The staff was friendly, my sandwich looks great, and they just all around looked like they loved their jobs which is so refreshing to see at this location. The man making my sandwich was dancing and singing and just made the environment friendlier than I’ve ever experienced. Not sure if it’s helpful, but one man was bald and one had locs, they both were very friendly. This experience gave me hope in this location again :)“

“I went here for a light dinner since most of my first options were closed.I’m going to guess it was just the end of the day but the drink machine needed some cleaning. The floors near some tables near the walls weren’t much better.Fortunately, the sandwich I got - the Turkey Bacon Ranch - tasted good. The pickle spear was pretty crisp and not dripping with brine (I’m thankful for that).Overall, this Firehouse Subs did a good job on food but I hope they can improve their cleanliness.“

“DoorDashed messed up my order, and Nick L’s too. He dropped off Nicks order and gave me a terrible time about rectifying the issue. I went through DoorDash for a replacement order. When my order arrives, not only was it correct, fresh and exact what I wanted but they gave me a FREE cookie (my favorite) to make up for the Dasher’s mistake. This act of kindness makes a difference in people’s days. Thank you!

“Honesty, great food for the most part. Atmosphere inside was really nice. I’ve done pick up as well and that is fairly smooth too. Only complaints are they give you an optional tipping screen when paying, when they don’t really offer any courtesy acts once they’ve given you your food both for dining in and for pick up. Also they jack up the price on tea, lemonades and certain sides, and I have to say the fruit cup is not worth the price jump. But their sandwiches are great, service is fast, and overall not bad if you just get a water and chips for your drink and side.“

After I've read all the other lame one or two star reviews, that's petty stuff to be complaining about. I've went there a few times craving for subs and they were closed on a day that weren't supposed to be, but who cares, there are other days to go there. And so what someone waits a few minutes in line for their subs, maybe the online order was there before that person was. Stop giving this restaurant bad reviews when there a good restaurant! “Wanted to wait until I visited this new location at least four times before giving an honest review. Well, after four visits are not completed, I will say that the staff and owner of this place are doing things the right way! I used to be a subway and Jimmy Johns customer, but after visiting this location multiple times, I am now a Jersey Mike's customer. The owner is really outgoing and easy to talk to, making things more relaxing once the order is being processed. The staff that prepares the food are friendly also, and they aim to please as much as possible (within reason). The sandwiches are built with care, not sloppily put together like other establishments I have visited. The facility is clean, and safety making the sandwiches is always practiced. They are also very efficient getting the order processed in a timely manner. For the near future, this will be my "To-go" place for fast food. Thank you!“

Vegetarian options: They got any choice which you can reject the meats on some, highly love but but they also have all mixs so I'd say to try this!

Kid-friendliness: Very much loved the space, and plenty of room for kids to roam and to keep eyes on, very warm on cold days and very cool on hot, I say go for it!

“There was a sign for where you could order your meals but it wasn’t very visible so we had gotten in line for adding the ingredients and making the sandwiches (which we thought was the start of the line) but then had to go back to the front to order. Very crowded don’t recommend going during the weekend especially lunch hours. Their internet was down so they could only do charges up to 25 dollars one at a time. The kimchi Philly was delicious. The associate who made our sandwiches and took payment was helpful and efficient“

“I've been frequenting this Subway more often these days. This is one of my Go-To Subways.
I have tried Subways at quite a few places in Des Moines.
And, I can say - by far - this is the bets of the lot - both in terms of service and quality of food.

The staff is amazing. All of them do a wonderful job.
Rohin (or Arun) - He has been the one who takes care of my order most of the times. Very nice person, humble, with a great attitude, great listener and customer focused.
Jen - She is an amazing woman. Pleasant attitude, very attentive.
Rocky - He is another wonderful staff. Great service and nice friendly attitude.

Being a vegetarian, my options are limited. But, the staff makes sure that their hands are clean and washed and they take proper care of my dietary needs.

And, Rajesh - he is the owner and manages this outlet quite well.

“Great Subway location!! It has charging stations, the facility is clean. The employee's are friendly. The reason for not a 5 star is upon request for a plastic knife to cut up my tomatoes I was informed they had none. Then I requested a knife so I could do it myself they said they couldn't let me use a knife (which I totally understand) then I asked if they could just cut it for me. I had not opened the salad or anything yet. I was told they don't do chopped salads anymore. Ok cool lol. So moral of the story if you want your tomatoes cut up on your salad ask while they are preparing your food. I would like to re-itterate no employee was rude or disrespectful. Very pleasant staff!“

“I picked up my to go order and the person that was just handling food finished with the food and with the same gloves on came to the register and handled my money. I had to ask him to please take his gloves off since he was just making food. Please train your employees better hygiene if they are going to do all jobs to swap gloves every time. Also he had somewhat long hair and wasn't wearing a hair net.“

As another customer came in, he asked us what our sandwiches were as he was out of a good number of ingredients. A good 20 minutes later it was my turn. He was out of teriyaki sauce for the one sandwich and just enough steak for a 6" steak sandwich. The employee provided
great service, he was rattled or anything even as several more customers showed up before I left. So great service but poor management decision to have just one employee that night and then run your food out so they have a limited selection to serve.“
