“Came here at 10 am on a Saturday morning. The small bakery was packed with people, but I was still in and out in under 10 minutes. The trays of pastries were half full and customers were walking around with piles of bread and sweets. People come here to buy in bulk.

I got a chicken sandwich and 4 pastries for $13. The sandwich was fried chicken, tomato, mozzarella, jalapenos, avocado, lettuce, tomato, carrot.

The value and flavor was great and the place has a fun atmosphere that I haven’t seen in DC. No signs so I didn’t know names or ingredients- just pick what looks good unless you already know.“

We were invited to a German Christmas Market Themed party — very specific I know… Since it was a potluck, we decided to make currywurst. Heidelberg’s brats for the recipe were so good. We also grabbed their huge soft pretzel (yum) and their curry spread (double yum). Whether you go sweet or savory, you can’t go wrong. Love this bakery!“

My oatmeal raisin cookie had the perfect reason to cookie ratio, I can tell they spent time in the lab on that one. If you're walking M street after a good meal this is a place that I'd recommend stopping into for a nice dessert.“

“There was a short wait of ~10 minutes, but that is an easy trade-off and no surprise for the quality of our experience. We arrived right at the breakfast/lunch transition during the week and had the best bialy with salmon and herb cream cheese along with some sweet baked goods, morning bun and ginger molasses cookies. We dined in with some coffees and the staff brought out cold waters without any prompting. Clean seating, bathrooms and friendly faces completed the positive atmosphere. Come for the food, stay for the service and rest assured, the line is worth the wait.“

“I ordered a cake on Thursday at 1 pm to be picked up 4:30 pm on Friday for a birthday party. The man who picked up the phone was so accommodating and made sure that the customized message had the correct spelling of my name. When the cake was picked up, the lady was extremely lovely and kind. 10/10 would recommend and will be buying another birthday cake (very soon) from this bakery. I have also visited this bakery before to buy a n emergency cake and they have lots in the display case available. Perfect, delicious cakes. The one I got (raspberry chocolate mouse) was semi sweet and light, good for adults.“

There are a few regular flavors (sugar, chocolate chip…) and then 4 or more other flavors that change each week. “Come to this place. It’s first off delicious and smells like Copal (incense). Secondly the quality/quantity of food to price ratio is amazing, and mostly importantly it’s clearly locally owned.

I really like the lamb tiba and fish goulash. One dish is enough to feed 1.5 average sized people so bringing more than one person and sharing is the best idea. A good place for families/groups of friends.

In addition, they have this really delicious coffee in a tiny espresso cup that tastes bold and perfect as it comes.

“Charming bakery with not-too-sweet-desserts. Delicious tiramisu - this cake was gone minutes after blowing out the candles!

The owners had great communication for placing and picking up a full cake order. A special thank you for taking on my special request to decorate the cake with Russian writing! It came out perfectly beautiful and made my mom very happy :)“

“It was my first time going to this place , the staff can try to be more welcoming and pleaseant and help they clients to order , I had to take my mask off to speak and let them know what i wanted and as i was ordering I felt like i was being rushed to order , the food was tasting but tge owner needs to change the way the food is charged , I was charge for each separate item this is not a place where you order yourself a complete meal for a full charge , the food was delicious but I would not go back and another turn off in the bakery area they had flies around the sweet bread .“

The croissant had crisp, flaky layers with a sweet almond filling, while the ham and cheese pastry was savory and filling. The strawberry cake was light with just the right amount of sweetness. Everything looked fresh, and the variety made it easy to find something for everyone.“

The pastries and, cakes, muffins and croissants are excellent. Their homemade jams are wonderful. Their breads, quite yummy! I love their iced coffee , which has s a very subtle taste of cocoa. And, I am a very picky coffee snob. Service is sometimes a little chaotic, but the staff is super friendly. Weekend mornings are insanely busy- a reflection of how good they are. Amazing, spacious outdoor seating! LOVE this place.“
