“We are from the suburbs of Chicago and this was our first time in Dubuque. It was a Friday night and we loved the artistic and rustic feel of the Mill district as we walked toward the restaurant. The restaurant is small but warm. Our server was spot on with her timing. Drinks were wonderfully crafted and the food was unique and delicious. The chef obviously takes pride in their selections of locally sourced fresh ingredients and presenting them with visually satisfying appeal. They tasted delicious as well albeit a touch on the salty side but that may be my personal aversion. Overall we really enjoyed our dinner and it put us in a great mood to enjoy the rest of our stay.”

“Most of us had a good meal last night however one hamburger was very overcooked. When the manager came by and we told him about it, he put it back on us for not ordering it correctly. The server never asked how we wanted it prepared so apparently if you don’t specify they will automatically cook it well done. I think this should be a question the servers ask rather than a customer remembering to state that.”

The food itself was all good especially the Maid-Rite sandwich (I used to live in Marshalltown, IA a few blocks away from Taylor's Maid-Rite in that town). The service was just OK and perhaps a little on the cold side. I was not offered a refill on my lemonade, so I guess this means no free refills at this restaurant (ask for a glass of water or pay for another drink if you're still thirsty!).”

“I stopped in as I had loved their sandwiches back in high school in the 1980’s and wanted to see what they were now. Overall the sandwich was good as far as taste and the ingredients were fresh. The macaroni salad was mostly noodles and had little cheese in it. Would be great if it had some small diced celery for some added texture. Service was good. The tables and dining area were clean. Wasn’t a lot of parking available in it tight parking area.”

Our server took extra time to talk with us and explain the menu. Our order was to-do and she spent extra time making sure we had everything, along with ice cold water for the hot day. Very impressed with the flavors, portion sizes, prices and service! We will stop here again.”

She suggested a smoothie I loved when all I gave her to go on was “something sweet” and then when she saw my 3 year old immediately asking me for some of it she offered him his own tiny cup. A really small gesture I’m sure on her part but it really made our day”

“Cute, little ice cream shoppe found at the bottom of the Fenelon Elevator Incline in Dubuque, Iowa. The shoppe is tight for space as it is overly stocked with stuffed toys, tchotchke, and candies. Two small tables are there to sit at. We enjoyed our root beer floats.”

“Have eaten at the Yardarm Riverfront restaurant 3-4 times with my wife, son and his wife when we visit him in Dubuque. All of our meals have been great! Love the cheese curds, their fries, burgers and wraps. Like the outdoor seating next to the boat launching area and the Mississippi River. Very relaxing. Good service.”

“We tried Mario's Italian Restaurant for the first time this week. It is a old school neighborhood feel, with the most delicious Italian food. I had the Veal Cutlet Parmigiana with spaghetti. The veal was very tender and in delicious sauce. My wife ordered the Mario Panzerotti, which was plentiful and also very delicious!! Highly recommend giving it a try next time you're in Dubuque.”

We encountered 2 other employees who were also outstanding. I mentioned to one that my sandwich order was odd she replied hey you’re the one eating it, it should be how you want it. I Loved that outlook. The lettuce on my sandwich was very fresh probably one of the best fast food places we have encountered over our 6 years of traveling for medical appointments.”

The creamy oatmilk blended beautifully with the sweet, nutty hazelnut flavor. It wasn't overly sugary, which I really appreciated, and the warmth was just so comforting. It's like a delicious, lightly toasted hazelnut treat, but in latte form. If you're looking for a cozy, dairy-free pick-me-up, this is definitely it. I highly recommend it!
