“this is a great spot inside the mall, if your companions are not vegan they have other choices bear by. the vegan tan tan ramen was delicious, pleasantly surprised for a ramen spot found inside a mall. this one hits the spot! the peanut butter tare is not spicy at all so if you like spicy ask for additional spice.“

“Came here for a quick dinner on the way up north. Had their Machiko Chicken Curry Combo. The service was super fast, food came in less than 5 minutes. Portions were huge too, had 6 pieces of chicken with a big slab of chasiu on my ramen.
Taste wise, the ramen broth was kinda a mix of pork and dashi, clean taste but there’s just a miss of umami. Gyoza was just like any normal dumpling. The curry was on the sweet side compared to other places. The chicken was the best on plate as it stayed crispy the entire meal, and juicy too. Just wished it had more flavour like ginger or garlic to compliment the curry.“

“This is a great traditional local store we've been going for a long time. We already have our regular orders, but most foods here are good and very affordable. Nice and attentive staff. The place does get hot inside and there is no AC.
Kid-friendliness: There is one high chair inside. No keiki menu. They usually bring smaller water cups for keiki.“

“Great place for Ramen as evidenced by the number of Japanese nationals slurping up shiryu here. It's all about the food here. Service is fine, tho they are always busy and seem understaffed. Same for atmosphere. This place is for serious slurpers only!!“

“Almost like a hole-in-the-wall kinda shop, menu is very similar to Da Ichi Ramen but with more variety. Stopped by here for an after work dinner & enjoyed our meal. Parking is EXTREMELY LIMITED and we almost left because of it.
Servers are always friendly & dote on you. Food is really good, I love Ramen & this was closer than driving to Pearl City for Da Ichi. Portions are great! Got the Special Combo with Ramen, adding shrimp katsu and beef fried rice for my side. Was able to sub out the pork fried rice 😏. Oh and they also got chicken wings that are worth it, so yay!
Overall, pretty good place. My katsu shrimp was a bit overcooked and crunchy but the gyoza and chicken katsu confirmed that they're worth it.
Parking: Parking is tight and limited in front of the building. Then again it's Hawaii, parking lots are not the best.“

“A Bowl of Comfort: Rai Rai Ramen
Rai Rai Ramen in Kailua is a must-try for ramen enthusiasts. The rich, flavorful broths, perfectly cooked noodles, and tender, juicy chashu pork elevate the classic ramen experience.
What I Loved:
* Gluten-Free Ramen!!
* Rich, Flavorful Broths: The tonkotsu broth is a creamy, pork-based delight that coats your noodles and warms your soul. The shoyu broth, a lighter soy sauce-based option, offers a clean, refreshing taste.
* Perfectly Cooked Noodles: The noodles are cooked to al dente perfection, providing a satisfying chew with every bite.
* Tender Chashu Pork: The chashu pork is melt-in-your-mouth tender and incredibly flavorful.
* Plentiful Toppings: Each bowl is generously topped with a variety of ingredients, including soft-boiled eggs, nori, and spring onions.
A Few Tips:
* Peak Hours: Be prepared for potential wait times during peak hours, especially on weekends.
* Limited Seating: The restaurant can get crowded, so consider dining during off-peak hours or opting for takeout.
Overall, Rai Rai Ramen offers a truly satisfying ramen experience. Whether you're a seasoned ramen connoisseur or a newcomer to the dish, you're sure to enjoy the delicious food and friendly service.
Dietary restrictions: I was really excited to hear they were happy to prepare a gluten-free bowl of ramen for me using rice noodles!
Parking: Parking directly at the restaurant is very limited, but just a couple of hundred feet up the street is an O'Reilly's with plenty of parking that they are happy to share with Rai Rai Ramen visitors.“

“This little ramen place has the best broth! We got kimchi and cucumber appetizers, and two kinds of ramen. The meat, we had both pork and chicken, was so so but the broth was absolutely delicious and made this absolutely worth it. Would definitely go back.“

“Photos of the food looked good but when we walked to the restaurant we didn’t go in because it had bad look, chairs pilled up outside and empty carton boxes also pilled up at the entrance, we went to Whole Foods and we got even more hungry but we all wanted ramen so we decided to give it a chance since there was a couple eating so we ended up liking the ramen a lot, big portions for a reasonable price, quick service and delicious. I guess they just need to make the place more inviting :)“

“Gyoza, pronounced like "dumpling", is actually "pot sticker". The fillings are cabbage, leeks and minced pork. It's crispy, not greasy, and has just the right salty taste. It's delicious without adding soy sauce.
Various restaurants are surrounded by a small indoor food court (Lanai), with a spacious space and a leisurely atmosphere.“

