We had the cochin white fish, fried fish, and salmon pkaila. We also had the pickles, two great cocktails, and the napoleonka. Everything was unbelievably delicious. I asked to sample the lavender latte and the ube (second one at the very nice worker’s recommendation.) Both were delicious and perfectly balanced. “Yesterday I was in to get a birthday cake and was inspired by an act of kindness. A young woman with some cognitive disabilities came in asking some unusual questions. The owner, who was working the shop by himself at the time, was so patient with her and kind. He treated her with respect and even gave her a free drink. These sorts of moments need to be recognized!“

First off: the flavors are amazing. They are both well thought of combinations and absolutely high quality products. This is artisan level ice cream. It is very dense and rich. It kind of reminds me of Italian gelato in a way. I loved the cones as well. You can order a 1, 2, or 3 scoop in a cone or cup. Or cone kind of looking thing in a cup.

The staff here was super nice and friendly. Thank you for your professionalism! I love the atmosphere of the store and it was very modern, clean, and intriguing. I wanted a cone as soon as I walked in.

Price wise, be prepared for expensive ice cream. In my opinion it was worth the purchase for how exceptionally better it was than the vast majority of places I’ve tried around town.

“After watching a movie at the nearby AMC, I came here with the cool autumn breeze. The storefront was under renovation, but it was still open. The decor suggested a rather old-fashioned ice cream shop.

Taro: A bit of a surprise. For an American/Italian ice cream shop, the most highly rated flavor online was taro, but after one bite, I felt it truly deserved its reputation. The ice cream was smooth and delicate, with a naturally rich taro flavor, and not too sweet.

Matcha: A very standard matcha flavor from an American ice cream shop. Not too sweet, the matcha flavor was pure, but nothing particularly special. A safe choice for Chinese palates.

Coconut Thai Tea: First time trying this, and quite an interesting flavor. The sweetness of coconut milk is the top note, followed by the bitter aroma of Thai milk tea.

Bourbon Maple Pecan: The initial taste was the sweetness of maple syrup, followed by the nutty and slightly salty aroma of pecans. It's quite good, but a little on the sweet side.“

“What I love about Van Leeuwen is that it's the only Ice Cream store that's open late. After dinner in the Seaport with 3 friends we decided to go get Ice Cream. It was 10pm and Van was the only late night Ice Cream store in the Seaport. That was very helpful and we all order a triple scoop. It's also the best tasting ice cream in the neighborhood.“
