“The atmosphere✔️Service✔️ She was Awesome???Food presentation‼️??Food???‼️✔️✔️I had: crispy shrimp deviled eggs, Fish Fry and small salad???We celebrated two birthdays? and they both received a birthday treat? Will definitely go back‼️“
“more of a classy ambiance - great for business meetings, team dinners, dinner with parents (which is what we did!) it's a solid spot, just misses with the "IT" factor. servers are very kind and had great recs we enjoyed. fav dishes: crab cakes, linguine, Rossa pasta & tres leches gelato skip on: risotto, tiramisu (very rummy, unless ur into that) , caramel custard (too sweet)“
“It was a pleasant surprise visiting this place because I definitely did not know about it at all prior to trying the food, but it was a wonderful balance of price, quantity, and flavor, to the point that it made my dining experience worth it! Kataki is nowhere close to an upscale or fine dining place but I felt like I paid for what the food was worth, and possibly even more! The highlights are definitely the sushi! My partner and I only got the yellowtail and the salmon roe sushi but they both tasted very flavorful, and the koshihikari rice was tasty as well. I could tell that the sushi was a specialty in this establishment. The price was very reasonable as well, with $7 for the yellowtail sushi and $11.5 for the salmon roe sushi. The Kataki rolls were great as well, even if I knew that the spicy tuna, spicy salmon, and spicy yellowtail combination wasn't uncommon. Someone it tasted fuller and more flavorful than similar items I have had elsewhere. The tonkotsu ramen was solid as well, and I was given a good amount of pork with good texture that tasted slightly different from what I was used to. The broth was only okay, but I know it's hard to achieve perfection for such in a restaurant so I was okay with it. For $14.50, it was worth it!The appetizers such as shumai, softshell crab tempura, age tofu, and takoyaki were also solid, and once again, for $7.5 each ($8.95 for the softshell crab) it was worth it, but they were not as good as the sushi in terms of economical value. The octopus meat in the takoyaki was hard. The age tofu relied on the sauce for flavor completely. And the shumai was a bit soggy. Regardless, they were all solid enough!Once again, I did not expect myself to give a 5 rating to a Japanese food place that wasn't the most well-known for its authenticity or fanciness, but the food was tasty and it made me "feel good" here! There are many establishments like this one, but somehow the food here has had more flavor in comparison.“
“Nice service. Sebastian and Krishna has good recommendations for you. In Minneapolis, I can say its the best. Tried veg and non veg both. All dishes were good and most importantly fresh. Try Kulfi Faluda for the Desert!! Definitely, coming back from Rochester and would strongly recommend to all my friends.“
“I had lobster Mac and cheese as well as a Connecticut lobster roll and this is the place to go! Dang it was good! The entire store is full of options for fresh seafood and local merchants products. Wow! Thank you costal seafood for the great experience. Chef asked me how it was as well!“
“Everything was absolutely superb! Our waiter, Carlos, took excellent care of us. Our food was exceptional ! From the seafood platter to steaks and all the accompaniments. And of course the best cocktails and wine. The evening was very important to us and Capital Grille and Carlos took the best care of us.“
“I was just there last night for my bachelor party, and I’m still hearing from my guests how much they loved the choice of venue! We loved the food, we loved the drinks, we loved the atmosphere and warmth of the staff who even joked around with us!I made a last minute reservation for a large group 5 days prior, and not only did Jax Cafe have no trouble accommodating us, they also had custom matchbooks made up for our party! We were held up by a prior event and all it took was a simple phone call to push back our reservation an extra half hour — on Saturday night for 14 people!?!We appreciated ownership personally welcoming us and recognizing the exuberant spirit we came in the door with, and to see owners and staff working together to make our experience great was quite refreshing — the kitchen staff even took a vision-impaired friends filet back to the kitchen to cut it into bite size pieces for him! Jax Cafe truly put everything into their craft, and our glasses were always full, and so were our bellies when we left.I could not have hoped for a better experience, and I am thankful that circumstances brought us to their door and hospitality! Thanks again! We will be back!“
“We ate at the Oceanaire, on a Saturday. Reservation was at 6pm. Sat immediately and greeted right away. Farrah was our server and she was amazing. She has been there ten years and knew all about the menu and seasonal specials. Had great recommendations and obviously knew what she was doing and talking about. We will definitely request to sit in her section upon return visits. She made our experience absolutely fantastic.“
