“Anam Cara Cafe was the perfect location for our family reunion on Black Friday! We were able to reserve a private room, so the little ones had free range to run around and not bother other patrons and the adults could comfortably hear each other and catch up. The staff was so friendly and helpful throughout the entire process, from setting up the reservation to not rushing us out at the end of our gathering. They gave us great and attentive service without hovering and interrupting our conversations. Food was excellent and served promptly. Would definitely recommend! We're already talking about meeting there again when the Wisconsin and Chicago sides of the family meet up the next time.”

“After a couple of years away following an uneven prior experience, a recent return to Bottaio with friends proved both reassuring and mildly frustrating. The dining room remains one of the restaurant’s strongest assets: warm, attractive, and inviting in a way that signals classic Italian comfort. Unfortunately, that promise is undercut by one persistent flaw—seating that is simply uncomfortable. After fifteen minutes, the chairs distract from the experience, an avoidable misstep in a restaurant that otherwise understands ambiance. Service, by contrast, was a highlight. Our server struck an engaging balance between edgy and personable, and—most importantly—demonstrated genuine knowledge of the menu and wine list. Wine selections, guided by their recommendations, were uniformly well received by the table, showing thoughtful pairing and sound judgment. The meal began on a high note with excellent crusty bread, a simple but well-executed opening gesture that set expectations optimistically. The entrées, however, struggled to rise beyond adequacy. While none were poor, they failed to deliver the refinement or depth one hopes for. The veal parmigiana arrived in an impressively large portion but was overly breaded, sacrificing balance and nuance. In contrast, the risotto stood out as the best dish of the evening—properly executed, flavorful, and satisfying. Other diners echoed a similar sentiment: the food was good, but never quite great. This mirrors past experiences and suggests a recurring issue rather than an off night. Bottaio remains a solid option for casual Italian dining, particularly for those who value ambiance, wine, and congenial service. With greater attention to detail in the kitchen—and a renewed focus on authenticity and precision—the restaurant has the potential to elevate its culinary standing meaningfully. One hopes that future visits will see that promise more fully realized.”

“Food was out of this world. Super super delicious! Food came out extremely quickly. We ordered filet mignon and golden shrimp combo with fried rice and the chicken teriyaki entree. California roll was tender and fresh. Fried rice was cooked perfection as well. Perfectly balanced overall. Excellent service. I really appreciate the attention to filling waters /drinks when necessary. Atmosphere was friendly and so is the staff.”

She was an absolute pleasure to collaborate with and very communicative and accomodating throughout the planning process. The party turned out fantastic, complete with signature cocktails - and great whiskey - for the birthday boy. Everyone loved the ambiance, the personalized cocktails and the overall vibe of the space perfectly matched the theme.

“Delicious boba tea! I had the Coconut milk tea with boba and my husband had the mango fruit with boba. This was our first time here! It was busy when we walked in with lines for those wanting to get there bubble / boba tea. There was a great menu of options to choose from and a nice sitting area to relax, and enjoy the drinks. Staff were quick and busy filling in the orders that were coming in. This is located in Chinatown near the Chinatown square. Great spot and delicious boba teas! We will definitely come back when we visit this area again!”

“We held a family funeral lunch at Lino’s. The staff was welcoming, attentive and very friendly as they took care of our party, which filled their banquet room. We had a couple of chicken dishes, a couple of vegetable dishes, a garden salad, potatoes, and cannoli for dessert. Our guests raved about the food, which was delicious and hot! We could not be more enthusiastic in our recommendation of Lino‘s!”

“I've been here three times in the past year and have been wowed each time. The employees are always nice and accommodating. The food is perfect each time, the bathrooms and restaurant itself are very clean, and the space is welcoming! That's saying a lot from someone who worked in a lot of restaurants over the years and can easily spot issues. Bagels are chewy, thaw nicely after being in my freezer for a bit, and make excellent sandwiches. Thank you for the Windex and cleaning up my water bottle catastrophe ;)”

“We stopped by Antioch Pizza in Libertyville after visiting a family member at Condell Hospital, looking for a late lunch. It was our first time there, and it turned out to be everything we’d hoped for. They offer several pizza options—including a gluten-free choice for one person in our group—as well as beer and wine selections.

To our surprise, there’s even a small ice cream shop inside! We ordered the two-slice deal, a large pizza, and a gluten-free cheese pizza. The thin crust was excellent—crispy and flavorful.

We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, John, who was super friendly and welcoming. We didn’t get to try the ice cream this time, but we definitely plan to on our next visit.

This is one of my go to places in Libertyville. I love the atmosphere, the location, and their sandwiches/scones. The only reason I'm giving it a 4/5 is I'm a chai lover and I wish they had a chai that was vanilla flavored on the menu. It's very spicy and I'm not a fan. Other than this, my friends always rave about the drinks they get since I'm not an actual coffee person.”

I live in the area but had never been to Morgan's. We stopped in for a drink and then decided to check into some other places before heading back to Morgan's to finish our day. The staff, the bartenders, the owner and the clientele were a blast. The chicken wings are awesome. The visit to this bar was the perfect end to my Birthday week. I can't wait to go back again and I highly recommend Morgan's for some fun.”

My family was out and I was on my own recovering from a surgery and felt like treating myself so I figured “ let’s get a bit fancy and order PF Chang”. What a huge mistake that was. The beef with Broccoli had les than 2 oz of beef for $30. I have included a comparison between Hunan Palace’s beef with vegetables vs what I received from PF. Hunan Palace blows PF away! Additional I have had very good luck requesting modifications, I like extra spicy and extra sauce, Human honored my request while PF did not. I think the pics tell all”

“My first time ever trying Thai food, my husband has always been a fan. I am now hooked, this place is amazing. I knew it had to be good when I pulled up to a restaurant attached to a home kitchen. We ordered the Beef noodle soup spice level 2, chicken pad thai spice level 3, order of sticky buns, crispy egg rolls and crab rangoon. Everything was amazing. Tender beef in the soup, fresh not canned crunchy sprouts, rich broth. My husband loved the heat and fresh veggies in his pad thai. Even after sitting in the bag for about 30 minutes after pick up the rangoons were perfectly crunchy thanks to the venting on the container they put them in. Perfect portions, quality, great price, clean, all staff wearing masks, multiple carry out options in terms of curb side pick up, going in, delivery etc. Highly highly highly recommend. Cannot wait for our next take out/date night.”
