“We have dined for breakfast on various occasions. The tastes of the foods was amazing. The presentation of the plates was breath taking, absolutely beautiful. The only shortfall we found in the restaurant was the BLINDING sun on the East side windows. A good set of adjustable blinds would be a welcomed addition on those East side windows. All in all, the food was so good and so hot, the presentation was beautifully displayed and the staff were friendly and well experienced. We will come back and recommend restaurant to others.“

“Do not let the looks of this establishment fool you. The food is incredible. The inside looks like a restaurant but im unsure if they seat anyone. All the lights were off in the dining area and one section was full of boxes. The gentleman working the front desk / phones was very nice and helpful. I got the almond chicken dinner and was it packed with flavor! They also give you a huge portion of fried rice and chicken...enough to feed 2 people. I highly recommend checking out this spot if you are in the area...this might be my new go to Chinese spot.“

“First time trying this place (Chinese restaurant), and I wish I had done it sooner! They offer a great mix of Cantonese and Szechuan dishes. I ordered the shrimp with Maggi seasoning, paired with steamed rice and wonton soup. The wonton soup was light and refreshing, and the shrimp were perfectly seasoned and flavourful. Generous serving for the main dish, and both dishes were simple but done really well. The house tea was perfectly brewed, and the service was prompt and excellent. “I have been a customer and have enjoyed delicious meals since it opened in 1985. We had moved away 20 years ago and whenever we came back to visit we would try to go to Shin Shin whenever possible. Staff have always been very friendly and I can honestly say I have never been disappointed in a meal. Last night my husband and I had a dinner date there. We were not disappointed. “Tried this place after my go to Chinese restaurant closed down and this place absolutely blew my old restaurant out of the water! The chicken was so flavorful and crunchy, not that rubbery chicken you get from other places. The egg drop soup was absolutely perfect as well with crispy chips to go with it. And the amount of food you get for the price is insane! You could feed a whole family with one meal! I will absolutely be ordering from here again soon and recommending it to everyone I know. This is officially my new favorite restaurant! I can’t say anything about the atmosphere or the restaurant itself because I used DoorDash, but I’m sure the dining experience is just as lovely!“

“Snow Day with my Grand 👧 👧 and the bonus Grand 👧.
We spent a fabulous day in the snow yesterday. Layered up we ran a few errands and then headed to Johnny King Noodle on Fort St in Detroit. We saw the view of the Detroit River and The Ambassador Bridge and headed in to have some much needed Hot Lunch. Johnny King noodle has a large menu of Ramen and Rice Bowls. Delicious 😋. The best part is they have a kiddie noodle 🍜 that's not on the menu. They also have a Dorm room noodle 🍜 bowl that the youngsters can create their own bowls. Saves me the headache of picking through what everybodues likes are.
This was a big hit. We smashed that hot broth and 🍜 🍝 like we had a straw. Except it was chop sticks. Which is another culture experience for my grands to learn. How to use chopsticks. The 4yr old really did a good job with her chopsticks. I was impressed! Anyway, I could talk for paragraphs about this quaint little Jewel but I'll just post a Pic. We ended our day cheering on The Avatar Fire and Ash as it was the cap of our Snow Day Outting. Thank you to our waiters and the cooks they were kind and thorough. I really enjoyed the day. 😌 😌

“Wonderful service 😌when he said 5 minutes he meant it prices are better than anyplace in the city of Detroit had dinner from there yesterday absolutely filled me up I recommend the shrimp egg rolls and crab lagoon I think thats how you say it but it's only $9.30 and the prices are wonderful for what your getting my brother ordered some large orange chicken and when I tell you that box was like 8 pounds it was heavier than a newborn don't even get me started on the taste 🤤TEN OUT OF TEN WOULD RECOMMEND 😌“

“Really nice folks and beautiful interesting interior. Been on my list opening 4 months ago. Ordered Pupu Platter, Chinese Scallion Pancakes, Large Chinese Veggies Soup and Chicken Egg Foo Young. Surprised when eating inside no plates or silverware. Everything brought out in to go containers that's okay. Absolutely fantastic Delicious Scallion Pancakes not found in many places. The quart of Spot packed full was good except broth zero flavor like water. Chicken Egg Foo Young nothing like ever had weird crunchy patties with very small amount of gravy. The very good Rice and a mega amount. Egg Roll spot on Wonderful. The bad absolutely worse ever Pupu Platter Chicken Wings dry, Crab Rangoon Yuk, Shrimp heavy batter couldn't taste Shrimp. Ribs just ok, Spring Rolls a winner and what they call Teriyaki Beef I know as Balamaki was great. I'm willing to give them another chance to change my 3 star rating. Great effort by cook just not up to par with dozen other Chinese restaurants in the area.“

Went back there because the only place that I had found where I live now, and the Chinese food was really good, closed down shortly after covid. “I’ve been trying to find good Chinese food for a few years now. I live downtown on Jefferson and I don’t like the 2 located near Belle Isle.

I only ordered shrimp fried rice because I didn’t want to be disappointed.

My fried rice was perfect. The rice was a tad bit chewy but it had a great flavor which tells me it was made in a well seasoned wok. The shrimp actually had a little flavor to them. Most places the shrimp just taste boiled. I love egg foo young so I’ll be back to try that next time“
