“The first time I went to Ogawa, it was on a fluke at the suggestion of a friend of mine who had been there before. I had no idea what to expect. I walked into a very petite intimate restaurant with only. 11 seats. The experience from start to finish was extraordinary. As a New Yorker, who is also in the hospitality business, I have high standards especially around sushi and Japanese cuisine. The food, wine and sake pairings and attention to detail were outstanding. Each course was better than the next. We met the sushi chef, the culinary chef and the owner. They were so lovely and made our experience so special. I look forward to my next visit.“

“I don’t normally write reviews but left Aoko last night pleasantly surprised. I usually stick to my go to sushi spots but tried something new and thank goodness I did. This low key but still extremely elevated spot is a great spot for date night. Come dressed up or come as you are (I was in athleisure), the vibe lends itself to whatever you’re in the mood for!

The food was phenomenal and couldn’t believe they had cold soba noodles (Cha Soba Salad) on the menu… Miami has finally leveled up lol! I have to go to NY typically to get my fix of delicious cold soba noodles!

Now the service was also incredible-they allowed us to try a few sake options before we decided which was very generous. Servers are extremely kind and add to the vibe 100%. We showed up with no reservations and they kindly let us sit down. There are only few tables so a resi is recommended or come early.

Everything about this experience was 10/10 and this may be my new go to Friday spot! Miami, let’s keep these folks booked and busy because this is a gooood one. Need more authentic spots like this.

Oh and the matcha crème brûlée is also a must!!!!! Love it there. Thx goodness I live so close.

I loved this place! Total hole in the wall vibes, but in the best way possible—so cute and cozy inside. The staff were super friendly and made the whole experience even better.
I ordered the Tataki Roll and it was incredible. It came wrapped in soybean paper with cream cheese, avocado, crab salad, and salmon, then topped with tuna tataki, spicy mayo, eel sauce, microgreens, and crispy rice. Every bite was flavorful, fresh, and just the right balance of creamy, crispy, and savory.
If you’re a sushi lover and appreciate a low-key spot with top tier rolls, you have to check this place out, also had some of the Dubi sushi roll & cookie with ice and it was AMAZING! Easily a 10/10!“

“This is truly a hidden gem in Miami. The best sushi I have had in this city has been this restaurant. I have came here twice and both times the sushi and service has been excellent. The quality is amazing and everything on the menu is refreshing and delicious. My favorite item is the spicy tuna crispy rice and I loved the spicy trio. The fried cheesecake was an amazing finish to the meal. Also the pad Thai I had on my second visit was amazing and I will definitely be coming back all the time. I asked for the vegan box listed on the menu, but was told they did not have all the ingredients to make the usual dishes, so the chef Kevin created a menu just for me. He was so creative, inventive, and excited about every dish he brought out of the kitchen, and each one was more delicious than the last. I am technically pescatarian, so a few of the dishes had fish sauce, but he would have easily accommodated me with a vegan or vegetarian menu as well. I'd recommend the Combo 2. It's a large amount of sushi for a reasonable price. If you are hosting a date for 2 at home and want a lot that you can make 2 large plates from its exactly what I'd recommend.

For a group I'd get the larger Combo or 2 of the #2.“

“Absolutely incredible—I don’t even know where to start! I came in Friday for lunch with two colleagues, and we were all blown away. The service, the food, and even the prices are unmatched—almost too good to be true.
I ordered the Black Tonkatsu, which was marvelous. The egg was perfectly soft and yolky, just how I love it. I also tried the gyoza (good, though nothing special), but the spicy mayo onigiri was remarkable. One bite and I felt transported back to a chilly Friday night in a little alleyway in Japan—pure nostalgia. This food is authentic, and it shows.
They even offer shaved ice! Sadly, I didn’t have the space (or time) to try it this visit, but there will definitely be a next time, and I’ll be saving room.
The vibe and aesthetic of the restaurant are small, cozy, and authentically Japanese. Service was just as outstanding—Marco was fantastic and made the experience even better.

I’ve ordered delivery multiple times, and the sushi is always off the chain delicious and well-portioned—a definite 5-star experience that makes this a highly respected establishment.

My wife and I visited the restaurant for the first time today, and we thoroughly enjoyed the great atmosphere and overall vibe. We did, however, encounter a significant setback. After a 30-minute wait, the kitchen informed us they had run out of noodles for the Beef Pad Thai my wife ordered. She then switched to the Chicken Donburi, which was unfortunately subpar. It appeared the team was backed up due to several large groups.

Despite the kitchen inconvenience, a huge shoutout goes to our server, David, a wonderful young man who was incredibly detailed, informative, and attentive. He handled the situation with grace. We appreciate that management was courteous enough to comp the donburi as well.

We are sharing this feedback so management can improve the kitchen inventory and timing to match the quality of the food and service.

We will absolutely be back because the sushi is excellent and the service by great server David Bracho is superb.

“Had an amazing casual dinner here. Ordered the seafood suviche + aji Amarillo ceviche, the bang bang shrimp and the Miami Sushi Roll. All were 5/5. Fresh, full of flavour, quality ingredients, right size and right price.
Service was perfect. Tina was a real advocate for their food, knew what to recommend, checked on us and made us feel welcomed.
Next time visiting Miami will come back to one of their locations for sure.“
