“It’s dark, it’s cool, and they’ll play 60’s/70’s rock gems as the house music. The food is pretty good too. This is my favorite spot I’ve found after several years living in The Quarter. The vibe is perfect. Its the darkness and the music that really makes me not want to leave. It’s rock’n’roll without being a dive. Oh yeah, did I say the food is pretty good too?“

“Bob Boudreau and I were in NOLA for 9 nights. Three of the nights we had reservations at other places with family. Our 1st night we looked up and found Jewel of the South. We loved it so much. we asked our nephew, his medical school advisor and his wife to join us. All three lived in NOLA and had never been here. All 5 of us would definitely go back in a heart beat. Great food. Great atmosphere. Great drinks. Great staff. GREAT ALL AROUND! FIVE STARS for Jewel of the South.“

“If you haven't eaten here yet, do yourself a favor and go. Everything we had, from the grilled octopus to the burrata and cavatelli, was absolutely incredible. For dessert, we ordered the olive oil and apple cake and espresso which was also amazing🧑‍🍳😗 highly recommend. Service was also great. Very attentive.“

“The fancy drinks 🍹 are titillating and the appetizers are fantastic. However, the entrees were not impressive. The chicken was served undercooked and the shrimp dish was overcooked and very greasy. Came here on our last night after dinner and got the espresso with ice cream and a shake along with a cinnamon roll to share with my honey. The shake was a perfect consistency. Then came here again the day we were leaving out as they have Koloches. Haven’t seen those since we lived in Texas. It was pretty good but that Vietnamese coffee 🤤🤤🤤 it was soo good. I’m craving it now as I write this. Then got some donuts for the road. All very good. Highly recommend this place.“

“The staff at One11 Hotel and Batture Bar were incredibly accommodating. Their professionalism and expertise was extremely helpful during the setup and execution of my wife’s surprise party! The loading dock proved to be an excellent location for a party! The outside area, with the pool and fire pit was incredibly beautiful. The rooms were exquisite, clean and well decorated. The bar area and the staff was great! I know all of our guests were impressed and said they will be back! Thanks again!“

“Oysters and pita/crab dip were delicious! Service was a little rough. My husband got his oysters before I got my meal- he had that and his drink finished before I received my food. We tried to be patient because they were somewhat busy, but watched our server take off her apron and leave before ever coming back to our table after drop off. We had 2 other waiters and what looked like management walk by several times, and even though I tried to get their attention, never looked our way or stopped. Finally made eye contact with a gal working closer to the front who came over and was very sweet, apologizing as our waitress had just quit. She brought out my food that'd been sitting there for quite a while, so the muffalettas weren't great, coleslaw warm. She never came back or reassigned someone to us, no one checked on us for drink refills, etc. Had to flag her down to place another food and drink order, again because no one else was helping us. After that, zero service, no one stopped at our table to check on us, and nothing 'taken care of' for the mishap. We came at a time where we were able to see the end of one band and start of a new- both fantastic, so that was good. Would recommend based on food and music, maybe not so much service.“

“Yes Olde College Inn is a good to restaurant for NOLA's Uptown locals. It's a great spot for dinner and if you so feel inclined, walk through the Parking lot to, Rock 'n Bowl. The food is awesome. The waitstaff is friendly, attentive and professional. The prices are medium.“

Ambiance (4/5): Be sure to wait outside, behind the line on the ground, instead of walking through the door to be seated. We were told that there was no phones allowed (including taking picture/video taking)! My friend got scolded when she took pics of her food and I got yelled at when I took a video from the *outside* of the establishment. The tables are long and you may get seated with other guests. It’s dark and has a dive bar feel.
Service (4/5): They are bustling so service was a little slow. However, the waiter (from upstate new York) was a hoot and gave us the best recommendations for what to get (and not get!) Expect the staff to curse and talk without filters haha
Food (5/5): Everyone at the table was floored with their meals. I got the Coop’s Taste Plate which had a little bit of everything. The gumbo to start was packed with flavor. The fried chicken had a thin and crispy skin, moist on the inside (Get the 3 pieces if you get the main dish because some of the pieces were a little small.) creole, beans/rice, and jambalaya were all super flavorful. We couldn’t have been happier.
Friends loved the Chicken Tchoupitoulas which was juicy and to die for.“

“No one under 21 can enter this establishment! It’s a cute dive bar restaurant! We came and it was empty which for us was great! 6 of us got a table and had quick service! I love wings and these wingers were GOOD! the fried pickles were so good and so glad they didn’t come out as spears! The waiter was super friendly and attentive! Would definitely come back if in the area!“
