“Quite honestly it was one of the best food experiences of my entire trip to O'ahu, even though it was just an emergency dinner after a very long hike - I was very hungry. The place has a local climate attached to it with friendly people you can talk to and listen to their stories. Prices are really good for the amount of meat you get and its very tasty. Only the mac n cheese wasn't that great for me but I guess it's just not my thing.“

“Excellent experiences at BBQ town. They star of the show for us were the Teri beef burgers. Such an explosion of flavor in your mouth. Also pictured on another occasion was the short rib mini plate which as you can see is enough for at least one meal if not two. I called ahead for both our orders and picked up. “I’m so happy someone recommended this location. My first place I went to was in Honolulu at Walmart. L&L and food was dry and burnt and very small portion when i orded regulat not micro.
This location was so delicious and cooked perfectly and great portion size. The macaroni salad was the best I’ve had in Hawaii. I have to say they did the next home job.“

“A tiny shack in Waikiki that specializes in Korean food. The place sort of sticks out between the buildings with distinctive emerald-colored exterior. But what's even more distinctive about this spot is the fact that they serve poached eggs with their rice bowl as opposed to typical fried egg, which is very common in Korean rice bowls. I ordered kimchi fried rice, fried dumplings and beef/butter rice to-go. I must say, I was extremely pleased with my selection. My palate can be described as somewhat bland, as I don't like to blast my food with salt. That's what I really liked about this spot, as they helped in keeping my sodium intake on the low side without having to ask about reducing the salt input.

Only downside was the service. The owner can become a little more receptive/welcoming towards the customers and it wouldn't hurt to smile a little more 😊. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a quick Korean-bite in Honolulu!“

“Today I got to try the Vietnamese Sandwich with the Vietnamese Coffee. The sandwich was packed and with great taste. However, the Vietnamese Coffee was just too sweet for me. A person sitting at the same table as me had advised me that the coffee taste really good without the sugar, so I will be trying it again with no sugar next time.

I am in my 8th month of pregnancy. Korean food has helped me a lot during my pregnancy when I was suffering from morning sickness and other health problems. I first came to this restaurant with a friend for a relaxing meal of delicious Korean food before giving birth.
I wish I had known about this place earlier!
I ordered the Seafood Soft Tofu Stew and also ordered the Beef Bulgogi for takeout. I am a big soft tofu stew (sundubu) lover! The seafood sundubu here was so good! Even my baby belly was moving with great excitement!
The banchan were all delicious with just the right amount of salt!

“Wow…we loved our meals. We stopped here by quickly on our way from Waikiki to the airport, and easily found street parking. The vermicelli bowls with lemongrass chicken & tofu (and a banh mi with pork + chicken) were so fresh, so filling, and really high quality. Delicious Vietnamese iced coffee. “I like local restaurants and L&L is good with reasonable price. Chicken Cutlets is a little bit oily but Loco Moco is very good. Don’t expect super clean tables and chairs.The loco moco here is cheap, the amount is so large that you can't finish it (regular), and it's delicious. During lunch time (starting around 11:30am), there are a lot of locals working in the area, so it gets crowded, so the later hours are often empty.“

I can’t come everyday but their French fries are better than McDonald’s and come in generous portions, their mini portions are filling for one, their regular portions are good for 2 (or 3) meals. They’re closed on Sundays because the laundromat customers next door fill up the common parking lot but there are a lot of other options in Kaimuki including the L&L by Sekiya’s Japanese Restaurant across from Kaimuki High School which has more parking but also more restaurants sharing the same limited parking. Also there’s the L&L in the ground floor of the Ala Wai Municipal Golf Course clubhouse. For portions and food quality, L&L by St Louis High School, never disappoints and just order a mini-plate if you’re on a budget.

Parking: Limited but call ahead, bring a friend, run in and out so you can park anywhere, even on the street for free.

“I visited this food truck on my very first night on the island, and it instantly became the highlight of my trip. It was so delicious that I was a little sad they weren’t open on the weekend, because I was already craving a second visit! I ended up stopping by twice during my stay, and it was hands down the best food I had on the island. The flavors were phenomenal, the portions were huge, and the staff was so warm and welcoming. They even remembered my name, which was such a nice touch.

The first time I was there, I tried the smoked meat and Kalbi beef combo, and the second time I went all in with the smoked meat, Kalbi beef, and the garlic shrimp. Everything was just phenomenal. And I have to mention: definitely try the iced tea or the Island Crusher drinks—they’re super tasty as well. This place is an absolute must any time I visit the island, and I highly recommend it!“
