“My wife, mother-in-law, and I enjoyed a fantastic Mother’s Day brunch at Edward’s in Rosemary Beach. They’re typically only open for dinner, but we were fortunate to experience one of their special daytime brunches—and it was a standout from start to finish! Jimmy, the GM, welcomed us and had us seated quickly on their covered patio, which was perfect even with the steady rain. The chef created a beautiful brunch menu for the occasion, and our server, Kiyonta, was friendly, attentive, and full of great recommendations. We started with Deviled Eggs, the Seasonal Fruit Plate, and the Caesar Salad—each dish fresh, flavorful, and elegantly presented. For our entrées, we chose the Shrimp and Grits (incredible!), the Lox and Avocado, and Edward’s Omelet. Every bite was delicious, and the plating was as impressive as the flavors. We ended our meal with a trio of desserts: the housemade ice cream sandwich, crème brûlée, and key lime pie. Each one was delightful, but the ice cream sandwich may have stolen the show. Huge thanks to the Edward’s team for making our rainy Mother’s Day feel special and memorable. If you’re in Rosemary Beach, Edward’s MUST be on your list!“

The poppyseed salad was the best and the green beans ooh, so good! But the sweet potato I couldn't get enough...yummy, yummy, yummy! I'm too full to eat dessert but they let you take that home w you. Our waitress, Kaitlyn, was so sweet and attended to our every need. A place we will recommend to our friend's and family. Now to go and walk off those extra calories. Haha! “While attending a board meeting and on a lunch break I tried the grouper sandwich blackened. The crisp lettuce and tomato with a slice of red onion was delicious. But the aioli sauce made the tender thick fillet of awesome fish perfect. Seasoned just right and a bistro salad to start I wasn’t hungry for dinner till much later. It was fantastic! The salad with cranberry and cucumber and cherry tomatoes was amazing. The sliced toasted almonds were a nice touch. Blue cheese dressing on side of course. My server was very attentive and friendly. Very kind lady as were all the staff were during my stay. Enjoy“

“As an avid Waffle House diner, this was by far one of the best teams I’ve seen. Everyone was extremely friendly, and even though it was packed, we received our food and drinks quickly.

Katheryn was so welcoming and kind, and she was doing a great job training Sadie. She’s clearly a great asset to the team. The cherry on top was Mama Liz. She put the biggest smile on my face when she brought out a smiley-face waffle! It genuinely made my day. Small gestures like that truly create the best guest experiences.

Just a bit of feedback for Bo: You were very friendly and engaged in the operation. You seem to be doing an amazing job overall, but I’d recommend avoiding correcting team members on the floor. It can make guests feel a bit uncomfortable, especially when it involves something that enhances the experience (like the smiley-face waffle). “Today was our first visit to Shades Bar & Grill. We were there for lunch & the food & service (our server was Sarah) could not have been better. We ordered the chicken & sausage gumbo, Philly cheesesteak & the chicken jalapeño ranch wrap. Our sides were onion rings & sweet potato fries, however we had a hard time making a selection because of the many great food options to choose from. All the food was delicious & Sarah was a top notch server who was friendly, prompt & efficient. Definitely recommend & will visit Shades again when back in the area.“

“It’s rare to find a team that works this effectively together while maintaining an air of fun. This is the best Waffle House I’ve been to. We both got the egg breakfast with grits and toast. Everything was cooked perfectly. Our waitress was super attentive with refilling our coffee and checking in with us. We sat at the counter and got to watch the team work their magic. “Went back last night had a great time with my friend. Food and service was awesome! Ladies can go have a drink and watch the sunset (even alone) and enjoy the friendly atmosphere!“

“We were in the area for a week and this was our favorite meal, service, and atmosphere! Laid back beach vibe with delicious food - just what we were looking for to end our week.“

“I made a reservation 3–4 days in advance because this breakfast was meant to be a birthday surprise for my husband.

When I booked the table, I specifically spoke with the staff and explained that I would like them to bring out a small piece of cake with a candle at the end of our meal. I even told them that if they didn't have cake, they could simply put a candle in a dessert or any item and add the cost to my bill. I was more than happy to pay for it.

Unfortunately, none of this was done. It was very disappointing and honestly spoiled my mood because I wasn't able to surprise my husband on his birthday the way I had planned. Since I arranged everything several days in advance, I expected this simple request would be taken into consideration.

That being said, I do want to mention that the food was very delicious, and the prices were very reasonable. The quality of the food was excellent. I just wish the staff had followed through on the birthday request, as it would have made the experience truly special.“

They fed our large group and everyone loved it. The Longleaf Writers Conference is a big fan of Bud & Alley's - a supporter of our local educational outreach program for ten years! (The rooftop bar for sunset can't be missed.)“
