“The first time I went to Ogawa, it was on a fluke at the suggestion of a friend of mine who had been there before. I had no idea what to expect. I walked into a very petite intimate restaurant with only. 11 seats. The experience from start to finish was extraordinary. As a New Yorker, who is also in the hospitality business, I have high standards especially around sushi and Japanese cuisine. The food, wine and sake pairings and attention to detail were outstanding. Each course was better than the next. We met the sushi chef, the culinary chef and the owner. They were so lovely and made our experience so special. I look forward to my next visit.“

“I don’t normally write reviews but left Aoko last night pleasantly surprised. I usually stick to my go to sushi spots but tried something new and thank goodness I did. This low key but still extremely elevated spot is a great spot for date night. Come dressed up or come as you are (I was in athleisure), the vibe lends itself to whatever you’re in the mood for!

The food was phenomenal and couldn’t believe they had cold soba noodles (Cha Soba Salad) on the menu… Miami has finally leveled up lol! I have to go to NY typically to get my fix of delicious cold soba noodles!

Now the service was also incredible-they allowed us to try a few sake options before we decided which was very generous. Servers are extremely kind and add to the vibe 100%. We showed up with no reservations and they kindly let us sit down. There are only few tables so a resi is recommended or come early.

Everything about this experience was 10/10 and this may be my new go to Friday spot! Miami, let’s keep these folks booked and busy because this is a gooood one. Need more authentic spots like this.

Oh and the matcha crème brûlée is also a must!!!!! Love it there. Thx goodness I live so close.

I loved this place! Total hole in the wall vibes, but in the best way possible—so cute and cozy inside. The staff were super friendly and made the whole experience even better.
I ordered the Tataki Roll and it was incredible. It came wrapped in soybean paper with cream cheese, avocado, crab salad, and salmon, then topped with tuna tataki, spicy mayo, eel sauce, microgreens, and crispy rice. Every bite was flavorful, fresh, and just the right balance of creamy, crispy, and savory.
If you’re a sushi lover and appreciate a low-key spot with top tier rolls, you have to check this place out, also had some of the Dubi sushi roll & cookie with ice and it was AMAZING! Easily a 10/10!“

“Although my wife and I have not yet had the chance to experience Sushi by Scratch, I felt compelled to leave a review because of the exceptional professionalism and kindness shown by their staff. I made a reservation for my wife and myself as a Christmas gift, something I was genuinely looking forward to. Unfortunately, due to my military lifestyle and unexpected deployment-related schedule changes, I had to move the reservation twice and ultimately cancel until I can lock in a more stable schedule.

Throughout the entire process, the team was incredibly polite, understanding, and professional. They helped me immediately every time I reached out and went above and beyond by fully refunding my deposit without hesitation. That level of customer service says a lot about the values of this restaurant.

“This is truly a hidden gem in Miami. The best sushi I have had in this city has been this restaurant. I have came here twice and both times the sushi and service has been excellent. The quality is amazing and everything on the menu is refreshing and delicious. My favorite item is the spicy tuna crispy rice and I loved the spicy trio. The fried cheesecake was an amazing finish to the meal. Also the pad Thai I had on my second visit was amazing and I will definitely be coming back all the time. I asked for the vegan box listed on the menu, but was told they did not have all the ingredients to make the usual dishes, so the chef Kevin created a menu just for me. He was so creative, inventive, and excited about every dish he brought out of the kitchen, and each one was more delicious than the last. I am technically pescatarian, so a few of the dishes had fish sauce, but he would have easily accommodated me with a vegan or vegetarian menu as well. “I've been meaning to try Sushi Corner after reading many reviews about how tasty and affordable this restaurant is, finding all these reviews to be completely true! This hole in the wall gem of West Kendall is well worth your time to try! I came in with my boyfriend last night to their small no frills location and was immediately greeted by our server who was very attentive throughout our whole meal. It's true that they do serve everything using plastic ware which to me doesn't matter at all. I care about the quality of food and the food is definitely top notch! My boyfriend and I decided to order various menu items to share. I started with a hot bowl of Miso Soup $2 which was good; loved the portion which I felt was more than most places. Next we had the Rainbow Roll $10 (California roll topped w/various fish) which was glaringly fresh and came out beautifully. The Sexy Roll $10 (fish tempura, avocado, cilantro, jalapeño, rolled w/soy paper, tempura flakes, eel sauce, spicy mayo) was by far my favorite just because of all the incredible flavors in it. The Florida Roll $9 (spicy conch, cucumber, masago) definitely surprised me with its spice level and amount of conch within it. Lastly, we ordered the Sushi Corner Fried Rice $8 (chicken, shrimp, vegetables, and masago) which ultimately surprised me in portion and tastiness. I ordered the Black Tonkatsu, which was marvelous. The egg was perfectly soft and yolky, just how I love it. I also tried the gyoza (good, though nothing special), but the spicy mayo onigiri was remarkable. One bite and I felt transported back to a chilly Friday night in a little alleyway in Japan—pure nostalgia. This food is authentic, and it shows.
They even offer shaved ice! Sadly, I didn’t have the space (or time) to try it this visit, but there will definitely be a next time, and I’ll be saving room.
The vibe and aesthetic of the restaurant are small, cozy, and authentically Japanese. Service was just as outstanding—Marco was fantastic and made the experience even better.

“Had an amazing casual dinner here. Ordered the seafood suviche + aji Amarillo ceviche, the bang bang shrimp and the Miami Sushi Roll. All were 5/5. Fresh, full of flavour, quality ingredients, right size and right price.
Service was perfect. Tina was a real advocate for their food, knew what to recommend, checked on us and made us feel welcomed.
