“Small family run .
Don’t be deceived by the name. The food is very good. Very fresh really great service small intimate restaurant. They have a small dining area probably for parties that are somewhat small or overflow.. try it out so good !!
I guess you can order Omakasa I was looking at reviews and it looks amazing. It’s so fun to sit up at the sushi bar and watch their craft with those amazing knives so skillful.“

“Amazing place. Pricey but the quality and taste are equal to none – no other Korean BBQ place in the area can compete on those fronts, and I've been to multiple. The servers are always really attentive and nice too, I just really enjoy the place as a whole.“

“Pretty good restaurant. Food is good and would give it a 4 out of 5 stars. My favorites are the Lemon Pork Belly and the short ribs. 4 out of 5 The staff was polite, though on some occasions fell rushed. Everyone is friendly, but you can definitely tell the difference when you get a vet to a newbie. 5 out of 5 for friendly vibes, 3 out of 5 for attentiveness, like needing to ask several times for items. It can be a bit overwhelming I imagine for the newer staff. Price is good for what you get. I recommend the premium menu, though there is upcharge for ramen. 5 out of 5. I think it’s a solid 4 out of 5 for me. Pretty good even if the process isn’t always streamlined.“

“ABSOLUTELY must go! Such a friendly server and I felt so welcome. I really like spicy food myself but the people who cant handle spice well be cautious because they come to serve SPICE. Everything I tasted was delicious, I was sniffling and sweating but scarfing my face. Props to the only worker there, he was so sweet and gave me a free milkis. I WILL be coming back. 10/10 would recommend.“

“We were so impressed with this place! We were craving Korean food and felt so glad to have stumbled upon this authentic restaurant in Niles/Morton Grove.
Everything looked so good on the menu that we ended up over ordering with 4 dishes for 3 people: Jokbal (boiled pig trotters), Seafood Pajeon, Gopchang Jeongul (beef intestine spicy stew) and fried chicken wings. The platters looked just like the menu pictures, and everything was so flavorful and tasted so authentic as if it was a home cooked meal. We definitely could've just ordered the pajeon and jokbal and we would have been stuffed.
Jokball was tender and fresh, nicely thin slices. The seafood pancake by itself was great, crispy on the edges with the right amount of mixed seafood (not just batter). Gopchang jeongul was the highlight to the meal - savory and not overbearing spicy. Fried chicken wings were pretty good, too. This was an amazing, cozy meal.
On top of the great meal, the hostess/owner was so accommodating and kind! She gave food explanations and checked in on us often to ensure we had everything. I cannot wait to come back to try other dishes!

“So delicious we wrote this review! We tried a variety of things- potstickers, Yakisoba, kimbop, and some sushi rolls. Everything was fresh, very flavorful, with lots of vegetarian and vegan options. Server was knowledgeable, service was quick, prices were reasonable. We wish we lived closer to go more often but it’s worth the drive!“

“Really delicious bbq for a fair price, ordered three different meats with three different appetizers, 3 sojus plus extra drinks and rice! For a group of 4, spent roughly $50+ per person but given the food quality and service, definitely a gem place 🙌🏼 1000000/10 would come back ! Especially for those cute shot glasses !! Overall, stellar place with great people and food 🫶🏼“

“Growing up in the area, I noticed a new Korean restaurant opened and been wanting to try for a while! My best friend and I dined in for dinner. We ordered the 2 different options of boneless chicken (soy garlic and original flavor) and bulgogi kimchi fried rice, and they all were flavorful! We were given complimentary pickled radish! The food came out quickly, and the staff were super friendly and kind! I really like the idea of the self service stations so you are able to get what you need without waiting on the staff to get you utensils and etc so your food comes out faster and as soon as it's made! The restaurant is super clean and quite cozy!“

“We were looking for a place to eat before we started our long drive home, and immediately wanted to try this as soon as we saw it!
It's a little overwhelming, all of the different options, but oh so worth it!
We got the Potato Kong Dog, the Sweet Potato Kong Dog, the Milky Kong Dog, the Original Kong Dog (OGs are always a must) and the Churro Kong Dog, with fries and three different kinds of their lemonade, and oh my goodness it was all so good! We wish we had one of these places in South Bend, Indiana! We would come here all the time if we lived closer.“

“These days, the economy is tough, so everyone is afraid to go to restaurants, eat together in small gatherings, and have a drink with each other. This is the reality.
But at Romantic Pocha, there is no need to worry or worry about this.
Very, very generous. This is a place where the food, the owner's warm sincerity and kindness, and really reasonable prices take away all the burden. I really want to recommend Romantic Pocha to everyone.“

“Didn't have any food so can't comment on that, but service was great, prices are excellent the karaoke room was very fun and the machine worked flawlessly. Had a lot of music, however there selection for Hispanic music is very limited so wouldn't recommend for that, but other than that great spot to have a fun night out with friends.“

“CM Chicken is a fried chicken lover’s paradise! We went there to celebrate my dad’s birthday, and as a fried chicken enthusiast with sky-high standards, he was thoroughly impressed. The original bone-in chicken was absolutely incredible—perfectly crispy on the outside and unbelievably juicy on the inside.
The atmosphere made it even better—fun, welcoming, and perfect for a family celebration. It turned my dad’s birthday into a night to remember. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the entire experience was just fantastic from start to finish.
If you’re looking for the best fried chicken and a great place to gather with family and friends, CM Chicken is the place to go. We can’t wait to come back for more!
Kid-friendliness: Had high chairs and very accommodating and patient. Gave us a small sealed boba cup for each kiddo!“