“You'd probably walk right past this place if you weren't looking for it, and that would be a huge mistake. Ramen Go is located in a small food court area called Pineapple County Market. This was some of the best ramen I've had! Got the TBG (Teriyaki Butter Garlic) Ramen and the Aburi Pork Don. Delicious and highly recommended!“

“Great chop steak, and my wife's fried min was fabulous. Had soup and sandwich. Hadn't been here for a while. Was in the area and de died to eat here because it's one of my favorite places. Cathy took real good care of us. It's always a pleasure. This time, we went for breakfast, and we had the Tanaka's special. It's 3 egg omlete with bacon, tomato, onions, mushrooms, and spinach. I highly recommend it.
Cathy is really on the ball! We also took home a shrimp tempura plate.“

“Reasonable pricing among ramen shops in Honolulu. A 3-piece combo of ramen, fried rice, and gyoza costs $13.50! This time I received the miso ramen for $11.50. Although it's not the most delicious Hokkaido ramen I've had in Honolulu, it reminded me of the miso ramen I had in Sapporo 30 years ago. The parking lot is a paid parking lot in front. There was no validation, but it was cheap at 75 cents for about 30 minutes.“

“The food was delicious, for sure. We ordered appetizer trio of lobster shumai, oxtail dumpling and pork belly bao. All tasted so delicious. The lobster moco loco was geeat too! Our server, Kaitlin, was the best! Friendly, fast, super accomodating. The manager checked in on how we were doing several times. It was a fun experience all around. Ambience - wise, a little more lighting maybe? And a little softer on the tunes. Otherwise, we had a great time.“

“This place was a bit hard for us to find due to the place being listed twice in the same building. The restaurant is on the ground floor and part of Noodle Street.
The place was quiet when we arrived around 3 on Thanksgiving Day but picked up when we left. We were seated promptly, and the hostess took our order without delay. They had vegan options, and they didn't charge more for it. All servings were one size, but they were hearty.
The food came relatively quickly and the ramen was just the right consistency. I finished all my vegan broth and my daughter's Waikiki special was loaded. I hope you find the time to give this establishment a visit.
Vegetarian options: They have both vegan and vegetarian option clearly labeled on the menu.“

“**edit 10/20** been here 2 more times now, its my go to lunch place when im in the area for authentic Japanese food? Tried their Tonkotsu ramen with side rice and gyoza, and also the Daily Special which was the Aimori bento (chicken karaage and ginger pork). Friendly service and food that is made to order??**
Legit little authentic Japanese diner/take out place that I stumbled upon looking for another restaurant in Honolulu. Located in the building with restaurants on King Street and Keeaumoku, where Sushi Sasabune is located. This place is at the end to the left.
There was a late lunch crowd when i walked in so took a little while to be seated. Note that this place is run by two people so if youre in a rush, this isnt the place for you as the food is prepared on order so it takes some time.
They were running a promotion the day i went, which was Niku no hi, or Meat Day where if you ordered a specific meal, you would get 150% more. Since it was my first time here, the waitress suggested the popular Karaage Fried Chicken Plate, which I gladly ordered.
Took a while for the meal to arrive since there were two parties seated in front of me, and their meals looked great too... Especially the ramen. When my meal arrived it was piping hot, the way I like it. Squeeze the lemon on and it came with a shoyu dipping sauce that I felt didnt need. The chicken was crisp, not oily and already marinated before fried just like you would eat in Japan.
There was more chicken than I could eat in one sitting so I took half of it home. Would recommend if in the area, Im sure their other dishes are excellent too?5 stars.
Parking: Free parking lot in the back of restaurant and street metered parking in front (free if on Sundays)“

“The food was absolutely delicious! I love everything and how it was in such a good price for hot pot. The service was quick and got seated in minutes. The server was sweet and checked on us to make sure how everything is. I saw how quick our food came out. The food was hot and fresh and the chicken was crispy. The soup was very flavorful. Each plating was so unique and beautiful. And how we didn’t had to wait that long for our service. I will definitely come back and highly recommend others to come.“

“A really respectable Japanese curry at a great price. The server was super attentive even during the lunch rush (I'm pretty sure my drink was never empty). This place is all about the fundamentals and is really no frills, but it does those fundamentals really well and doesn't charge you out the ass which is pretty rare in downtown.“

“Great service. The refills came without asking. We ordered two kids meals, it came with a perfect sized ramen for the kids and a spam musubi.
We ordered combo B which was a large serving of ramen, we chose the Tonkotsu ramen ! With two other “mini” dishes. A chicken katsu on a bed of rice with delicious curry and a 4 piece freshly made gyoza (extremely filling). The finishing touch for everyone was their pineapple chicken katsu fried rice. Amazing!
The quality of the food combined with the generous hospitality made this experience memorable for us. We are eager to come back.“
