“I stopped in for a late lunch. The food was fresh and delicious. Considering how nice the restaurant is, the prices are fair. I ordered a beet salad and added shrimp to it. My only complaint is that i wish it had more greens. The dressing was delightful. I loved the selection of mini desserts. The wait staff were all very kind and checked in to see if we were satisfied or needed anything. The atmosphere was also really nice.“

This was the best seafood restaurant I have ever been to. The food was incredible and so is the service. Everyone was so sweet. They let us try the soup before buying it to make sure we liked it. The lobster roll, hush puppies (recommended by front server) and lobster bisque was out of this world. Will definitely need to come back here every time in Washington. Even got lollipops on the way out. So great!!!“

For a seafood restaurant I was expecting a little more .... seafood options - there is essentially 1 dish from each seafood genre, and the oyster selection is woeful and shockingly expensive given you cannot select variety or provenance of the oysters.

Had the crab cake sandwich, and it was alright. For $40 I'd have appreciated a house made bun but I guess Kings Hawaiian is okay too lol“

“This was my first visit to this restaurant. I went because they participated in DC’s Restaurant Week for lunch. I chose it among many other restaurants because the lunch menu choices looked great. In fact, all three courses were delicious. I went as a solo female diner. I had asked my waiter when he took my order to leave the menu so I could decide on a drink later. My waiter never returned to take my drink order. I decided to forego having a glass of wine (since no waiter returned) and just have coffee with the dessert. However, not one waiter looked at me for the 5 minutes my hand was up. The table of 4 next to me did get wonderful attention by waiters. For me, however, no one asked me how my meal was. I finally flagged down a runner to order a coffee.

I was also disappointed that there was a credit card charge. I looked at their website when I returned home and never found text mentioning that extra charge. How can customers make an informed decision to bring cash if we don’t know about a credit card surcharge beforehand? It really is uncommon for DC customers to carry large amounts of cash these days. I recommend the restaurant rectify this.“

“I consider Jackie and the crew at Hook & Reel Wheaton to be friends of mine. I work close by and pop in at the bar often. The Happy Hour, which starts at 1PM (yes, you read that correctly) has insanely low prices, and the "pour" on both glasses of wine and cocktails are unmatched. “Was SUPERB. I have personally never had Filipino food so I didn’t know what to expect, and wow. Our server was the cutest woman, who was extremely attentive and remembered everyone’s orders and placement. She really has an incredible detail orientated memory. The food was incredible. The flavors in each dish were top notch. I had leftover tofu and mushrooms the next day and I’m sad I didn’t have more after that. Such a quaint little spot but it PACKS a punch. “I could not believe how good the food was. When everything came out I was legitimately giddy with excitement. I came here with my spouse and our three kids after hitting up a local event - so we were all hungry and a bit tired. The drinks came out quickly, and our appetizer came out shortly thereafter. And OMG the cornbread. I grew up in the south and cornbread was just so-so for me but this was hands down the best I’ve had in my 37 years. The food came out and the portions were absolutely enormous. My spouse and I shared a full rack of ribs (which were huge and meaty and so well seasoned) with a near bucket sized amount of fresh fries and a cast iron pan of Mac n cheese. My kids had tenders and fries and honestly there was so much I could’ve split one plate between the three of them. The price was super reasonable, even before I knew the portion sizes lol. I would absolutely come back and recommend it to everyone I know.“

“My friends and I went to Motorkat today after attending a play in Olney. Mikey was our server and was a stellar server. He was friendly yet professional. We came in with an appetite. We started with the smoked salmon and artichoke dip. The portion size was nice, and the chunky texture and flavor fit well with the Saltines. Next was the pistou salad, roasted sunchokes and the pork belly with creamy grits. The pistou salad was artfully plated and was soo good. The roasted sunchokes came with a miso ranch dressing and sesame seeds. It was so good and the mixed textures worked well. The pork belly sat on a bed of the creamiest grits I've ever had. The pork belly was tender, and the smoky tomatoes were a great paring and provided just enough acidity to cut through the richness of the dish. Still hungry, we ordered the flank cut short ribs and broccolini. The grilled broccoli were lighly tossed with chili garlic sauce, peanuts and basil. Divine. The flank cut ribs were Cumin scented and accented with a tart cucumber salad. They were fork tender and very flavorful. Our only disappointment was the scallion Pancake with pickled vegetables. We felt that overall then presentation was nice, but the Pancake was a bit thick and was a bit charred on the bottom. The pickled vegetables overpowered the pancake.. Out meal ended with mango sorbet. Overall, we loved the service Mikey provided, and all the staff was gracious. I highly recommend this spot for dinner. Thank you!“

“I can not believe this place. So first it has an indoor and outdoor place to order. The customer service was amazing. I was greeted and helped as soon as I walked in because they're were several people taking orders. Not only that but the Crabs were done already. I've never seen that before. It was like all she had to do was put them in a bag. They were still warm 15 minutes later when I was able to eat them. They were so so good too. I paid $20 for 1 dozen and I swear there were like 16 in the bag. This was super convenient as I was delivering a truck to Giant and could eat on My Lunch break.“

“My homegirl and I came to JC Crab house after work craving crabs on this this nice warm day. We got here around 6pm the place was empty and quiet just for us. We got the shrimp basket and a dozen male crabs…it was delicious! I washed it down with some Riesling wine, I will be be back when the weather breaks :)“
