“Date night at Bocca never disappoints. My wife and I live near downtown, and it’s become one of our favorite spots. We grabbed seats at the bar last night, where Maritza proved she can shake a cocktail like nobody’s business. The carbonara is my go-to—hands down the best I’ve had this side of, well, Italy. The oysters are my favorite in Indy, always perfectly shucked, and the wine list makes me grin every time I spot my favorite Vermentino. You don’t have to be a neighbor to feel like one once you’re at Bocca!“

“Homey but upscale atmosphere at the same time. Quite busy when I went but they fit us in even tho our reservation was for the wrong time. The complimentary bread had a wonderfully crunchy crust. The eggplant and portabello mushroom spaghetti with capers and green and black olives was unlike anything I’ve had before—what fun to try something new! It was so flavorful! And the portion size lasted for two meals. Would get again.“

“The outside does not do this place justice. I'd categorize it as slightly upscale Italian. Inside is middle tier classy. Perfect for date night and celebrations. Food was delicious with the main dishes mostly starting at the $20 range. Ceaser salad was one of the best I have ever had. Garlic cheese bread is on the garlic-y side but we like it that way. Meatball dish was chefs kiss. We asked the waiter for wine selection recommendation and were super helpful. Wait staff was attentive.“

There was also a younger blonde woman who was flying around the entire time I was there, cleaning the dining room, checking on customers and even stopped my drink from overflowing when it took me too long to get back to it when filling up my drink. She didnt stop for even a moment to catch her breath, but was doing an exceptional job the entire time I was there.“

What really set this restaurant apart, though, was the exceptional service after we left. The next day, as we were heading to the airport to fly back home, I realized I had left an expensive pair of sunglasses on our table. Stefanie went above and beyond to help me, kindly arranging to have them shipped all the way back to Houston. They arrived safely today, and I am so grateful!

“This is our 3rd time in Balena. Outstanding experience! Welcomed and brought to the table by owner, very nice, pleasant lady. The same words we can say about our waiter. She was up to the point with all the explanations, water refills and dishes replacement. The food was five stars as well! The bruschetta and Milanese chicken were very tasty, flowerful, and I would say comparable with similar meals we had in Italy. When we were leaving we were thanked by name. All in all we had enjoyed our time in Balena!“

“Cute little spot on the canal we were feeding geese and walking and stumbled upon the place. Atmosphere was inviting. I tried the tuna sandwich on baguette which was delicious. My husband had the turkey sandwich which was a great portion. Service was good the gentleman answered all questions and brought our food to the table. On the next visit going to try a flatbread pizza. 🍕 everyone should try this place 👍🎊“

“Highly recommend Monti for the food, cocktails, and vermouth. Service is attentive and bartenders really know their stuff. We have enjoyed the whole branzino fish, pastas, the Cornish hen, and all the cocktails. They also have a regular happy hour worth checking out.“
