“We love all the Roy’s locations! And this one was also outstanding. Service is always impeccable, and the food is delicious. After finishing off the complimentary edamame, definitely get the rib appetizer to start, and then any of their fish dishes are guaranteed to be good. This time I got the Huli Huli chicken which was so flavorful and came with kimchi and fried rice. The cocktails/mocktails and desserts are also worth saving room for. Plus, they gave us a complimentary dessert for our special occasion with a heartfelt congratulations. When we left, the chefs all waved and thanked us. We had such an amazing time.“

“This is a good place that is in-between the pools and lagoon. You can get a table and watch the dolphins or watch the activities in the lagoon. Food is decent. Get the Lagoon club or the Ahi burger. Those are your best options. Good beer as well. Order from here as it is fast. The pool service is very slow.“

That plus a couple of cold beverages and a beautiful big island sunset made for a very pleasant evening in this hotel restaurant. 3/26 update - new menu meant no bbq ribs but we found the fish and chips and huli huli chicken to be excellent!“

“My husband and I stayed several days for his 50th birthday. Surprise to us at check-in they had upgraded our room to an oceanfront room.., completely complimentary. It was hands down the best experience we have ever had. From the friendly staff, to the amazing meals and all the beautiful views inside and outside the resort. Mahalo! Mauna Lani!“

“This is a popular local breakfast. We came around 8 and there was already a line outside. But we didn't have to wait long, maybe 10 mins. Beware that their breakfast size is HUGE. We ordered 3 breakfast items - bacon and cheeseburger omelet, vocano omelet, and 14 oz rib eye steak and egg . They came with two sides: hashbrown/ rice And pancake/ waffle/ toast. And their side pancake is two pancakes bigger than my face. For 4 people we ordered 3 item and still had to bring some food togo. The omelet was good, but the avocado on the omelet was so tiny, and they did say avocado is season only so maybe it's not in the season. My husband ordered medium rare steak but it was over cooked.“

“We miss you in Hawi so when we did an unplanned trip to Waimea today and saw then smelled the smoke, it was on! You never disappoint, ate half a chicken in the parking lot then the other half for dinner. Fantastic grinds, mahalo!“

“Asked if he would substitute grilled fish for the fried shrimp on their salad, and he said sure. Best $15 I've spent on the island. They are take out only, so brought it down to the nearest park to eat. The view is definitely 5 star atmosphere. If you're looking for a good meal at a good price, this is the place.“

“We are here 30 minutes before closing. The fried fish is incredible and I recommend trying it. Our food was served fast, fresh and hot. Minus 1 star because the employee started mopping the floor around us 5 minutes before they were scheduled to close. We got the hint and left immediately.“

“We didn’t stay here, we only came for dinner at the restaurant, but the experience was great. The view is incredible, we watched the sunset and it was absolutely beautiful. Even with the wind, we were still very comfortable while eating. Everything was delicious and the service was very friendly. It’s definitely on the expensive side, but totally worth it.“

“The performers were excellent. Atmosphere/setting was nice.

The food was good, but when its windy... you will add nature to your food. Desserts were average at best.

The service was not good. Seating was uncomfortable. No good direction to find the area.

Super expensive. The drinks are not included. In my opinion the total price is not worth the package outside of great performers and history.“

“This is a wonderful place to eat for breakfast, with the most breathtaking views! Try the island fried rice, it’s worth the upcharge! My servers were all great, but my favorite person was Ginger who was the hostess. She has the best personality and is quite funny! Thank you for the great experience!“

“Good food at a good value. I had the BBQ mix combo plate which has beef, chicken, and pork along with rice and macaroni salad. My wife had a teriyaki beef bowl. Both were excellent and large portions. Fountain machine was not great - the Diet Pepsi tasted off. You are permitted one refill from the fountain machine but I recommend going with a canned drink. Seating is in a food court but if the weather is good you can sit outside.“

“We dropped by the hotel because we heard they have Manta Rays, they set some lights up so you can see them after dark. While we waited we decided to try out this restaurant. I have to say this is one of the nicest restaurant views I’ve seen in Hawaii. Beautiful view of the ocean and mountains. The food is what I would expect of the venue. Very good quality, but nothing to write home about. The only down side I would say is the service. Normally at this price range they would be pretty attentive. It was not bad, but not as upscale as I would expect from a restaurant like this.“

“Had the most amazing meal at cooper bar! Our server Tony is Michelin Star level of attentiveness and service. The manager Jaslynn came by to check on us a few times. Those two individuals really the experience unforgettable, we will be back to Mauna Kea just because of them. The food was also amazing, we tasted some of everything. The calamari was cooked to perfection. The flatbread pizza was like I was back in Europe. The seafood was fresh and the flavors danced in tango. The drinks although spends were delicious and not shy on spirit, worth every penny.
