“Christy and Mike really run a great and welcoming establishment. Felt at home from the first beverage through the fish chowder and manchego mushroom toast (both were phenomenal). Be sure to ask the master mixologist Annalee to mix you up a tasty beverage to start your day, or finish your dining experience. Great food and great people. A must visit when in New Orleans.“

“I visited the location on Ponchatrain in Nola last night _ I will NEVER dine in late at night - The host was outside playing with the managers dog in the parking lot - She walked in the side door and greeted me picked up the menu and NEVER sanitized or washed her hands. The server complained about it being slow- My food came out cold- The manager on duty last didn't care- They put my side dishes in the microwave They served me the same cold chicken I sent back and just put it on the grill for a few minutes. Horrible customer service experience and the quality of the food was worse.“

“Super friendly service. I ate alone at the bar. The mocktail I ordered was great. But the food was even better. I had the grilled romaine and the short rib entree. Definitely worth checking out. Plus the parking streetside was perfect for this expecting mama who can’t walk far in the summer heat.“

“One of the best meals I’ve had in New Orleans was at Toups! We had a charcuterie board with their house made hogs head cheese, chicken liver mousse and foie gras accompanied by house pickles. Simply incredible!! The hogs head cheese was the best I’ve ever had! I especially loved the chunkiness of it with nice pieces of tender pork! The crispy turkey necks! Oh my goodness… AMAZING! The braised lamb neck entree was exquisite with a generous portion and crispy spaetzle! Even leftover, it was great!! I also had their pork chop and applesauce cocktail which was creative and also delicious!! I highly recommend this restaurant! Great work Chef Isaac and team!“

“If you are looking for a Gem outside of the French Quarter, this is it. Ye Olde College Inn is a staple in the culinary world of New Orleans and nestled in a neighborhood lined with 100-year-old oak trees. Locally owned and operated it's a mix of white tablecloths fare with excellent service and cheers where everyone knows your name. If you hang out long enough you will certainly become part of the fabric of this eatery. We had the Crab Marne' to start and the Crawfish Delacroix, fish of the day with the Louisiana Lump Crab meat and Fried Green Tomato Shrimp Remoulade PoBoy. (All show stoppers) If you are looking for a true New Orleans expereince.....this is at the top of my list.

“Fantastic cocktails!
The bar has a great atmosphere with plenty of seating at the bar and tables. There is a large variety of fun and creative cocktails to choose from. If you're into spirits, they also have you covered. I can see why it is one of the best bars in New Orleans.“

“When we want a good burger, we go to Oscars! Great burgers and baked potato or sweet potato and a cold beer for a great dinner! Service Is great the ladies that work there are very friendly and the atmosphere is interesting, especially if you like Marilyn Monroe! Kind of a neighborhood bar so don’t expect the greatest atmosphere but it’s a fun place to have a burger.“

