“We had a fantastic evening at Hiyakawa—warm hospitality, generous portions, and an omakase that reminded us why this place is so special. Chef Royce’s talent really shines in the precision and balance of each course.

The shrimp nigiri was the standout for us—cooked to perfection—closely followed by the otoro with caviar, which was a wonderfully generous touch and beautifully balanced. My friend loved the monkfish liver, and I was especially impressed by the baby eel nigiri.

Chef Jaimie’s dishes were also memorable—especially the steamed tofu, which was incredibly silky and tasty, with a delicate, well-balanced flavor. The perfectly fried shrimp head was a treat, and the refreshing dessert ended the meal on a light, clean note.

Overall, an excellent experience and one we’re still savoring—highly recommended.“

I don’t want to make it racial, but as the only person to lower their voice as the only black person in the restaurant, it felt very jarring to see everyone else speaking at a louder volume than I was and any it wasn’t a problem. “The food prepared by the chefs was second to none. The care, freshness, and authenticity was reflected in every piece of sushi served. That being said, the drink service provided by the restaurant staff was vastly lacking. My wife and I received our drinks during the last course of the meal, after receiving two rounds of drinks that were wrong orders. Fortunately the sushi and chefs made up for the dehydration.“

“I can't wait to come back. Everything was amazing from our server to the drinks to the food. They have a variety of food like meat or vegetables skewers, to sushi to steak. Their dumplings are to die for. They have a good selection of sake and you can buy bottles for your table. Our server was very friendly and made recommendations. If you on a date , the lighting is nice and a little dark. It's a place that is semi-classy where it's not suit and tie, but I also would not go in looking like a scrub. They have a bar and sushi bar to sit at. It does get busy. For food I recommend trying the kobe sushi. They light flame the meat to let the oil out to intense the taste. Too bad I didn't order more. If I would have just ordered two bottles of sake, ten skewers, sides sides and some sushi, the bill with rip would have been under two hundred for two people. The drinking cost the most of the bill. If your in Miami, look them up you will not be dissatisfied“

The food is phenomenal, the ambiance, service and attention to detail were on point; all and everyone of the dishes were delicious and beautiful works of art, not too many that make you feel stuffed but more than enough so you leave satisfied. We had such a special night and felt the love in every dish, we felt as we were invited to the chefs home for dinner.

“The chefs special sashimi was so fresh. Texture was very delicate and melted in the mouth. The toro hand roll was filled with delicious fatty tuna and had the right amount of bite. Loved seeing the two talented sushi masters upfront working their craft, precisely cutting the fish, into vibrant work of arts.

Service was wonderful too would come again! The handroll was so good I ordered an additional toro and salmon roll.“

“I honestly have no words to describe this place. This is by far my favorite sushi restaurant in Miami!!!!!!!!

Everything was exceptional, from the service to the quality of every dish. The owner personally came to check in, which made the experience feel even more special.

The kampachi sashimi was hands down my number one favorite, absolutely out of this world. We also loved the tempura shrimp, and the fresh wasabi prepared at the table really shows the level of care and quality.

We finished with a matcha cake, and honestly, I couldn’t pick a favorite because everything was incredible. The price was also more than fair for the quality.

“Went to Yamashiro for my birthday dinner and overall had a great experience. We were running a bit late for our reservation due to traffic, but the host was very accommodating and still able to seat us, which we really appreciated.

The restaurant itself is beautiful and feels very upscale. The ambiance was great, lively but still comfortable enough to enjoy the evening. The music was a bit loud with a DJ on site, but we could still have a conversation without an issue.

The food was excellent. The Katsu Sando, which is one of the standout items on the menu, was good to have at least once but wouldn't necessarily go back for it. However, the nigiri, hand rolls, and other sushi dishes were truly exceptional and definitely the highlight of the meal.

We also ordered a bottle of sake, which stayed with the waiter. My only suggestion would be for the restaurant to have bottle coolers at the table so guests can easily refill their glasses while the waiter is attending to other tables.

Overall, I would highly recommend it: great atmosphere and excellent sushi.“

We finally cancelled our main course and left after being there over 2 hours. This omakase was a very relaxed 2 hour seating, with remarkable views of the ocean and the north Miami skyline.
