“I find some of the low reviews here baffling. I think some people may be confusing this restaurant with other Chinese restaurants due to its rather non descript name. Make no mistake, the food here is excellent and punches way above its price point.Coming in the first time I was pessimistic. I quickly became a huge fan after eating large well prepared portions I would expect from a normal sit down restaurant. We ordered an Xtra Large order of sweet and sour chicken, BBQ pork egg foo young lunch special, crab Rangoon and BBQ pork ribs. The sweet and sour chicken was a huge hit, my kids absolutely loved it. Light and crispy, and it didn't taste oily at all. Egg foo young lunch special was great, really liked the plain fried rice it came with. BBQ pork ribs were tasty, as were the rangoon. They stuff those crab rangoon very nicely!

Parking: It's a small parking lot but no cars are never in the spaces so easy to run get your food and go. They don't have chairs and tables that's the only thing that's bad cuz I like to sit down once in a while“

“We ordered the dinner special last night. This includes an entree, fried rice and an egg roll. I got the shrimp kow, and my husband got mushroom egg foo young. The shrimp kow contained a generous amount of large shrimp and an assortment of veggies in a white sauce, which was highly seasoned. Bok choy, mushrooms,broccoli, peapods, water chestnuts,celery and adorably thinly sliced carrots. I loved it! My husband must have enjoyed the egg foo young...it's all gone! The dinner came in a black takeout container that was divided into two sections.Very nice. The shrimp egg rolls were huge and rolled very fancy! All the food was piping hot and ready for pick up in 15 minutes! The service when ordering and picking up was very courteous and accommodating. Prices were very reasonable!

“I love noodles. I have ordered every pan fried, steamed, chow fun, mei fun, lo mein from just about every Chinese place in the DG, westmont, Woodridge, Willowbrook, Darien area. The common denominator for most of the places is how they love dumping a ton of onions in the dish with some noodles, a little bit of meat and a scant amount of other veggies. I spend more time picking the creepy little (sometimes not so little) chunks of the filler out than actually eating my precious noodles. Darien Chop Suey gives me none of the little buggers! I always order the pad see eiw and not only are there piles of glorious noodles, but they never skimp on the meat or veggies! Beautiful broccoli and mushrooms and not an onion in sight! It's so yummy. The hubs loves the sesame chicken. The egg rolls are plump and the egg drop soup is divine. Plus, they are the most affordable place in the area! Dang when did Chinese food get so expensive? Very reasonable here though. Super nice on the phone and we've ordered like a dozen times and it's always ready in twenty minutes or so. This is my favorite Chinese place. Darien Chop Suey, more like Darien Chop Yummy fo rizz!!!!“

“The owner, I believe his name is Michael, is young but VERY sharp and most importantly, he is respectful and kind. This is important in any service industry and many people much older than Michael lack being respectful and could learn a thing or two from this young man. The food is excellent. Egg Rolls were very fresh and tasty. Crab Rangoon were also fresh and very good as well. I ordered Mongolian Beef, and it was plentiful and tender. The white rice was not clumpy, well cooked, and delicious. My wife ordered shrimp fried rice and it was also delicious. Again, everything was excellent. The place is very unassuming, somewhat small, but the service was impeccable and so was the food. I hope and pray that the owner never loses his charm. Today's young generation in this country are frankly not respectful and many lack intelligence. The owner of Overseas Chinese Restaurant is way beyond his years, and he makes the restaurant worth visiting on top of having very good food.