“Took my wife we had a great experience , the food was delicious , atmosphere was soothing and the service was really good , the waitresses kept check on you whether you need anything else , or a refill of soda etc .Parking: The parking is behind the restaurant , you have to drive in within the intersection of the restaurant and the other building at the side and the parking lot is both sides“
“JJ's is awesome. Food is always super fresh and they're very kind and patient. There are 4 tables for four and a bar along the window for a few more people.Kid-friendliness: Basic place, fine for kids if they're willing to eat it!“
“Our senior group of 12+ folks loved our food, ranging from chicken pot pie, salads, chicken chow mein, etc. All good. Prompt, (did I mention we were a crowd?!?) Service was excellent. Warm, casual atmosphere. Prices were decent too. Found out that Mondays are $5 martini days!!! Hmmm.Parking: Seemed like ample parking. I arrived at noon and the lot was almost full... almost!!“
“Sushi Takatsu in Minneapolis offers a delightful dining experience that stands out in the city's culinary scene. From the moment you walk in, the inviting atmosphere sets the stage for an exceptional meal. The sushi here is a real treat, featuring a variety of fresh, flavorful options that cater to both classic and adventurous palates. Each dish is prepared with care, showcasing the chefs' expertise and attention to detail. The staff's friendly and attentive service further enhances the experience, making you feel genuinely welcomed. Whether you're a sushi connoisseur or trying it for the first time, Sushi Takatsu is the perfect spot to enjoy a memorable meal with friends or family. It's a place where the quality of food and the warmth of hospitality come together beautifully.“
“Service was top tier, the setting was so romantic. The waitress went above and beyond. They all celebrated me with a complimentary drink and dessert. I was spoiled! And I’ll be back to dine again! The staff, the chef, thank you! Thank you so much, and you all deserved that nice tip and much more!“
“Always a great experience here. I am a transplant from CT and it like many higher end New England establishments. It is priced about the same, as well, so check their menu prices on line before you decode to bring a date. A good bottle of wine, two entrées and a shared dessert for two usually drops between $250 and $300. It is well worth it. Everything is always prepared perfectly and the portions are pretty generous.“
“JJ's is the best. You can get a load of fish for a decent price, and other options too if you dont like fish. I get a teriyaki chicken bowl which is great and the steamed chicken buns are the best I've had! They always make the order accurately and are friendly and accomodating!“
“We ended up here because two other options were closed for Easter Sunday. We are thankful we did, however. The food was amazing, especially my wife’s Minute Chicken entree. Bread pudding and crème brûlée for dessert were both awesome. Best bread pudding I’ve ever had. To top it off, we ran into your server Sam, who is from our hometown. All around great experience, thank you!“
“Stopped in to COV for drinks at the bar, and had a nice time. The bar has TVs and also good people watching. I got the Moscow mule and it was really good! I noticed that they have a happy hour on Saturdays from 10-4. I plan to come back for happy hour with girlfriends!“
“Easy to make reservations, seated at once. Impressive service. After not making contact with wait staff for 15 minutes, we inquired who our server was. Manager responded to our wait exactly the way a hospitality professional should: immediate apology, immediate service and a free appetizer. ( Filet was impeccable, New York strip good, special request handled expertly. Artichoke dip and creme brulee excellent. Butter made in house? But best of all, the food came out HOT. Incredible. Definitely recommend.“
“We sat at the bar and shared shrimp and a steak and fries. It was very good, the bartenders are very friendly and make a good martini. It's quite loud in the bar area, a little cramped, so if you have a hard time hearing it wouldn't be the place for you.“
“We dinned in last week during the snow storm. It was pretty empty, so service was quick. The crab cakes were delicious and I appreciate that it came with 3 cakes instead of the normal 2 at most restaurants. My fiance and my teen ordered the chicken and waffles. Warning, the chicken was hot!! My son says he'll get regular strips next time. My fiance liked them. I ordered the New Orleans salmon. My dish was good however with the name New Orleans, I expected way more flavor. I had to add a decent amount of salt to my food and I NEVER use salt. I'll probably order something different next time but we will definitely be returning!“
