées, we chose the Shrimp and Grits (incredible!), the Lox and Avocado, and Edward’s Omelet. Every bite was delicious, and the plating was as impressive as the flavors. We ended our meal with a trio of desserts: the housemade ice cream sandwich, crème brûlée, and key lime pie. Each one was delightful, but the ice cream sandwich may have stolen the show. “Fantastic brewery!!! This was our second time coming here and in my opinion, they've gotten better. My wife and I vacation in Florida on average every 3 years or so. We visited last time we were here and they made a good enough impression then, we decided to go again this year. The soft pretzels are delicious! The Lattice stout was AMAZING!!! Best beer I had on our trip and we visited several breweries. Next vacation will definitely require a stop in again!!“

“It was our first time going, and we weren’t sure what to expect, but as we were pulling in the parking lot, a man rolled down his window and told us the food was awesome and to try the pork chops. We tried the simple starter. Bread, oil, and herbs. Simple but flavorful! Highly recommend I had the side summer salad and Krioyo pasta. The salad, no joke, was amazing. Full of color and flavor, might be the best salad I’ve ever eaten. The pasta was a generous serving, creamy and spicy with sausage and shrimp, full of flavor! My husband had the pork chops, cheese grits, and fries (I wish he got the collards instead of the fries, but it *was* his meal, so…). The cheese grits were a delicious surprise to me. So, so, so good. If we go back, I’m definitely ordering them (and the collards). The pork chops were, true to our parking lot critic’s word, awesome. I will definitely return. The atmosphere was laid back and wonderful, the food delicious, and the team members were fantastic. 10 out of 10 recommend! “Today was our first visit to Shades Bar & Grill. We were there for lunch & the food & service (our server was Sarah) could not have been better. We ordered the chicken & sausage gumbo, Philly cheesesteak & the chicken jalapeño ranch wrap. Our sides were onion rings & sweet potato fries, however we had a hard time making a selection because of the many great food options to choose from. All the food was delicious & Sarah was a top notch server who was friendly, prompt & efficient. Definitely recommend & will visit Shades again when back in the area.“

“We walked into the dining room and were met with the hushed, refined atmosphere you’d expect from a Michelin-starred tasting menu. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to it.

I started with the foie gras, oysters, and tuna dip. The oysters were some of the best I’ve ever had. Chef decided to prepare the tuna dip by sticking five store-bought corn tortilla chips into the top of it, as if that would suddenly make the tuna dip taste better. It felt less like the work of a seasoned chef and more like a child’s idea of what a fancy appetizer looks like.

If you were expecting a simple, savory foie gras preparation, Chef had other ideas. It was cloyingly sweet, covered in raspberry sauce and balsamic glaze. It tasted as if Chef said, “Let’s take this simple, delicious delicacy and see if we can make it taste like a funnel cake.”

The bread just might be the best I’ve ever had. Pillowy, soft, flavorful, light yet dense. Phenomenal.

I got the grouper, which Chef decided to enhance in three ways. As I took the first bite, I thought I was in for a masterpiece. But within seconds, the hollandaise sauce dried up, and so did the fish. I almost had to walk outside to eat it in the rain because it was so dry.

We were off to Kilwins for dessert for the best bite of the night.“

“Excellent food & service. We have driven by here so many times and finally stopped and it was so worth it. Camilo was our waiter and he was very attentive & friendly. I had the cookie batter cold brew, Veggie wrap with chicken & steamed broccoli. My husband had the biscuits and gravy with grits and bacon. The gravy was creamy, the bacon crispy, and my veggie wrap was delicious. The grits were a little lukewarm, but other than that everything was superb. Even the steamed broccoli had steak seasoning on it, which was so tasty. I highly recommend and we will definitely be back.“

“We had dinner here twice this week while on vacation and after coming to 30A for years, i can ho estly say this is our favorite, and the best restaurant we've eaten at. The atmosphere is unmatched, food is consistent and amazing, and the service is amazing. They seat anywhere between 1,000 to 1,800 people a night and you wouldn't know it. They run it like a well oiled machine, make you feel taken care of without being over bearing or feel like you're being rushed. We Anna the first night and she was very personable and knowledgeable, took amazing care of, and tonight we had Cesar and he was the same way. They have a great bourbon selection and he was very knowledgeable about even that and directed us to one of their barrel Elijah Craig Toasted Oak personal barrel picks that was awesome. Amazing fish, and The Best key lime pie we've ever had. Not sure how anyone could give this place a negative review. You won't be disappointed with anything if you choose to come here! Ask for Cesar or Ana's section!“

First off she's from New Jersey and knows good Italian food and secondly the owners are from Long Island New Jersey and New York. The lemon shrimp off the chain. The Caesar is like a shot of garlic cream unbelievable.. The pizza was cooked perfectly. My Italian sub stacked and the pasta salad that came with it and the pepperoncini's amazing. if you get the lemon shrimp you have to dip the breadsticks in it :-)“

“This past weekend shaka hosted my baby shower outside on their gorgeous patio and it couldn't have turned out more perfect! They brought in someone to work the bar and helped cater to our every need. There was so much space and the venue was breath taking! Kenyon Deal is the guy to see. He made sure we had everthing we needed before all of our guests arrived and numerous guests who attended noted that is was the best baby shower they had ever been to! So greatful for the amazing staff and will be using them again for any future needs! 100 out of 10 would recommend.“

This place was packed from the moment it opened, we were her first night table of 12& she instantly had a bigger table of 15 and she handled both with grace and the most professionalism! “We went here on a Tuesday afternoon so it was not very busy. Food was delicious and fresh. Much better than a lot of Thai restaurants I have tried around the area. I love Tom Kha soup and their’s has just the right amount of spice and flavor. Thai fried rice was delicious. Sweet and sour chicken has a great taste as well. Crab Rangoons were amazing. I loved the presentation of the dishes as well with the cucumbers and orange slices. I will definitely be coming again!“
