McDonald's in Rockford

“Update:
As of right now I will let the original review stand because I have been there many times and it was that great but it is not anymore especially in the evening. Twice now I have been to the drive through and NOBODY came to take my order! I had to drive away and go to the McDonalds at E. State and Alpine which is almost always good there. Other times at the Mulford Road MeDonalds unfriendly employees have waited on me in the afternoon and evening. I don't know what happened but I kind of dread going there now!

The McDonalds on Mulford Road in Rockford, IL is by far the best McDonalds in town and the best one I've ever been to anywhere. Usually McDonalds is not that great and it is management's fault because the employees are not trained properly. I was a Crew Trainer in the '80's for another chain restaurant, was a restaurant server for years and I was a Mystery Shopper specifically looking for all the possible things employees were doing right and what they were doing wrong and the cleanliness of the stores, etc. I KNOW customer service and the importance of doing things properly. For this McDonalds (I almost always go through drive-thru) I would actually use the word outstanding to describe the employees and their attitudes! They are mostly adults and some have worked there a long time. Everything is great from getting the order correct the first time, to how fast the service is and always with a pleasant friendly attitude to ALWAYS there being a napkin in the bag- a rare luxury for a lot of places. I make sure I compliment them on something or joke or say something nice to the person. The management must really be good to have such a great team that has been there so long. I love going there!“

“I had a mishap today with my online order but ashlin made it right . She made sure to diffuse the situation while also keeping the restaurant moving during a lunch rush . She made sure my boys had freshly made food and I sincerely appreciate it. There needs to be more ppl like ashlin in this world. I plan to pay it forward on her behalf.“

“Surprisingly a great experience at this Mikey D's. Food was freshly made to order. Tonya B, I think that was her name. She was courteous and polite. You can tell she takes her job seriously. No running around everyone had a job to do and it was organized. Will be back. Thank you for the great service.“

“This McDonald's has some of the freshest food items in Rockford I haven't been yet where I had a cold order of fries, burgers, or anything that was supposed to be served hot and fresh. Even on their busiest days the line still moves quickly.“

“Got a tall black coffee for 1.85 and even won a free biscuit sandwich using the monopoly peel and play. The lady brought it to my table, and was very friendly. Even offered to refill my cup if I needed it which really surprised me. I could see myself coming here to drink coffee and read a bit“

“They do it right here for breakfast in the morning, can actually taste the flavor of the biscuit and not over toasted into a frisbee like other places do. A+ to the morning Manager and staff here at the Harrison off of Alpine location here in Rockford, Il“

“I love the Grinch so of course I had to get a grinch meal the dill fries is definitely a hit and omg my socks I went back for my socks cus they had ran out when I was there I dont eat McDonald's often but I had to pay then a visit just for the grinch meal“

“Came through the drive thru and there was only 3 employees working this night but yet they were amazing and nice. Went to 2 other locations that same night that said was open 24 hrs and 11 th st had cones blocking the drive thru and wouldn't take any orders and the Harrison Ave location turned away 10 or more cars saying they were taking no more orders due to being short staffed. Waited in line for over 15 mins just to get turned away....the kishwaukee location had some of the nicest staff working that night“

“So dont get me wrong the wait is long but it's the best McDonald's food. Fries were full, plenty of toppings on sandwiches, order done right... Crazy that it's a low bar but as long as you have more than 5 minutes to wait I would pass other McDonald's just to go here.“

“Personally when I go I get good service! There were a few times the employees didn't want to add something on Or scan my app for points BUT it's fast food and yeah I loved my Fry's and hot 🔥 coffee!

“I came here with my granddaughter because according to Google, there was a play place in this McDonald's. We got there and there wasn't one! So that was kind of disappointing. But the dunkin' donuts next door kind of made up for it!“
