“This is our family's absolute favorite Chinese restaurant. They give you a very large portions of their super delicious food at a reasonable rate. And I'm not embellishing, I literally don't have to cook for the next 2 days when we get food from here. The employees especially the gentleman that always answers the phone and cashes you out are so friendly! Plus they have cool live plants and some fish tanks also atmosphere while you're waiting since it's not a dine in restaurant. Keep up the wonderful work New Hong Kong Inn and staff!“

I consider myself a Chinese food connoisseur. Tried many of the places downriver, this one's the best for the price the portions and quality. Good job Rockies we love you!“

“The Dearborn, Michigan, restaurant has been a longtime fixture in our community, with employee longevity guaranteeing great service and consistent taste. On this visit, I had the signature lettuce wraps, which were plentiful and tasty. The pork egg rolls were still hot when they arrived at the table, and the dipping sauce had a bit of a horseradish-y tang to it. My chicken fried rice entree was large and had great flavor, and all three dishes were fresh. Dan, the manager, came to my table to check on our order and he was most gracious and friendly. I'll be back again soon.

“First of all this is not a complaint, just my honest opinion. I called my order in and arrived to pick it up about 30 minutes later. The food was not ready so I waited another 10 or so minutes. The food was hot and fresh, the rangoon is delicious, I also got some other entrees that were good but the lemon chicken had a few hard and questionable pieces that made me not want to finish it. Everything else was fantastic. Now to the atmosphere, dirty dishes piled on tables and I didn't see anywhere appropriate sit and wait so I waited in my car until my food was ready.“

“Their food is very good place used to be around on Michigan avenue they close for a while after the grandparents passed. But the grandchildren open it back up using the same recipes in the food and quality is just the same. Smaller building there for less or lack of an atmosphere but the service is excellent and so is the food quick service too. Usually a little bit of a wait but that's just cuz they're busy because their quality is so good

“So the people here don't speak the best English, please keep that in mind and be patient with them. Otherwise, the food is the best Chinese in all of Detroit. Portions are great, and everything they make tastes amazing. Definitely worth a try if you want some traditional Chinese!“

“Tried the general's chicken lunch combo. Was mildly spicy, not overly sweet, and chicken was pretty good quality. Fried rice was average, kind of on the bland side. Very big portions. Eggroll was ok, but on the small side. I liked that they plastic wrapped the entire food carton to keep it warm/fresh. Service was good.“

“I've been going here since I was a kid, I am 28 now. The food is cooked very well, not too salty. The almond chicken is my favorite, but the noodles and other dishes are fantastic also. They have the best jumbo egg rolls compared to any other restaurant. Try the Hot and Sour soup!“

“Really nice folks and beautiful interesting interior. Been on my list opening 4 months ago. Ordered Pupu Platter, Chinese Scallion Pancakes, Large Chinese Veggies Soup and Chicken Egg Foo Young. Surprised when eating inside no plates or silverware. Everything brought out in to go containers that's okay. Absolutely fantastic Delicious Scallion Pancakes not found in many places. The quart of Spot packed full was good except broth zero flavor like water. Chicken Egg Foo Young nothing like ever had weird crunchy patties with very small amount of gravy. The very good Rice and a mega amount. Egg Roll spot on Wonderful. The bad absolutely worse ever Pupu Platter Chicken Wings dry, Crab Rangoon Yuk, Shrimp heavy batter couldn't taste Shrimp. Ribs just ok, Spring Rolls a winner and what they call Teriyaki Beef I know as Balamaki was great. I'm willing to give them another chance to change my 3 star rating. Great effort by cook just not up to par with dozen other Chinese restaurants in the area.“

“There was a faint non food smell on the noodles, almost like flower scented air freshener. So I was not able to eat that. But the rest of the food tasted fresh, was filling and was really good! I definitely need more spice in the spicy dishes, though. Will order again but will stay away from the noodles... unless that's not normal... then I will order noodles again. “This is my first visit to Mandarin Kitchen. I ordered #4 almond chicken combination with wonton soup and egg roll and hot tea. The almond chicken was pretty good topped with brown gravy. Wonton soup and egg roll was nice and hot and (egg roll was) crispy. 4 and 1/2 stars.“

They could. not. have packed anymore into the containers at. all. I tried a little bit of everything and all if it is flavorful and delicious without salt being the main ingredient. I had meant to take pictures before diving in but as soon as I opened them up and the aroma of fresh hot food registered I completely forgot. This is my new go to for Chinese hands down. “Got the General's Tso and Beef Chop Suey dinners. Both were amazing. First time ever having yellow rice(it came with both orders). It was delicious and even had goodies in the rice, like onions and green onions. It was great! The spring roll that came with the dinners was also delicious.
