Weekends start off right with an SBK pizza on a Friday night. I’ve been coming here for years. During Covid, SBK became my local grocery store. One of my favorite establishments in Chicago, I will always be a fan.“

“The cakes are INCREDIBLE! We ordered a chocolate pistachio cake in June, and it was the best chocolate cake of any kind I've ever had. I had family in town for a special occasion, so I got a red velvet cake this time. My family is not easily impressed, and none of us are vegan. But I KNEW if the red velvet was half as good as that chocolate pistachio cake, it would be a hit. Everyone loved it! I had to pack folks extra pieces to take with them.

The cakes are so flavorful, moist, and dense in an excellent way without losing out on a good texture and crumb. There is no flavor I wouldn't trust this bakery with. Pie, Pie My Darling is amazing. It's been a godsend this year, as I've had to avoid dairy. I plan to continue ordering from them after I can have dairy again.

“Food was amazing. An incredible selection of savory and sweet. I had trouble picking which one of the four very different things I ate was my favorite. The only real downsides are twofold: there isn’t a great coffee selection (since that isn’t their primary function) and there is very limited seating. Don’t let that discourage you because everything is easy to eat on the go or in your car and they will package it for you by default. Adding this place to rotation!“

“Be quick at ordering because there’s going to be a line! Good news is that I have the sense nothing is bad here. I got a ham and cheese and mustard croissant which was perfect, and the banana coffee cake which was DIVINE. Just wish they could do a toasted and creamed bagel, so 4 stars for customer service.“

“OMG WOW! Amazing bakery! I go to tons of bakeries & I think this is the best one in Oak Park & one of the best in Chicagoland! I LOVED everything I tried from the cookies, to muffins to scones. Super high quality & extremely fresh products. Some of the pastries were still warm from the oven as I got there right at 8 am when they open. Even then, there was a little line out the door. Many people got coffee drinks but I didn’t this time. They also have $2 wonky cookies (just weirdly shaped cookies) that are a great deal. I tried: chocolate chip cookie, banana bread, vegan chocolate muffin (extra delish), goat cheese chili scone (excellent) & the wonky birthday cookie (amazing & buttery - melts in your mouth). Can’t wait to go back & try other things! Please note the place is tiny with only a few tables & chairs & there’s metered street parking so I took my order to go.

10.25.24 update: the kale salad done is truly amazing! The toasted coconut cake was sooo good and the chiffon cake was delightful. The savory corn biscuit was good but I preferred the scone, which is totally worth traveling for.“

Your products ( while very delicious) are already expensive so to add service fees on top is just not a customer friendly policy. This is why I only get their pies 2 times a year. “So today I had a friend in from out of town and we topped off our afternoon with a visit to Miski Bakery. I was dying to try the alfajores, and they did not disappoint! The very delicate morsels melted in our mouth, and the creamy luscious dollop of dulce de leche caramel was a perfect pairing. In addition we tried the Milhojas/Napoleons in two flavors the Lucuma pastry creme and also the dulce de leche. A thousand layers is correct, these were amazingly tall, crispy and filled with air, both were delicious but the Lucuma(a Peruvian fruit) pastry creme was the standout. It had such a delightful delicate flavor I had never tasted previously. After speaking with Carmen the owner I asked whether or not they ever carried Turrón de doñja Pepa. She just happened to have some freshly baked sitting on the tray behind the counter, but alas it was still awaiting its filling. This gives me a great reason to return and indulge in that special treat. It is prepared every other week. The service was warm and friendly. This is definitely a hidden gem in the neighborhood you shouldn't miss out on. I will be returning often.“

“I love this bakery! I first came on the Flavors of Albany Park tour and have returned since for wonderful baked goods. The owners are so friendly and generous. I got the peanut cream pastry, red bean cream bun, and a green tea cake. They gave me a corn cake to try as well which was so kind! Everything they make is light, perfectly sweet, and so good.

FYI they only accept cash or Zelle for payment.“

All cakes look amazing and those I tried are to die for. Amazing fresh baked French bread and specialty crafted wine selection (buy for home only). Calm classical music adds the final touch to make your morning or afternoon coffee a remembering experience. I only would like to see some loose leaf tees on the menu.
