“We were sad we weren't able to stay at the inn, but at least we got to eat dinner there for our anniversary. The service was friendly and on pointe, offering a complementary glass of bubbles for our anniversary. The space is open and intimate, you can hear each other and not feel crowded by the other tables. Cocktails were perfectly balanced. The oysters were amazing. The monk fish is firm and a little sweet like lobster, the duck was divine and beautifully medium rare. We had never even heard of vinegar pie, it was great! Similar to but better than chess pie.“

They bump the best playlists, joke with you, discuss taste preferences, honor allergies, and are actually excited to provide a good dining experience. It's truly a neighborhood gem that I want to gatekeep so badly but will not because everyone deserves this level of stellar dining and the team here deserves to succeed! The food is funky with a heavy focus on fermentation along with honing culinary techniques from around the world without trying to put out “Asian food” or “Latin cuisine” or “fusion”, just their own creations. They make spirits in house (turns out I can like vermouth!) and source wines from places most others restaurants don’t dare to cover. It’s where I bring all my visitors if I can snag a table!“

“While enjoyable, I came in with higher expectations. I knew going in that the menu was "weird" (maybe unusual is more appropriate?), and after the meal, I pretty much felt the same. I don't feel like the ingredient or cooking choices really came together, and I don't know if it's because farm to table in New England at the start of spring is just unfair, or if this just comes down to the chef's choices. My partner and I shared 4 dishes, and we each got our own dessert. I loved my dessert, but the other one was unbalanced, with too much bitter marmalade. The savory dishes were all fine - but we wondered if the scallops could have been better with a different protein, if the celery root would have been better as a veloute, and if the sauce for the lamb were not so sweet.Still, I think I'd like to come back when the farms in New England have better produce and try again.Kid-friendliness: Not really - this is a place for very adventurous adults“

They gave us a seat by the door, which was appreciated and the service to the food was hitting on all marks. The one thing I hold back from giving a 5 star review on is that we were dying of heat -- it felt like we were eating in a sauna. I'm not sure if it was because they didn't turn on the AC or if we just had an unfortunate seat that wasn't receiving any of that cool air. Either way, I was sweating throughout the entire dinner service and so was my fiancée.“

“We had a delightful dinner at the Burlington, MA Restaurant this past week. Seasons 52 NEVER disappoints!!! Our meals were delicious... wonderful pork chop on a bed of red cabbage and golden raisins, served with a side of mashed sweet potato with pecans and brown sugar. My partner had a delicious piece of chilean sea bass on a bed of wild rice with mushrooms. For dessert... we could not help ourselves and ordered two of their mini-indulgences of layered pecan pie and the other was of oreo cookie and vanilla. The atmosphere and decor of the restaurant is beautiful with nice lighting. But the best of all was our server, Susan. She was so friendly and helpful with our choices of wine, food and desserts. One of the most pleasant dining experiences we have had in awhile. We were there to celebrate our 38 Year Anniversary and loved every minute.“

For appetizers, we got the cornbread and their croquettes. Both were tasty and had their unique flavors. For entree, both my mother and sister got the mushroom risotto, my father got the scallops, and i got the panini. This has to be one of the best french dip panini's out there. 100% would recommend!!! “On a business trip in the Concord area and checked out 80 Thoreau. One thing to note is that this place is tricky to find. It looks like it doesn't exist when you get there but it's right next to the eye glass store. It's on the second floor so you need to take a hallway with stairs which is why it was hard to find. Once I did eventually find it, the overall experience was great. This is more of a fine dining restaurant so the prices are expensive, however, the food was amazing. They have a limited menu so it makes it easy to choose and everything was very very fresh. On top of the food, the service was great! The bartender was very very friendly and our waiter was attentive and gave great recommendations! Would recommend trying this place out if you are in the concord area“