“Many a time I have wandered into the Lavin-Bernick Center in search of a tasty treat that will satisfy my craving for excellence, but only today did I find what I have yearned so eagerly for. When a mysterious man in a trench coat whispered to me the secrets of the hidden menu, I rushed to Wow and asked for one simple item: the Jackson Cushing special. Although the workers were resistant to serve me, they finally caved when I leapt over the counter and begged on my knees. As soon as I was done with this meticulously and gracefully cooked fish dish, I wept, for I know that nothing in life will ever come close to the absolute pleasure this cuisine brought me. I strongly recommend every reader to pursue this euphoria that has changed me forever.“
“I cannot say enough fabulous things about this beautiful venue and Ms. Linda Novak, its proprietress and event coordinator. I approached Ms. Novak with less than one (1) months’ notice and an unusual request to propose to my girlfriend there after discovering that the Swoop-Duggins House was open for private events – years ago, my girlfriend (now fiancée) and I had our very first date “Cellar Door” (bar operated by previous tenant/owner), but I had been advised that it had been shut down in Hurricane Ida. I was so thrilled to see that Ms. Novak was now hosting events in the space again and invited myself over for a walk-through as soon as I got in contact with her. Despite my paltry budget (much less than she normally agrees to rent the space for); an insanely complicated plan for a proposal (I had to lead my girlfriend in through a side entrance that she’d not recognize, then ask Ms. Novak to herd in in 30 guests to the front room within a 5-minute window before bringing my fiancée out to propose to her on the balcony where Ms. Novak had provided a perfect “hiding spot” under a tablecloth for my friend to photograph the proposal, after which I brought her down the courtyard steps where she coordinated the timing of my friend’s dad’s trumpet-playing); an ever-changing number of guests and menu items (from 12 to 35 and then back down to an eventual 30); and two highly-invested mothers participating in the surprise, Ms. Novak graciously and seamlessly pulled off an engagement event that most people that I was crazy for even attempting.Ms. Novak spent weeks working with me and my friends and family to ensure that everything went right in this multi-layered plan that likely would take the award for “venue’s worst nightmare event” – from coordinating walk-throughs in the week leading up to the event, to actually playing a part in the surprise herself (she went so far as to make fake signage and decorations for another “event” that was to take place that night; and put her acting skills to work to make my charade more believable), she was beyond incredible. All of my guests asked whether she was a wedding coordinator that we could hire, given her flawless facilitation of the entire evening – if only she were available to handle my wedding! Needless to say, my fiancée was thrilled and said yes. We now hope to plan an engagement party or wedding event at the Swoop-Duggins House next year.As for the venue itself, Ms. Novak has done an impeccable job of decorating the space down to the very last detail – it is New Orleans through and through, and captures the essence of the Crescent City through its décor and ambiance. Cocktails and appetizers were of course fabulous, as well. No way to go wrong with this venue and Ms. Novak. Thank you.“

“Best place in the world. I love this place. Inside info… (if you want to be an instant insider, play Prince on the juke. Then go smoke on the back porch. Share your smoke if anyone is around to share with. Good things will happen.). Funnest all nighter in the world.“

“I have been coming here for 20 years or close to it. I love the hamburgers, garbage can nachos, spaghetti and meatballs, lasagna, spinach and shrimp quesadillas, ribs, and recently discovered the Baja taco with salmon this summer. That’s my favorite go to meal now!!! I usually got a margarita on the rocks with dinner. But changed it up with a watermelon daiquiri with tajin on the rim. Delicious! This was one of my mom’s favorite places too. I sure miss going there with her sharing a hamburger together and having margaritas. Great neighborhood restaurant.“

“Bf has been raving about this place for years about the Shrimp Ducky. My First time and Came alway from Texas. The food was amazing. I am disappointed in the person at the hostess stand. She was a little rude and not hospitable. We had a togo order due to our dog in the car. We don’t know where to go to pick up the order and it left us wandering the restaurant.“

“I came here 2 weeks ago for a friend's 50th and it was 10 or 12 of us, and it was the best experience, and we had a private room the food was great and so was the staff. So, 2 weeks later I'm back, and it was just 2 of us this time and just as great, plus they have happy hour, they were out of the Tuna Poke bowl, but that's is just fine, it shows they only serve fresh, and it can signal the fish wasn't up to par today, you can tell it's genuinely fresh when you taste it. I live an hour away, by it's so worth the turn around trip, I love this city and this place is another reason to visit.“

“Small, quaint restaurant. We were warmly welcomed. The food was good and the service was pleasant. I do the believe the menu is different at this location compared to others. It seemed there was a lot less selection to choose from here. We would return.“

“Great food, great service and beautiful surroundings. Usually hotel food can be run of the mill. Not this place! We could have eaten every meal there! We went for breakfast had pancakes, French toast, omelettes, and the waiter brought beignets!!! Fantastic. Hats off to this restaurant and the hotel as well!“

“our neighborhood bar while staying in the Garden District on holiday, this place was the bomb, the people running it were sincere, the bartenders really cared, the frog legs devine, a very wide selection of drinks, wine and spirits and just an over all amazing atmosphere for a chill wind down after a day of exploring the city. we give this place all the thumbs up and hope you make your way over here, right off the street car line, so no driving involved, and your first Malort will be on ME!“
