“I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by my visit to Shrimp Shack in Munster! I ordered the catfish and shrimp combo, which came with fries and bread.
The catfish was definitely the star of the meal! The fillet was a great size and fried to perfection at least to my liking. 😋 The shrimp was pretty average, but still good. The fries were cooked extra crispy, which may be perfect for someone who loves a good crunch.
The bread was a little hard, and I’m guessing that may have been because it was placed directly on top of the hot fish.
I also really liked the nice decor and clean lobby area, and the customer service I received was friendly and welcoming. Another plus was that the wait wasn’t long at all!
I’m not sure how much business they normally get, but in my opinion, Shrimp Shack is a good spot for a quick bite to eat. Overall, the food was good, the service was friendly, the restaurant was clean, and that catfish was the highlight for me! ⭐⭐⭐⭐“

“A friend recommended Las Jacarandas for great Mexican food in the area. We ordered a ton of items to take out. Was not disappointed whatsoever! Tried an assortment of items (chile relleno dinner, variety of tacos such as beef, fish, steak, pork, chorizo, chicken mole) and everything was excellent! The staff seemed like they cared about you buying the right or the best value, Last night we were ripped off. David was our server. Telling how great the specials were with out telling us the price. My wife wanted seafood not steak. So we ordered her the seafood crab legs, lobster tail and shrimp. Crab legs tasted like they were frozen for a long time, the lobster was Tuff. Shrimp was good in garlic butter. I had a steak. With mushrooms. Do your self a favor ask what the price for any specials . DON’T BUY ANYTHING WITHOUT KNOWING THE PRICE. Most restaurants have ranch or some kind of dipping sauce for the sides included. But overall will buy the 🍤.“

It was only two people working in there and our property can understand why it was a lot of pressure on them, but they need to hire another person to work with them And important that you have the food right not overdo it. I brought my grandmother and she wanted to split her meal with someone who wasn't able to come to the restaurant in person, so they brought out half of her meal and waited until we were almost done with the other half freshly made and packaged! Lake perch was great! Not like other restaurants that try to serve ocean perch as lake perch. The Nashville hot chicken strips were a little disappointing they didn't have any heat to them, but the chicken was cooked perfectly and the breading was really good so it made up for it! Mac n cheese was delicious, I was even impressed with the fries! None of them were soggy or over salted! I'm sad I couldn't have tried them sooner!“

Ordering it to go, the food traveled well for about five minutes and maintained its heat and crispness. I ordered the catfish and shrimp, and the shrimp were really well done. There was a generous portion of fries, which were pretty good too. The catfish was done fairly well, with a good level of breading that didn’t overwhelm the catfish texture or flavor. For the style of restaurant it was pretty great! Would recommend and go back and try other items in the future.“
