“The Charlevoix is a fantastic local restaurant with an evolving menu that perfectly embraces the seasons. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a great place to catch a game and meet locals who are always eager to share their love for the town.

We started our visit with a couple of cocktails expertly crafted by the bartender 'Peaches.' They were not only priced well but also absolutely excellent! Each drink was a delight, and we found ourselves wanting to try more.

While we didn't sample the food this time, we're excited to return and explore the menu. The locals were more than happy to share their favorites, giving us some great recommendations for our next visit.

“I visited this past Valentine’s Day weekend and visited again this past Saturday night. I didn’t have a reservation but still got seated very quickly. It was a hot, muggy night and the hostess said she had a seat on the patio which I was fine with. I had a magnificent server, Florence, who was kind, thoughtful to recommend a drink to the person I was with and even when our drinks were brought out within a short time, apologized for the delay (which wasn’t necessary). I wish I could give a review on the party next to us because they were extremely rude, not only not giving consideration to others being on the patio but were also incredibly rude to Florence. One woman in particular was grandstanding in front of this group and demanded to speak to a manager. Florence and the Manager were both composed and dignified in spite of a rude patron that was looking to get her bill comped (for a party of nearly a dozen people) going so far as to threatening to have everyone at her table write a terrible review. I have worked in the service industry and so have so many people I know and love so this situation had me worked up and I felt it necessary to write a review that our experience was magnificent. Don’t be an a-hole to servers of any kind just because you’re an a-hole yourself. If you give respect, you get respect. Go to The Sugar House. Be a good customer.“

“We walked in to the Buhl Bar and where greeted by George and Aish they where both so friendly and so full of information. We provided our preferences in taste and allowed George to select and make our cocktails. He nailed our tastes and delivered the best cocktails we have had. My first jalapeño margarita had over 20 seeds in it and they were kind enough to remake it for me without any big deal about it. The service was fantastic and we truly enjoyed our time! “Wonderful Coffee! The hand made syrups were probably the best I ever had. I tried two lattes, one with vanilla lavender and the other with honey cinnamon and they were great! I recommend both of them with oatmilk. The owner was super friendly with my party and I and we had a very nice conversation with her while she made our lattes. Down Under is only FOUR minutes away from the TCF, walking. There is NO reason to ever get Starbucks again while I am in Detroit for Youmacon. A definite must for all the con goers to give them a try!“

We have dined at all of the incarnations of this restaurant going back to the original Bronze Door in the 70s - today’s dinner was by far the best meal we have ever had there! We almost did not eat there tonight based on previous experiences but they are close to home and we wanted to dine early. So glad we did! Every dish we had was superb! “So good! The octopus was the best octopus dish I've ever eaten - it was so tender with a slight crisp and so flavorful. I didn't even get a picture before we dug into it. The pork collar was a great blend of textures and flavors - I got extra bread just to have a delivery vehicle for the peach conserva in this dish. The croquettes were a must too, they packed so much mushroom goodness in them. We got 3 small plates and 4 large plates, which was more than enough for 4 people. Will be coming back again.“

“We made a 6:30 pm reservation online for my wife'sbirthday. Someone called to confirm the reservation within minutes and confirmed we were celebrating a birthday. Which was strange because no one ever said Happy Birthday! That aside we had the best dinner. Our server Shelly was amazing. She gave great recommendations and history on the restaurant. We visited the restaurant under the former owners but the new owner updated everything. Shelly even let us know about the windows in the hall where we were able to see the chefs making food, and the dry aging meat was neat to see. We had crab cakes, wedge salad, French onion soup, Aged Ribeye and Halibut. We couldn't eat another bite, so we ordered the chocolate flour less cake and it was an enormous piece that we enjoyed two nights! Great evening. It was dinner and experience! I forgot to mention the jazz band was a lot of fun too!“

“My friend and I had lunch at Coriander Kitchen and Farm yesterday 6/23. We came back because we enjoyed our first visit last year so much! However, at this visit the food was not so good. I ordered fish and chips and my fish was overcooked and the french fries were not hot. My friend ordered smelt which were awful and greasy which we sent back. We asked for lemon which never came to the table and our waiter seem to be the only one there and they were busy so I don't think we got the attention that we were due. I know this establishment can do better, so I will be going back. But yesterday's service and food were awful.“

“My friend took me to evening bar for the first time last night and it was a beautiful bar. Modern art deco decor and wonderful cocktails. Shiva was amazing. I had to decide between two cocktails and she described them both in detail that helped me make my decision. I decided on one and it was perfectly up my alley and just as she described.
