“The food is fantastic but I did think the calamari was fried to hard so Im good on that. But when getting a dinner all the sides that I had was definitely working. And the definitely made sure that you get your money's worth or maybe it was my smile 😃. Bump that it was my smile so don't get mad is your plate doesn't look like mine. Im not a local and this was my second time. So when I'm in town this is one of my favorite spots. Also I did have take out and you can see my food in the photos.“

Each was so tasty we couldn't pick a favorite. Staff was intimate and friendly, explaining every dish, without being intrusive. “Albi absolutely deserves its Michelin star. The lamb was easily one of the best I’ve ever had — perfectly cooked, incredibly tender, and layered with complex, vibrant flavors. Every element on the plate felt thoughtful and beautifully balanced.

“We had an early dinner before attending a performance at the Ford’s Theater. We made reservations through Open Table and were immediately seated upon arrival. The service was great. Our server recommended several dishes that we loved. There were abundant vegan and vegetarian options. Chilorio de Res tacos were mouthwatering as were the Hongos en Milto ones. In fact, every dish we ordered was delicious. One dish (chilaquiles) never arrived from the kitchen but we were pressed for time so we opted to have it taken off our bill instead of waiting for them to prepare it separately. Dessert, Cafe de Olla, was phenomenal. Pics are only some of the items we tried. Great atmosphere for date night and a milestone birthday celebration. Highly recommend.“

“The overall experience was amazing, the food was great, and the service was perfect. The only item that I would offer a recommendation on is the kids' menu. It offered only 2 items, leaving most kids without something simple like eggs. The menu offered bacon or French toast, but no eggs, which seemed really interesting. Overall, my food and drinks were great. We would most likely go again in the near future.“

“I stopped in with friends before a event Sunday evening. The staff was warm and welcoming. I had the lentil sambusas and a peanut-infused coffee at the staff’s recommendation. The food was fast and delicious- the sambusas were warm and spicy, and the peanut coffee was delicious! In a kind gesture, the chef sent over a sampling of sushi to our table. Fresh and refreshing, the sushi was a nice complement to my sambusas and hot beverage. I’m not on this side of town often, but now I have a reason to come back.“

“First visit; I went for Restaurant Week. I ordered the chicken corn chowder, the short rib ravioli and the caramel cheesecake. The chowder was excellent, a great balance of corn and chicken and a goodly amount--but not too much--pepper. I loved it...and a very generous portion! The ravioli was super too--cooked to perfection, stuffed to capacity with cheese, accompanied by a nice hunk of well-seasoned and -cooked short rib. I wasn't able to finish it, so I took some home. I took the cheesecake home too and ate it after a couple of conf calls. Just the right amount of caramel with a couple of strawberries and a creme Anglaise sauce. Scrumptious!! I don't remember many occasions when I've loved all three courses of a meal, but that was certainly the case tonight. I can't wait to go back.“

My son has a love for Indian food ever since his trip to India. I have never tried Indian food ever. So this was my very first experience. From the moment we walked in the door our amazing experience began. The atmosphere is beautiful and so is the staff. Our server, April was super helpful and very knowledgeable. She has an amazing spirit and is wonderful with her job! The food... was very fresh, aromatic and DELICIOUS!! I started to come to Mr. Dunston’s store early last summer a trip provided by my boyfriend and I just can’t get enough! “Natives/Tourists/Passerby- Run, don't walk to the Lot 38 coffee shop! This must be your first pitstop in Navy Yard.

Do yourself a favor and skip those gross burnt bean chains with sketchy customer service where you feel like you're interrupting them as they forget your order. IYKYK.

Instead, head over to family-owned Lot 38, opened and operated by the sweetest folks who know the Navy Yard area well. Corner of L and 2nd SE on the same side of the street as the lobby of the Courtyard Marriott and across from the park.

The espresso brews fresh and the coffee drinks are consistently a 10/10. Lot 38 has breakfast and pastry options, both breakfast and lunch sandwiches too if you need a bit more filling bite with your brew to start the day's adventure. One of the friendliest places, this shop is always hopping and a fun community atmosphere. Even when it's packed, there's not a long wait for drinks or food. If you come by long enough they start to know your name and drink order. Good place to pop by, a nice (CLEAN!) place to meet up with your friends, or come by for a tea or coffee pick-me-up at the tables upstairs.
