“The night before the Marine Corps Marathon, we celebrated our anniversary dinner with family and relatives at Satay Club, a cozy Malaysian restaurant tucked in the heart of Washington DC. I’m always on the lookout for authentic flavors — and this place truly impressed us with every bite.

We started our feast with their signature Satay — both chicken and lamb. Perfectly grilled with smoky charred edges, the skewers were tender and flavorful, complemented beautifully by the rich, nutty peanut sauce. It felt like a taste of Kuala Lumpur in DC!

Next came the salted fish fried rice, aromatic and full of wok hei (that irresistible smoky aroma). The balance of savory salted fish, soft egg, and crisp vegetables made it comfort food at its best. The calamari dish was crispy on the outside and tender inside, served with colorful bell peppers and crunchy shallots — a delightful mix of texture and spice.

We also loved the tofu and eggplant stir-fry, which came in a deliciously savory sauce — rich, hearty, and deeply satisfying. To end the evening, we indulged in ice chendol and fried banana, a sweet and refreshing finish that brought nostalgic memories of Southeast Asia.

“We had tried to get a reservation for a while. We needed up sitting at the bar instead of the table by the front window. Bartender was very engaging and helpful. We definitely felt attended to. Helpful with food and drink suggestions. Friendly inviting atmosphere. Food was expertly prepared and delicious. Drinks perfect and was the type of drink I requested. Fun night all around. Talking about the food: I ordered,

● Fresh shrimp summerroll: it was fresh and done the right way, and the peanut sauce was good.
● Chiken spring roll: was crispy and not greasyat all, I did not like the souce that comeswith it (you need to make a new soice please).
● Dumpling: I had netter, can be much better.
● Pho beef combination: was just perfectly done, the broth was flavorful so as a whole it was just delicious.

Food quality was great and fresh, survise was really good and fast.

Would I come back? Yes I would and Highly recommend it.“

“Kanpai Korean BBQ is truly impressive! The restaurant is spotless, and the staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, always checking in on the tables. The food is fresh, high-quality, and delicious. Their buffet offers a wide variety of dishes, and the price is very reasonable considering you can enjoy unlimited barbecue, hot pot, and drinks, along with as much as you’d like from the buffet.

“I had a delicious lunch at Eerkin's in Rockville today. My friend and I shared an eggplant salad, an order of manta dumplings stuffed with pumpkin, and an order of fried noodles with chicken. Everything was delicious. The portions were very generous. We enjoyed making our choice from the tea bar--one serving with a complimentary refill was plenty for two people. Service was friendly and attentive. Parking is convenient and free for the first two hours. Looking forward to a return trip!“

“$2 Crazy Hour is absolutely insane! They have a great selection of sushi and various appetizers. The sushi is the same high quality as their dinner service ,the fish pieces are huge and incredibly fresh. The alcohol are 50% off, and the selection is massive,they're not stingy like other places that only offer one or two brands. It's a super friendly restaurant, and you absolutely cannot find a better deal in town!“

I did not make a reservation but was pleasantly greeted and immediately seated by Haywood. He was extremely welcoming and made me feel like a regular, although it was my first visit.

I sat at the bar and Anabel & Facundo were
friendly, energetic, and very attentive. I enjoyed conversation and did not feel awkward at all being a solo diner. Anabel prepared my cocktail beautifully and made sure it was picture ready!

Food was delicious! I had the beef dumpling, the filet mignon, and cheesecake. Temperature was good, wait was not long, and presentation was beautiful.

“Moh Moh licious is a bit of hidden treasure. The Moh mohs (Nepalese dumplings) are ridiculously good. Every time I order i tell myself I'll try more things and then get the same delicious dumplings and I'm happy. The C Momo (if you want some heat), Kothey Momo (if you want to control the sauce options), and Jhol Momo are my go to orders. Order more than you want because they are fantastic as leftovers. If this restaurant was further south on Georgia Ave there would lines out of the door.“

“I recently visited this spot and had an absolutely wonderful experience from the moment I walked through the doors. If you're looking for fantastic Asian cuisine, this place definitely needs to be on your radar.

​First off, the service is incredibly friendly and welcoming. The staff made us feel right at home immediately, and one of my favorite highlights was the complimentary hot tea they provided right as we sat down. It’s such a comforting, traditional touch that really sets a relaxing tone for a great meal.

​As for the menu, the food was simply great. Everything we ordered came out piping hot, beautifully plated, and packed with incredible flavor. You can tell they really care about the quality of their ingredients and the authenticity of their dishes. The meal completely exceeded my expectations.

“Had the deluxe sashimi. While I’m not a fan of white tuna, I get why it’s included. The hamachi was really good, melt in your mouth. As was the rest of the sashimi. “Memory lane. My old friend used to get food from here and share it with me. I didn't know that and didn't understand why she braved through the hood for this place until I left the DMV area. It's worth it. This was the first place that I was introduced to Chinese carryout food and mumbo sauce. Check this out: Mumbo sauce is a DIP for fried chicken wings and not a wet rub. The correct and best way is to dip your fried chicken wings in the mumbo sauce (like you dip your wings in ranch dressing). If you want to smother your wings in mumbo sauce, then that is your personal preference, but anyone or any place serving the wings to you already smothered in mumbo sauce is wrong. Mumbo sauce is pink and is supposed to come in a condiment cup (just like ranch dressing). Another thing: The wings here taste good on their own and better with mumbo sauce. Best wings in the DMV. Best mumbo sauce in the DMV. Best wings & mumbo sauce pairing in the DMV. I said it. I left the DMV years ago and there is no American Chinese carryout that compares to this place in my travels. Trust me, only NYC Chinese carryouts can dare compete. I only took off a star because of my ordering experience years ago. I brought my brother here to order carryout because I am not brave enough to go to the hood by myself, and the lady who took my order was rude, not nice, unfriendly, unwelcoming, the worst. It's as if I wasn't a human being. If I wasn't determined to have my brother taste the food (he agreed that it tasted really good), then I would have turned around and said forget it.“

“Not only is every dish delicious, but the service at Isshin is so warm, so welcome and so lovely. Secret menu item is the handmade dumplings (they have two types so ask for these specifically). Their miso soup is very rich but not overly salty, which can be difficult to find, yet it is here daily and for a good price. I’m particularly in love with their udon noddles, which I get vegetarian with tofu, and the veggies are perfectly crisp. Their sushi rolls are fresh and I never get the seaweed burps. I would just like more garlic and flavor in the brown sauce, but it was still tasty mmm will order again! I just added my own minced garlic and a little salt at home.“

Both my and my spouses dishes were very tasty, served up quickly, and really ample (burp!). Most tables out in the open of the station so ambient noisy is present.