“This restaurant has the best rose tteokbokki I've ever had! The bulgogi and ramen are also delicious! The staff is very patient and will guide you through your menu selections. If you don't like your food too spicy, they will also adjust it to your liking. Very cute spot. Wonderful for date night.“
“They opened really nice restaurants in neighborhood since its really hard to find all u can eat good quality bbq around Schaumburg, Arlington heights, Elk Grove Village etc.
You don't get to grill the meat, they will take ur order and grill it in the back and bring it on the table which I found surprisingly cool and calm. There is no smoke or urge to overcook the meat etc. Usually its little messy when u get to grill the meat. Just found out today its really actually great idea if mear served grilled like theirs.
You will calmly be served with delicious tender good quality steak in front of u already cooked professionally. The side dish and kimchi stew was top notch. They will serve you side dishes with everything you want to enjoy with the meat. Grilled onion, garlic, jalapeno, side zucchini, carrot mushroom even the sauce and salt was so good! 0 complains! Cannot get enough of kimchi stew. My husband said even their water tested better lol . We only paid around $70-$80 but it was all worth it. Definitely will come back!! Its been so hard to find good restaurants nowadays. They are exceed the expectations! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“

“The food there is absolutely amazing, and the owner and the staff are very friendly. The owner is very sweet and greets and tends to the food himself. I have not once had a negative time, and I go there super regularly. He also volunteers a lot, which shows that this is a community-based restaurant, and I love that. Fantastic food and even better people with big hearts serving you. I recommend their jjambbong, and their happy hours are lit! Reasonable prices a great time.
Wheelchair accessibility: My mother is disabled but she loves how the place is super wheelchair accessible!“

“Solid 4 place. Its weird when restaurant's main dish is their name of business and other dish is better...
Like I tried their selleongtang, and this time, their galbitang and bossam.
And their bossam is the best dish for me.
I think the price plays into this factor and also, when you have legendary restaurant in same city that is known for sellongtang, aka Hanbat, its hard not to compare.
Hanbat is much cheaper and better taste.
Galbitang, I also prefer the taste of Joongboo, its more savory and cheaper. Piece of this wang galbi has more aesthetic appealing, but little meat, harder to eat, contains more fat.
Bossam on the other hand, was very nice and good price also.“

“They had me at the crispy light chicken tender pieces. I ripped them apart to cool them off a little and each was tastier than the next. I ordered the classic fried chicken tenders, side of pickled radish cubes. I also added a sauce on the side to dip into; soy garlic. Added the coleslaw fresh sweat and sour creamy flavor. Perfect with the chicken. Oh and don't forget the bulgogi fried rice . So good! Perfect Sunday dinner.

“My daughter and I love Korean food so we stopped to check this place out for lunch today. She ordered the red hot wings and I ordered the Mep tenders (sweet and spicy with a Mayo glaze), and we share the bulgogi fried rice. Everything was fantastic! Our server was very kind and attentive. We give this visit 10 out of 10. We will definitely be back again.“

“As a regular at Halmae Bossam, I can confidently say it’s one of my favorite spots for authentic Korean cuisine. The bossam is outstanding, always tender and flavorful. We love the set menu options and individual dishes.
What keeps me coming back is not just the food, but also the simple and home-like atmosphere. The staff is friendly and attentive, making each visit special. The banchan is always a highlight, with a fantastic variety of flavors that complement the main dishes beautifully.
The portions are excellent, offering great value for the price. Halmae Bossam never disappoints. If you're looking for a taste of authentic Korean food, this place is definitely a must-visit!“

“I am not Korean, but am widely versed in all East Asian cuisines. A few years ago, the Tribune did a story about how Korean Americans have moved out of "Koreatown" in Mayfair, to the suburbs of Park Ridge, Morton Grove, and Glendview, where, 50 years ago, I sprayed lawns for ChemLawn. I was between sociology careers, but noted that my customers were mostly of Southern and Eastern origin. I got a rice bottle of homemade wine ("you're a good hard working young man,"). So, we visited Korean Spoon right before the pandemic and had a delicious meal. Then they went to carryout, which was too far for us in Crystal Lake. Bottom line: This is a terrific Korean restaurant. kimbop, sundae, and the tteokbokki are delicious. The banchan are fine, and the people are nice. Non-Koreans, of whom I am one, should do some homework before going here. According to the Koreans who have posted here this is legit Korean comfort food, so come and eat. (And carry out! All sorts of pre-made food in the cooler. Raw spicy soft-shell crab, y'all?“

“I had the Soon Tofu Soup with Kimchi & Pork. My friends had the Bul-Go-Ghee & marinated Chicken. We were all very happy with our dishes and the service was excellent! You can tell they didn't use shortcuts or just put the meals together in a half-hearted/haphazard manner because the flavors were well developed and the seasoning was spot on in all our dishes. I will definitely be back & would highly recommend this place!“

“The food overall was excellent, and everything tasted great. However, the restaurant could improve its customer service. For example, it would be helpful if they brought water to the table right away, rather than guests having to ask for it. Additionally, more frequent check-ins would enhance the experience, especially since there isn’t a bell to signal staff like in other Korean bars. With a few improvements in service, this place could easily become a top choice.“

“This is the best one of all the bbq chickens. Sooo delicious n service is always so fast with piping hot fresh wings. Ny favorite flavor is Gangnam style in boneless. It’s kinda sweet a tiny bit spicy. I’ve tried all the flavors and this is the best one. Some locations only offer gangnam style in traditional wings not boneless n I’m grateful Vernon hills location has it available in boneless. The girl who mans the front counter is so sweet and I’ve never had a single issue with food quality or service.“
