Right from arrival the staff was warm, welcoming, and catered to our every need. The pace was just right, never rushed, and always right there when we needed them. “YOU HAVE TO EAT HERE!! HIDDEN GEM IN LONGBOAT KEY!! Ill start by saying that you can skip Armands circle and just come to La Norma. As a person that is extremely picky and loves great food and fine dining this place just knocks it out of the park. Its hard to find a great Italian place and this hidden gem is definitely my new gem at Longboard Key. I was looking for a restaurant that would make me want to keep coming back and this is the one. Authentic home made pasta with a beautiful flavor profile. Small and cozy and the staff is super kind and friendly. I personally had the lasagna and the family had pepperoni pizza, and the veal. The meals were done perfectly especially if you’re used to authentic Italian cuisine. If I could give them 10 stars I would. Very pleased and cant wait to come back on vacation to the area just to eat here.“

“We were on vacation last week and went to Wolfies for an early dinner as my husband grew up in South Florida and used to go to the one in Miami. He was so excited to be able to go to one of his favorite restaurants from his childhood! This place did not disappoint. We started off with the pickle plate. Not my cup of tea but everyone else enjoyed it. He had the soup flight which were ALL delicious and the turkey with the fixings. I had the Matthew Broderick (a patty melt) that was amazing. Our friends had the slider trio and pastrami and brisket. We all sampled each others food and wow! We finished it off with some cheesecake that was the best I've had. No wonder my husband's family had such fond memories of this place. Do yourself a favor and go!“

While the texture was appealing, the flavor was lacking and became unexciting after a few bites—I truly wanted to love it! Unfortunately, they only had butter as a sauce option. The accompanying mashed potatoes were enjoyable, and I appreciated my mocktail, a fig espresso martini.“

“We had dinner at Siegfried's Restaurant on Feb. 26th - our third meal there and we always leave with big smiles on our faces. The schnitzel and sauerbraten are both excellent, as are the sides and desserts. The staff is warm and engaging and we were so happy to meet and speak with the chef/owner. The restaurant is in one of the cozy-looking cottages on Fruitville Rd and is the perfect setting for this authentic German restaurant. Be sure you make a reservation and be prepared to enjoy a fantastic German meal!“

“My friend and I went on Saturday night. We both had a drink and ordered appetizer while looking at the menu. Our waiter was right there with our hot appetizer within minutes. We both ordered shrimp and scallops coleslaw hush puppies along with our fried calamari appetizer. Our food was one of the best we've had in and around Bradenton/Sarasota. The atmosphere was perfect and service was the best. I cant wait to go back.“

“Back Alley is my favorite shop at my favorite beach. Its usually an every day stop while we're staying on the island. The coffee is always fantastic and I find the best souvenirs there. I especially love drinking coffee from my Back Alley Insulated cup at home because it reminds me of my happy place when I cant be there. Today was a fantastic day because I got to visit Back Alley! “Wow! What an impressive evening at every level. Do not hesitate and book this restaurant for your next food adventure. The moment you walk into this establishment, you know the vibe is cool and these people know their food & spirits. The food is incredible and different than the typical Sarasota restaurant that has the same boring food offerings. I was impressed with the Iberico pork dish and unusually amazingly flavored vegetables and spices that accented the smoky, tender pork. The yuca side dish was similar to a potato but more flavorful and crispier mixed with an addition of corn, pickled cabbage and other vegetables. I haven't found a dish that impressed me more in recent years. The crispy salmon was a "oh wow" moment for my friend, who hails from the Pacific Northwest as do I, where Washingtonians know a thing or two about salmon. This restaurant provides your palate something different and if you're a veteran of dining out constantly, this is a welcomed change from the ordinary. The New York steak included an amazing demi glaze exploding with flavor and had the perfect consistency which can be a challenge to make right but State Street Eatinghouse + Cocktails got it right. I highly recommend the fried Brussell sprouts appetizer as they were a flavor explosion in our mouths. The bacon amplified the sprouts with the accompaniment of the balsamic glaze. My friend's husband and mine, who usually don't like this vegetable, were pleasantly surprised and ate more than the obligatory "try one" bite. State Street Eating House + Cocktails is owned by the same people that introduced us to tapas restaurant "Beso", which I recently tried, and awarded it my "Best Restaurant in Sarasota" award. This restaurant belongs in the "Restaurant Hall of Fame" of Sarasota or even US restaurants. I love it! My waiter, Dana, was super attentive and impressive. His vast knowledge of the drink and food menu was spot-on and his candor and expertise added to the whole evening's experience. What an amazing restaurant! I can't wait to book my next reservation and I'm kicking myself for not trying it sooner. Cheers! “Anna Maria Oyster Bar - Ellenton, FL After spending the day at the Florida State Fair in Tampa, my fiancé and I decided to stop by Anna Maria Oyster Bar in Ellenton—and we’re so glad we did! We ordered fried oysters, French fries, and cheese grits, and everything was absolutely delicious. The oysters were fried to perfection, crispy on the outside yet tender and flavorful inside. The cheese grits were just the way I like them—nice and thick—and the fries were a great complement to the meal. Even better, our food arrived quickly and fresh. Our waitress, Lilly, was fantastic, providing friendly and attentive service. We also appreciated how the rest of the staff greeted us warmly as we walked through the restaurant. It’s little details like that that make a place feel extra welcoming. The restaurant itself was clean and well-kept, including the bathrooms, which is always a big plus. Anna Maria Oyster Bar now has four locations, and after this experience, I’d definitely visit again. “Sun King is a super fun pet & family friendly brewery. There are a variety of different events for everyone each month. Lady loves to hang out with me on back patio and the swing! Cant get me off that thing. Lots of wonderful beers and wine /ciders / NAs / kombucha / sodas, etc. There is something for everyone. My favorite beer is the Oktoberfest and the Wee Mac Scottish brown ale. So delicious! A must see/ visit in Sarasota! ???“

“I’ve been waiting for an authentic upscale Cuban restaurant in the Sarasota area and it’s finally here! I am Cuban and grew up eating delicious Cuban food. My mother is an excellent cook and has taught me to make many of the traditional dishes. Many restaurants claim to have Cuban food, however, most are a mix of other Carribean dishes. Cuba 1958 is authentic. The croquettes are delicious and so is the shrimp cocktail.. the steak was delicious . The yucca was amazing and so was the congri. This is a restaurant not a cafeteria. The ambience is classy. They have a great assortment of wines and liquors. I was very pleased with the service and attention. I tried to convince the owner to open one in Lakewood Ranch. My husband and I will be returning. It’s worth the drive.“
