“We went to the Mudpenny in Ada for dinner. It was probably the worst food ever presented. The trout was overcooked almost to a dried consistency, the grain had wimpy mushrooms and no taste, completely left off the tomatoes, the drink was very small and over priced. We feel robbed!!!! The bill was split and it came to just under $50.oo for each person!! What a joke!! I want my money back!!“

“My family and I visited Grand Rapids for a weekend. I saw this restaurant recommended on Tiktok so thought we'd give it a try. On Friday, we got there around 8:20pm. On Google it says her restaurant closes at 10. We walked in and waited a few minutes before a young man was sent to tell us that she (the owner) was not taking anymore orders and would he closing at 8:30. Okay, maybe the time was wrong on Google. No biggie, we decided to go again the next day. We got there around 3:30pm. Upon walking in, I smiled at the owner and said hello. She looked at me with a rude face and did not greet us. A few minutes later she asked across the restaurant if we had reservations. I answered no. Did not see anything about reservations being required when looking online. She continued working and we continued to wait by the door. After a few minutes, she came to us and said if you want to eat here, it will be slow service, is that okay? And we told her we're okay and left. Now I understand she was busy, but both days we were not treated with warmth or felt like we were welcomed in the restaurant. The other customers she interacted with were treated kindly from what we saw. I personally feel like she does not care for black Americans, which sucks because we were trying to support her black business.“

“Hubby and I showed up after our movie on date night which made it about an hour before closing time. I was happy to see service was not lacking even though they might have been annoyed. So we made sure to choose our meal quickly so as not to drag this on and out of respect for those there. We ordered the meal for two and had the chicken lettuce wraps, Mongolian beef, and chocolate soufflé. I was pleased to see gluten free options for everything. Honestly I haven't got a single word of criticism constructive or otherwise. Everything was hot, fresh, and very tasty. Jersey Junction has lots of flavors to choose from as well as other ice cream specials (and lots of candy to buy too, if ice cream isn't your thing). There is some seating inside and on the porch, but I mostly love picking up a cone and then walking through downtown EGR and along Reeds Lake. Bliss! “I have been a fan of the Ice cream caboose since the day it opened and at that time I lived less than two miles away so it was a trip I made twice a week. I tried everything on the menu except for the non-dairy ice cream. The people who work in the caboose are always super friendly and you can plainly see it is a family environment. I will make the trip to the caboose at least twice each month of the summer season and fall. Overall the caboose is an icon of ice cream in the making.“

They are very conscious about dietary restrictions. Almost every other Thai restaurant in the metro area will tell you different things every time you ask for a dish with no fish, shrimp or oyster sauce. One time I would be told that it was free of those ingredients and the next time another employee would tell me that it wasn’t vegetarian.
