“This place always has a long line and it backs it up. We sat at the bar (2 of us) and skipped the line. We were greeted with friendly service and great food. The menu has a very good selection and everything we tried we were satisfied with. I for sure recommend going here and if you do not have a large group i would try and snag a seat at the bar area.“

“We walked into the dining room and were met with the hushed, refined atmosphere you’d expect from a Michelin-starred tasting menu. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to it.

I started with the foie gras, oysters, and tuna dip. The oysters were some of the best I’ve ever had. Chef decided to prepare the tuna dip by sticking five store-bought corn tortilla chips into the top of it, as if that would suddenly make the tuna dip taste better. It felt less like the work of a seasoned chef and more like a child’s idea of what a fancy appetizer looks like.

If you were expecting a simple, savory foie gras preparation, Chef had other ideas. It was cloyingly sweet, covered in raspberry sauce and balsamic glaze. It tasted as if Chef said, “Let’s take this simple, delicious delicacy and see if we can make it taste like a funnel cake.”

The bread just might be the best I’ve ever had. Pillowy, soft, flavorful, light yet dense. Phenomenal.

I got the grouper, which Chef decided to enhance in three ways. As I took the first bite, I thought I was in for a masterpiece. But within seconds, the hollandaise sauce dried up, and so did the fish. I almost had to walk outside to eat it in the rain because it was so dry.

We were off to Kilwins for dessert for the best bite of the night.“

They’re typically only open for dinner, but we were fortunate to experience one of their special daytime brunches—and it was a standout from start to finish! Jimmy, the GM, welcomed us and had us seated quickly on their covered patio, which was perfect even with the steady rain. The chef created a beautiful brunch menu for the occasion, and our server, Kiyonta, was friendly, attentive, and full of great recommendations. We started with Deviled Eggs, the Seasonal Fruit Plate, and the Caesar Salad—each dish fresh, flavorful, and elegantly presented. For our entrées, we chose the Shrimp and Grits (incredible!), the Lox and Avocado, and Edward’s Omelet. Every bite was delicious, and the plating was as impressive as the flavors. We ended our meal with a trio of desserts: the housemade ice cream sandwich, crème brûlée, and key lime pie. Each one was delightful, but the ice cream sandwich may have stolen the show. “Today was our first visit to Shades Bar & Grill. We were there for lunch & the food & service (our server was Sarah) could not have been better. We ordered the chicken & sausage gumbo, Philly cheesesteak & the chicken jalapeño ranch wrap. Our sides were onion rings & sweet potato fries, however we had a hard time making a selection because of the many great food options to choose from. “Nice hotel . Nice location onthe beach (across the street) . Great customer service . We came during the summer season so there were a lot of children and families. Another time of year would be better for couples-Just my thoughts.. 2free drinks were served free of charge during our weekend stay after 5p. Pool and hot tub were very nice. Ac unit wasn't cooling at 1st but we called for service and they came and fixed ASAP. It was July so it was extremely hot. Great view of the beach and peir from our room.“

“Waffle House absolutely nailed it. I stopped here on my way back to Louisville after a short vacation, and honestly, it was the perfect final stop. From the moment I walked in, the energy was warm, fast, and friendly — that classic Waffle House hospitality that just hits different. “For a Takeout order it takes something special to leave a 5 star ⭐ review, but this was just that occasion!

At first I was just going to do the regular and park in a spot and wait for someone to bring it out to the car. This time I decided to go in and get a drink because I was early and it didn’t look that busy. The moment I walked in the door I was greeted with a smile from the hostess and informed her I was going for a drink and made my way over the bartender. At first glance there was one other person at the bar eating and enjoying a drink, and an older bartender walked out and immediately put a menu in front of me to take my order. After I informed him I was waiting for takeout he asked what I wanted and poured me a wofford and diet which was perfect. Here is the best part, and every sip I took I thought how are they going to mess up this order, what will they forget? How will this be just like every other takeout order and something seams to always be missing? This was the opposite, as soon as he asked my named he went back to the kitchen and made sure they knew Mr. Johnsen was at the bar waiting for this order. Now, you might ask well this guy just wanted to hear his name and feel like a big celebrity and hand this bartender a huge tip for the recognition, maybe but it got better 😂 I was watching as my order came up and he checked EVERYTHING! all the steaks had the right sides, extra butter for the bread, extra dressing for the salads, TWO SETS OF SILVERWARE!!! I can’t tell you how many times restaurants forget silverware and I have turn into Survivor man in my hotel room on how to eat my steak. Everything was there, and when he brought it to me he repeated the ticket to know that not only did he check but it was RIGHT. Now the best part of the night, and tell me the last time this happened to you. As I am walking out of the restaurant I saw some guy holding the door and I was ten steps away so it wasn’t for me…. But it was, and it was the manager and he thanked me for coming in and wished me good night. Do yourself a favor if you made it this far, go and have a good experience and do it with Longhorn Steakhouse, it was a breath of fresh air!“

This place was packed from the moment it opened, we were her first night table of 12& she instantly had a bigger table of 15 and she handled both with grace and the most professionalism! The host was friendly, and our server was attentive. I’ve been to various Topgolf locations, and just like the others, this one has multiple levels, so your views will depend on which bay you’re assigned.