“This review is for the Brookline location of The Abbey. The Abbey doesn't do reservations or call ahead. We showed up around 6:00ish on a Saturday night and were told there was a 20 - 30 minute wait. We were welcome to sit at the bar, but there was no place for four people to sit together, so we lurked near the door and chatted, ducked customers walking in and out and staff taking orders, running food and clearing plates. It's a small space when all the tables are full and people are a few deep at the bar, but that just added to the ambiance. I was seated facing the wall so I didn't see quite how busy it got, but the noise was at "lively" level. We could still have a conversation but needed to speak up to be heard across the table. We were able to snag a table after about 30 minutes. The basics first: The drinks, food and service were fantastic! This is our second time here, the first being ages ago when they had the covered tables outside early in the pandemic. I've been wanting to come back forever, but don't usually get to this part of Brookline. I need to change that or head to Cambridge too! I started with a winter sangria (red wine, brandy, spiced rum, apricot and allspice) that was delicious. They have a pretty extensive gluten free menu, which is nice. My friend wanted the GF pasta Bolognese, but she is dairy free to so that was not an option. We ordered two of the slow-braised short rib "French dip" egg rolls with gruyere, horseradish aioli, and red wine demi for the table. Loved this! I never finish apps and I inhaled this. I was fine with that, I could just put my main in a take home container. We also got the black kale & Brussels sprouts salad, avocado, pepitas, Crispy bacon, and a fried duck egg. Even if you think you don't like kale and or Brussels sprouts, get this dish! I got the "Thanksgiving" panini (house roasted turkey, cornbread stuffing, cheddar, arugula, cranberry aioli, hand-cut fries). It was delicious and can't wait for the leftovers. The hanger steak frites came topped with watercress and a madeira sauce. It was the most tender steak that I've ever had. For sides my friends also ordered shredded Brussels sprouts and pan roasted cauliflower with capers and pecorino as sides. Not to be missed are the hand cut fries that are the embodiment of French fries perfection. They are a must order, either plain or with truffles and cheese. Fried potato nirvana! As I said, the place was packed, but service was attentive and Ty (sp?), our server made sure allergy info was provided to the kitchen. He made great suggestions for items to try. The Brookline location does not serve dessert (sad panda) but the Cambridge location does. Good to note for next time! Did I mention that the kitchen is open until 1:30 AM every night? Perfect for late night bites.“

“We came here for Easter dinner with a group of 4. The seating area is warm and comfortable while still feeling a bit more upscale - a great location for a date night or special occasion. We enjoyed the dishes overall and appreciated that you could get a glimpse into the kitchen from the dining room. What we ordered: - Tuna crudo: Interesting flavors. The fish tasted fresh but could have used some more acidity. - Fried hen-of-the-woods mushrooms: Nice, crisp, and well seasoned. - Sautéed heirloom carrots: The carrots were nicely cooked but the glaze was a bit too sweet. - Seared scallops: The scallops were perfectly seared and paired well with the lentils and sauce. - Phyllo-wrapped cod: We were surprised how crispy this was even though it was sitting in the sauce. The lobster stew was full of flavor. One of our favorites of the night. - Seafood risotto: The risotto was well cooked but the dish could have included more seafood. - Lemon pepper half chicken: The juices of the chicken soaked into the beets to make a delicious bite.“

“Little Donkey is an absolute gem. We were there for first seating at 10:30 am on a Sunday. Glad we had a reservation since they were very busy and tables we blocked off by 11:20. Our dishes were delicious and came out pretty quickly. Someone at our table had a nut allergy and every dish was brought out with a clearance of the allergy so that incase she wanted to try other dishes, she knew what was safe. The salmon and Tuna Tartar is delicious, but unbelievably small and honestly not worth the $19. We ordered it to hold us over while waiting for friends who were running behind. It is bare 4 actual bites. We learned from our waiter that most of the items we initially wanted were tiny. This is a really cute spot with an open kitchen which is cool to look into, and the bar tender is great at creating new drink concoctions.“

“Definitely an upscale place where people dress up. I was definitely not dressed for the occasion and yet all staff members were still very kind and attentive. It was pretty packed for a Tuesday night but service was still quick and my food was phenomenal! I got the salmon and it was delicious. I also enjoyed my cocktail. I came here in March but could see that they had a beautiful outdoor space. I will definitely be coming back in the summer to sit outside and enjoy this place again.“

