“This was an important dinner, my son who is 26, had surgery(had his tonsils removed) a couple days ago, and The recovery is described as one of the worst, and it feels like shards of glass in your throat.he has to eat soft food and he had Choices all over the Kansas City metro area. He chose Joe’s, Joe’s mac & cheese to be exact! We live on the Missouri side (Gladstone). So I decided to stop by this evening, and not only get a quart of mac & cheese for him, I grabbed dinner for myself (z-man w/ fries, ribs w/ red beans and rice, Mac and cheese) which I was reluctant to do, due to me having to drive 35 minutes home and I was worried that it was going to be Soggy and cold, Well, much to my surprise, the food was packed perfectly, my food was still hot, and my fries were still crispy! Thank you Joe’s in Leawood you did amazing! I will probably be back in the next couple of days to purchase more Joes mac & cheese! BTW this son of mine recommends Joes to everyone!! “Usually great food, and we est here often. However, last week we were 100% dissatisfied! First, the entire meal was late, they had to substitute knots for garlic bread, waited forever and the calzone had literally one piece of meat about 1"x1.5" and what looked like a mozzarella stick for cheese. The meal was gross, late, over cooked and not what we ordered or paid for. So disappointed. Since it is a long drive we regularly make I doubt we will be returning. $34 meal wasted.”

We asked to be moved and were taken to another area closer to the entrance about 25 feet away from the first table. The smell was still somewhat present but tolerable.”

Fast forward to today (1/1/2026): I ordered my usual, Shrimp fried rice. I got home, and counted EIGHT DAMN SHRIMP in my order!! But enough rice to feed a small family. And to top it off, the shrimp were not cooked enough and I had to cook them some more. If this is not resolved by giving me a free meal, or at least at a discount off another meal I’ll never eat there again.
*in response to your response: me and my mother have eaten at your restaurant numerous times and there have been way more than 8 shrimp in previous orders. Maybe all the chefs should stick to the same amounts of shrimp & time they cook them so no one has to complain when they notice the difference. No worries, I just will not return as a customer.”

My husband had Steak Gargonzola Alfredo and I had Shrimp Alfredo, which I was very pleased they were able to substitute peppers for asparagus at my request. Raylee, our waitress tonight, was absolutely amazing, always smiling, very pleasant, open and friendly, and extremely attentive. She checked on us multiple times throughout our dinner. Raylee has superb customer service skills and this girl deserves a bonus! We left her with a hefty tip...worth every cent for someone who brightens your evening! 😊”

The tamales are the highlight—the masa is light and fluffy, not heavy or dry like most places, and they’re stuffed with meat that actually has flavor. The salsas are the real kicker; mild was great and the hot has a kick but so fresh you’ll keep dipping even when your mouth is watering. To top it off, the margaritas actually taste like tequila and fresh lime, not that sugary bottled mix. They’re strong, simple, and hit the spot perfectly.”

“Found Avenues through a Groupon. We bought the Shrimp Boil, Filet and Shrimp Scampi, Antipasto platter, and two cannolis. The meal portions were huge, our order could have easily fed 4 people. The shrimp boil was spicy, with a lot of shrimp, potatoes, sausage, and a whole ear of corn. The filet was flavorful, and the shrimp scampi was served similar to Alfredo, it tasted so good! The antipasto platter has lots of yummy bites, I really enjoyed the salami and artichoke hearts. The cannolis were great too! They also included a little bag of decorated mini cookies, with a ribbon and Go Royals! tag. I'm sure it was part of one of the entrees we ordered, but an unexpected but delightful little bread pudding was in our ca bag as well. Food was great, portions were large, and the staff at curbside was very nice. I do wish GPS hadn't left us about halfa block away though.”

He did it all with courtesy and again, lots of smiles. Our cook was incredible. He didn't like talking much but he always had a smile on his face and told our daughter Happy Birthday. They came out with a drum and sang to her and everyone clapped and wished her a Happy Birthday. What an incredible experience!! We will def be back! OH!!! Several sushi rolls were ordered as well and ALL of the food was delicious. 0 complaints!! Thank you all for making our daughter's birthday dinner a hit!!!!”

“We have been coming to this location every couple of years for the past 15 years or so. After reading the recent reviews I was a little apprehensive, but I really don't know what everyone is complaining about. We found the grounds and indoor areas to be clean, the check in was flawless, the life guards were on point, the water park was operational and the bathrooms were clean. My daughter had her glasses fall out of her bag and we checked back at closing time and they had them. (thanks to those who turned them in). The rooms were clean, we enjoyed mini golf and the activities in the lobby. The food and drinks may be over priced but so is any ball park or concert you go to. We avoided the buffet and got donuts from the coffee shop. The beds could be a bit firmer, but it was only for 2 nights and the kids had a ball. We adults relaxed and enjoyed it also.”

He took our drink order and the exceptional service just kept getting better. Drinks and chips were always full. My husband ordered the burrito and taco special and I had the Quesaburrias. Oh my word were they good! I typically order the quesaburrias if they are offered at other restaurants and these were by far the best I've had. The consomme' was exceptionally seasoned which of course made the beef very tasty. My husband was pleased with his meal as well. This is the 2nd time I've eaten here and each time has been exceptional. I'll be back.”

I am american so I expected the tacos to have cheese and lettuce but the cilantro and onions are more then enough. The sauce is hot and I wish I could make it myself. If the al pastor tacos weren't so good I would try something else but haven't tried anything else since my first experience!!”

“I went there this past weekend and the food was excellent. Of course I think it had a lot to do with how amazing our server Logan was! She was one of a kind and I don’t think I’ve ever experienced service as well as hers. Definitely consider changing it to Famous Logan’s!”

“Usually great food, and we est here often. However, last week we were 100% dissatisfied! First, the entire meal was late, they had to substitute knots for garlic bread, waited forever and the calzone had literally one piece of meat about 1"x1.5" and what looked like a mozzarella stick for cheese. The meal was gross, late, over cooked and not what we ordered or paid for. So disappointed. Since it is a long drive we regularly make I doubt we will be returning. $34 meal wasted.”

“This was an important dinner, my son who is 26, had surgery(had his tonsils removed) a couple days ago, and The recovery is described as one of the worst, and it feels like shards of glass in your throat.he has to eat soft food and he had Choices all over the Kansas City metro area. He chose Joe’s, Joe’s mac & cheese to be exact! We live on the Missouri side (Gladstone). So I decided to stop by this evening, and not only get a quart of mac & cheese for him, I grabbed dinner for myself (z-man w/ fries, ribs w/ red beans and rice, Mac and cheese) which I was reluctant to do, due to me having to drive 35 minutes home and I was worried that it was going to be Soggy and cold, Well, much to my surprise, the food was packed perfectly, my food was still hot, and my fries were still crispy! Thank you Joe’s in Leawood you did amazing! I will probably be back in the next couple of days to purchase more Joes mac & cheese! BTW this son of mine recommends Joes to everyone!!
