All shrimp…. Did not even taste like Ceviche. Was sooo disappointed. I wish they would have told us before we ordered or I would have gotten something else instead. Let your customers know if the menu changes. I walked through high winds and rain to come back to this restaurant before flying back home.“

Our server, John, was top-notch. We started with a $6 margarita & a michelada, & the tamarind straw was a game-changer. The food was phenomenal - chips with salsa, pork tamale, chicharrones, & more. “On New Year's day we stop by while waiting for a phone to be programmed at AT&T. Unfortunately they were closed, but we vowed we would come back the menu looked interesting. Glad we came back the food was very good the portions were large and it had to be some of the most authentic Mexican food I've had in the area.“

“We are locals that come to the drunken taco all the time and unfortunately, we had a bad experience today. We waited 20 minutes for a server so we went and got our own drink at the bar. We were then kicked out of the table because we went to the bar to get our own drinks. We had to go sit at the bar and yet I’m looking at 20 empty tables. I’m not a spring breaker and we tip well understanding the real estate of these seats and servers needing to make money. As I am finishing my drink both tables we tried to sit at have been empty. Even worse when we came to the bar to sit, we sat next to two other gentlemen m, not locals, who had just been kicked out of their seats because they hadn’t ordered food yet they had more friends going to join them and possibly would have ordered food, but how the situation was handled, they went somewhere else as well. Not the best business practice especially when you’re slow.“

“I recently had the pleasure of dining at this fantastic amazing outstanding Mexican/Salvadoran restaurant called La Mixteca located in Fort Lauderdale Florida, They also have a food truck located in Davie Boulevard
named Taco Mobile Reyes and I highly do recommend you definetly attend if you’re in the Davie boulevard area, But I did attend the restaurant in Fort Lauderdale and I must say, it was an amazing outstanding latin cuisine place to enjoy such an amazing meal and be at! The moment I walked in, I was warmly greeted and was attended immediately providing one of the most top services ever from placing in our orders to making sure we enjoyed the meals. Being very attentive and their friendly demeanor truly showed what a great food restaurant dining experience is all about.
Talk about nothing but great foods especially a Hispanic cuisine whether it’s breakfast or lunch you won’t ever forget the amazing taste and seasoning they cook with. My God it’s to die for especially with every last bite I took, it was absolutely delicious! Every dish was bursting with an authentic Mexican/Salvadoran seasoning and an authentic mixed flavors and prepared with the utmost care, attention you can ever imagine and wish for especially at a restaurant like La Mixteca. There are a variety of different meals to savory and die for like there famous tacos to there deliciously great burritos etc. I myself couldn’t help but have a savory for there well seasoned Grilled Shrimp with a well cooked white rice and black beans and a side of sweet plantains and seasoned fries to the mouthwatering grilled Churrasco also accompanied with a well cooked vegetable yellow rice and red beans and along a side of sweet plantains, each bite transported me to the culture of what Mexico and El Salvador is really all about. Evidently the cooks and chefs take highly great pride in their craftsmanship and are dedicated to serving traditional, high-quality cuisine.
The ambiance of the restaurant was also delightful, with a vibrant look and the music that played in the back did add on to the overall charm and attention from the servers and chill vibe. Whether you're dining with friends, family, or even on a romantic date, this place has the perfect atmosphere for any occasion.
Overall, I cannot recommend this Mexican/Salvadoran restaurant highly enough. With the servers and waitresses providing us with the exceptional service and the food being truly top-notch and traditional, it's definitely deserving of five stars. I cannot wait to return for another unforgettable dining experience with family and friends and a date and really recommend this place to all and for me it is an honor to say that this is one of the best Latin restaurants I have been in my local area.“

“First time here. In on a Wednesday at 4 PM. Got seated and our server brought drinks and chips. Salsa for the chips was WAY too watery. My friend ordered Roast Pork with rice & beans. $ 9.99 He said the flavor was good as was the quantity. I ordered Beef Fajitas $ 19.99. Came with a SMALL dish of sour cream, shredded cheese, salsa and a little shredded lettuce and 4 warm tortillas. No problem getting more. The quantity of Fajita fixings was good but they left out the Fajita Seasoning so it did not taste like Fajitas at all. Add the seasoning and the dish would have been a 5. Finished the meal with a flan. $ 3.99 Small for the price. Server Marvin did a good job. Not close to home. May go back.“

“I went in to this location with bags to go to the laundry mat. I love taco bell. I asked the lady manager who took my order if i could have some change back in quarters... She rolled her eyes felt put out and said only a dollar as she broke a ten dollar roll. All i said was 3 dollars would b great if not no worries. So as i waited for my order i rinsed my personal bottle out w a swish of water and then grabbed my tea cup i also put ice n water in it. I went back to my table decided to put ice in my personal bottle and add more water to it The machine was off The lady was looking at me funny and and I asked the machine is off could I put some water in this she said as she looked at my table with my teacup will you just put mountain dew in that cup so I walked over to the table I grabbed my cup I brought it over to her and showed her my two lemon lift tea bags and the water in my cup she then acted rudely and stated that I could have some water and gave me a cup the size for a toddler with attitude as well so I decided to go back to the table and just relax when my food order was ready I went up grabbed my food I had paid I think $0.20 or so for the Verde salsa it was not on there she could not find the receipt I threw my receipt away and she felt put out to put Verde salsa as well I was wanting not to say anything but I decided to tell her that I think it was rude that she was profiling me because of the situation how I came in the way I was treated Customer service was ridiculous I felt like she thought she was better than me and that I was a nuisance to her“