“Food presentation and service was excellent. Our waitress particularly was fantastic. Attentive with a smile. My only complaint was that our Burrata salad was a bland. Just needed a sprinkle of salt and pepper which were not on the table. Main courses were delicious though. The atmosphere was fine but nothing really grabbed me to give that 5 stars.“

“Absolutely delightful. It was the day before St Patrick's Day and they were playing all of the traditional Irish music live. The food was wonderful. Our table had sushi baked haddock baked scallops and my daughter had a gluten-free salmon entree. We loved everything about this restaurant. They also served a corned beef and cabbage dinner.“

“Great building and a wonderful quaint restaurant is inside. Cozy seating in several small rooms. The menu includes seafood and pastas and more. My date started with the zucchini fritters and then had the fish and chips. I had the kale salad with salmon. My only complaint with my food was the hot salmon wilted the kale. I was just expecting a crisp salad. Not to worry though. Wine was a generous pour. Our waiter, Jeffrey was fantastic. Very attentive. There was live music playing starting at 6 PM which was a nice surprise. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Probably best to make a reservation as it's a small space.“

“Cannot recommend Branch Line enough!!! I organized a baby shower brunch with 18 guests and the entire process was seamless. Great communication prior to the event with clear and reasonable pricing. Parking is extremely easy and accessible. The long table was set and decorated beautifully and the restaurant made custom menus for us. We ate a 3 course brunch family style and everything was delicious and perfect! They were very accomodating for those with dietary restrictions. The staff and service was phenomenal- so kind and attentive. Truly the best brunch I have had in a long time and an incredible experience for our group. I will definitely be returning to Branch Line! Thank you!!“

“My bartender this night was Zack. He was intuitive and an informative bartender who brings atmosphere to those around him. The decor is colorful and inviting. Modern lighting, not to bright, but not too dark. Almost a space like atmosphere. Clean, tidy and top notch. The menu is inviting with many choices. Appetizers, meals and even desert...try the Ruben it is mouth watering! Also if Damian is working the kitchen that night your going to end up with the most flavorful meal. He is a master of his skills. I highly recommend the food, drinks and atmosphere.“

“Very nice server. He was on his own, and made sure to let me know the food would take a while before I placed my order. The sandwiches were great. My six year old is a picky eater, so I expected her to say "It's not like the kind I like" and just pick at it a bit. Nope. She loved it. My wife and I liked ours too. What a nice surprise to find in a rest stop. Will make a point of stopping at this rest stop to go here.“

“We stopped by here because everything around us was closed at 10PM. The drinks and food were awesome. They have a big selection of cocktails you would never think of trying. “Definitely on the fence for 5 v. 4 stars. It a great space with lots of interesting decor, and the upper floor has a great vibe ...get up there if possible. Service was good; expected for a slow evening. Vibe is nice...not too much TV or music pervading, yet not lacking in some liveliness either...nice touch. Host was great and re-seated to better spot (chairs not stools) was easy. The standard menu (no specials that night) had scallops which were super! Cooked perfectly with the broc rabe also perfect on the side. The risotto, possibly from another school of risotto-thought, was not so. Just OK and seeming under cooked a bit and underwhelming... some umami or like influence would be good/needed. Duck dish was nice...but, they asked if medium rare is OK which it is! and should be. It was a precut set portion of tiny fillets which is great ( tho Im a fan of on the bone or "whole" fillet). What came up was nearly raw in the middle...yes, I definitely could have sent it back, but i"m lazy I guess and wanted to start eating together. Note to chef: a thin/medium size line of pink is good but a big old bunch is not. Note I eat rare /medium rare everything including lamb and port, but this was 'too much'...again my fault for not sending back, but.... Asparagus side was done very well...not under/over cooked. I'll be back!“

“I went here in December 2022 and loved my experience here. I was able to find seating at the bar on a busy Friday night. I ordered 2 drinks - a bright blue cocktail and a hot pink one after. Both were delicious. The service was a bit slow because of how busy the restaurant was, but the bartender totally made it up to us by giving us free shooters! The shot was blue and sparkly and also amazing. Overall I really liked it here. I'm not sure if the bar is still open or if it's just an event space now, but I would go back to this bar.“
