“We stopped at this place for lunch recently. Very good food and fast service. Everything is reasonably priced compared to other hotdog places. Portions are very generous and fries are perfectly crispy. Cheese sauce on side was great and not watery, gyro was perfect and grilled chicken sandwich was very juicy. “Try either of the hot dogs. My favorite was the Whoopskidawg. My husband liked the Superdawg better. Great place for trying authentic Chicago food and the history is great and atmosphere was so fun! We tried 2 types of beer also and they were very good with the dogs. Oh and a chocolate malt for dessert was nice to take on a walk by the river behind the restaurant.“
“We’ve been here a few times, their burgers are very delicious. The fries are also yummy! Their customer service is great, very kind & helpful.If you like spicy you have to try El Diablo burger it’s very delicious & of course spicy! The Black Widow with added egg is also very good- it’s sweet.“
“Classic Chicago style hot dog/gyro spot. Good food. Fast customer service. Not a lot of room to sit and eat but I think that's how most of these type of restaurants are. Overall recommend trying it if you enjoy any of those classic chicago foods.“
“It's been awhile since I've been in the area. Had to stop out. Layout is the same. The place remains under the same owner as far back as I can remember. Staff is very friendly. The food is delivered quickly, the portions are above average in size, and they even do stuff like serve full pickle spears instead of cheap thin slices. Overall a solid entry into a pretty competitive market (Lake Zurich). I'll be back soon.“

“The food here is always amazing. The staff is so friendly. Drive thru lines are quick and efficient. Dining inside is always a good time. They forgot small something in our order one time and we noticed it when we got home so we called and they gave us multiple free meals to make up for it. “We stopped for their opening day. It was really good and the man helping us was very friendly. They were busy but did well under pressure.Stay in your vehicle and they'll come out and take your order or go to the picnic table and either scan the QR code and order or they'll come over and help you there as well. “Still tasts the same. I use to go to the Original Hoagie Hut when I was in grade school. Service isn't fast but that is because it's made to order. But always worth the wait. Only thing that bugs be is, I wish the hours were a bit different. I have made trips there based on their Google hours posted to find out they closed early. No sign nothing. As a person that works customer service I would suggest updating your hours. It has happened to me a few times so either they close early often or their hours really are not correct on Google. I know alotnof businesses have changes their hours since covid and have shortened them but I think it should be changed in Google website etc. Gas isn't cheap. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would dislike driving 30+ minutes out to find out your closed.“

“In town for work and a buddy recommended this location. Went in and the staff were all amazing. Super nice and helpful. We got milkshakes and Mac and cheese bites. The milkshakes were awesome. Delicious with enough flavor but not too much. The Mac and cheese bites were good a little bland but still good. Would definitely recommend this place“
