“Tasty but inconsistent. My husband finds their food too sweet - like they use more sugar in the sauces than normal. Twice they've forgotten to include the soup I paid extra for, so double-check before leaving.

Portion sizes are great - we always have lots of leftovers when we get 3 combo meals for 2 adult and 2 young kids.

We had the sesame chicken and orange chicken (both on the sweet side) and the hunan beef (very fresh and nice). We ordered medium spicy for the beef and even though I could see red pepper on it, it wasn't spicy - at all. I even gave some to the baby. The fried rice and egg rolls are good.“

“We visited this spot for lunch or dinner while working around the Wharton area. Since moving to Philly, we make it a point to return every year for lunch. Their Watercrest Stir Fry is a must-try, thanks to its tempting garlic aroma and crunchy Watercress. We particularly enjoy their deep-fried Silver Fish and Pork Chop—absolutely tasty. The pork intestines are also outstanding. If you love authentic cuisine, this is a place you should definitely visit.“

“I’m not even FROM this area. I just happen to look up “Chinese food near me” and winded up on the Red Line to Wheaton and found this place (for context, I’m staying in DC by DuPont Circle. Dunno WHY my phone gave me the Wheaton Area lol) anyway, I was NOT expecting this food to be so good! It’s fresh. Delicious AND portions were good! Definitely worth the train ride (and better than most Chinese place where I live…..which is PA LOL) AMAZING food!“

“I like authentic Chinese food and this place has dishes that are very similar to what I had in China. It’s really hard to find Chinese restaurants in the states that aren’t “Americanized.”

The numbing picked sour fish soup was delicious, and the side dishes (marinated chicken slices and cucumber salad) was extremely flavorful.“

“You know you’re going to have good food when the servers get excited about your menu decisions. Everything was absolutely wonderful. We got to sit at the bar with a direct view of the kitchen. I don’t know if the octopus or the truffle dumpling was my favorite, but I know I’m getting both when I go back. The whole fried snapper had a delicious light breading. The duck noodles were tasty too; I will probably try to get it spicier next time. I’ll likely be back in a couple of weeks. I’m still thinking about the food. Also, this husband-wife team perfected my experience by ensuring such excellent service. They need to teach a workshop to other restauranteurs.“

“I love these soup dumplings! We get the frozen ones to have on hand all the time and the fresh ones are a delicious snack when you’re there.

You have to order on your own and take a number and then it’s in the back of the market which is why I’m giving 4 stars for service and atmosphere but definitely try these!!“

“Above and beyond anything I've had food-wise in DC. First of all, the prices are incredible for the area and the portions are also solid. The beef rice bowls I are PERFECT. The vegetables are delicious, the meat is well-seasoned, the rice is cooked to perfection, and it has just the right amount of both sauce and spice. I'm also a bubble tea fiend and the matcha bubble tea is consistently tasty and mixed very well.
The staff I've spoken to are very personable and sweet, too. Service is incredibly efficient, but not so jarringly quick that it's clearly just taking stuff out of the back and throwing it into a bag. They take the time to prepare your food well. This little place is so, SO worth it.“

The soup dumplings are perfectly juicy and flavorful, the spicy beef noodle soup has a rich, satisfying broth with just the right kick, and the mango bubble tea is refreshing and not overly sweet. “Been scouting this place for about 3 weeks for a birthday dinner. I called over a week in advance for a party of 7 - 13 people. They were able too accommodate and the food was GOOOOOD! That hotpot was smokin and I thought I choose a milder one but it was excellent in taste for me. Now this was the first time I have had it so don't come at me if it doesn't hit you taste buds the same.“

“The ownership of this restaurant has changed, but the food did not disappoint! Ordered Fried Rice, Egg Roll, Chicken Broccoli, and Lo Mein. First of all, Fried Rice was not too soft or mushy. It was still really warm even after bringing it home. The egg in the Fried Rice looked fresh, being better than the last owner’s. The Egg Roll stayed the same, which was still really tasty! The Chicken Broccoli tasted great. Not too much sauce and the broccoli was not too soft or hard. The Lo Mein was well cooked with the right amount of sauce! The son working at the counter was also really kind while taking and giving me my order. Will be ordering again!“

Spicy potato noodle soup with beef. my friend gave it a 8.5 very spicy he was sweating but he said it had tender noodles, tender beef that was season well.

“We went to Washington, D.C., for the first time and enjoyed this beautiful city. We went to eat at some places, but one of our favorites is this place. A family restaurant with humble and kind attention. The food is so good. We went twice. If we visit this city again, we will come back to this nice place.“

“Since Eastern Gourmet has opened it has become our go-to for great Chinese takeout. We have ordered an extensive amount of the menu and there aren't any dishes that haven't blown us away. The food is amazing, the service is attentive, and the prices are quite reasonable for the quality and portion sizes.“

You can choose to cook yourself at the table which is what we did. It comes with all the sides that you would put in the noodles soup. “Peter Chang is an absolutely amazing chef. This is one of his many restaurants. The menu allows you to order many small plates (akin to tapas) to try a variety of the menu. I had the soup dumplings and Peking Duck Buns for my appetizers and they were exceptional! I had the Dan Dan Noodles for my main course. It was also delicious. In fact, they were the best Dan Dan Noodles I've ever eaten! The portion is also very large as I had some difficulty finishing it.“

I grew up nearby, and it was a staple for my best friend and me on our Sunday afternoons after having scoured the flea market for anything reasonably priced. The food is consistently rich and flavorful, the staff is always friendly, and the location itself is so cute. My favorite dish is the crispy beef. The portion size does suggest being split between two, but it's so good I usually just get greedy and have all of it myself. Perfectly crispy and the sauce is just sweet and savory enough, pairs perfectly with the side of rice. The classic lo mein options are also very good. With more of a mild flavor, I usually like to pair them with a protein. The fish dishes are also delicious, super fresh and rich, the spicy hot pot fish melts in your mouth. Overall my favorite place to hit up after a long day, especially in the winter 🫶“

“We enjoy Peter Chang’s in McLean. Food is always delicious and of high quality, some entrees can be on the oily side but you can ask for use of less oil during preparation. Service is great and ambience is quite nice. “I had dinner with my friends at this place for several times. The food is good. i am not happy about the recent mooncake order. My assorted flavor order (6) contains only purple yam and mix nuts. Purple yam flavor is not listed in the original order website. The most similar one is purple yam and egg yolk. My expectation would be one cake for each flavor with one / two duplicates. Then I made the call for confirmation, I was told that the assorted flavor order are picked by mooncake master. It would more helpful to specify such information in the website. Otherwise, a little disappointed after one month wait.“