“Bring a friend/loved one, & get a pound of black mussels, a pound of shrimp (peeled), with the house sauce blend, medium spiciness, then on the side get a 2-piece of fried catfish to dip in the sauce, & the fries come with a tasty dipping sauce.Take the bibs & gloves that they offer you. With a couple drinks + tip; it will be close to $50, but it's soo good!Parking: Shares a lot with its strip mall.“
“This Cantonese restaurant is not to be missed. We stumbled upon it when over by the U of M and couldn’t have been more impressed with the delicious food. We’ve been here several times now and our must-order is the salt and pepper beef short ribs hot pot,(picture included). The beef is so tender and perfectly seasoned, coming with onions, peppers, and a side of rice of course. Other dishes have been very enjoyable too. The staff is kind, quick to attend to you when you arrive, and clearly the cooks are experts in their field. What’s nice about here too is that it has a good dining atmosphere with a lot of eat-in patrons, not just operating primarily as a takeout joint like many Asian restaurants do. Highly recommend!“
“Slammin’ ceviche!!! Loved everything we ate here, especially enjoyed seeing beef heart and other unique Peruvian dishes on the menu in addition to Mexican standbys. The cocktails were really solid, especially the chicha morada infused Pisco sour, which would put many pricier cocktail spots in the neighborhood to shame. I’m very excited to go back. Our server was awesome too. Prices are reasonable and we got a LOT of food+drink for what we spent.“
“The go to place for dim sum. Family owned with a younger kid running the restaurants which always means the food is amazing. The dim sum menu is voluminous with the traditional dishes. Servers don’t walk around with carts but will walk around with plates of food. Hard to find that nowadays with the traditional carts. The food here is always fresh and busy. Definitely recommend to everyone!“
“Went here for our anniversary. This place has been around forever and has great reviews so we were really excited. Our server was great and really helpful. Unfortunately we thought the food was pretty lackluster. There wasn't a ton of flavor to anything we ordered. For the price, I don't think we'll be back.“
“Prices are higher than the website says, but portions are HUGE! Price to food ratio is great and there's a good variety. The chicken (we had tenders and popcorn chicken) and fries were good enough that I wished I could eat them all. (looking forward to leftovers)Staff were professional and food came out fast.Definitely planning on coming back to try out some of the other items.Parking: Not many parking spots. (4 including one handicapped)“
“Kind of your traditional tex mex place. The food was fine. Classic endless bowl of chips with salsa. The queso was good. All dishes were served with rice and beans. Large menu, and lots a variations of same dishes between carnitas, pollo, pork and shrimp. Classic burrito, enchilada, chimmichanga, quesadilla, etc selectionsGood margaritas. Fairly standard with a few twists, but nothing super crazy innovative. The service was good, they were very helpful and where to please.Really a good place to get a tex-mex bite and meet up with a few friends for a casual chat. A smaller version of the the old Don Pablo's with maybe a bit better foodVegetarian options: There is stuff you can find on menuParking: In a mini-mall area so has a parking lotKid-friendliness: There are plenty of kid friendly items on menuWheelchair accessibility: On ground level and you can get chair through door. It is not the most convenient though with tables. Lots of booths“
“Stop by for a quick bite. 9-ball regionals next door at Jimmy’s. Staff very pleasant! Got Vietnamese iced coffee, two bowls of pho annd spring rolls and it was delicious! Hole in the wall vibe kind of restaurant. Thank you so much for your service!“
“I've been going to this place more of the lake street location originally ? but for over 15 years. Both locations always tasted the same and the sauce is always a MUST. WHEN I come to Town and only in the summer from out of state, I have to get my child good fix ... Wings and fries or the fried rice .. never disappoint“
“Very cute decorations, love the sea and fishing atmosphere. The service is fast and polite. The food was served very hot and fresh! Loved the unique choices like hush puppies and catfish. The hush puppies' flavor was spot on, too! Delicious! If you like seafood, give this place a try.“
“It was my first time there and I loved it. We did a walk-in on Monday and had a wonderful experience from top to bottom! Our server was friendly and very knowledgeable. The atmosphere is homey and unpretentious. The food was fantastic! Especially the Aguacate - I can’t stress this enough, get the Aguacate!!Drinks were good as well, plus they have Modelo on tap! Cannot wait to go back and sit on the patio this summer!“
“The amount of lobster per roll is comparable to other places in the area. The lobster was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Is it expensive? Of course but you’re at the mall of america getting lobster. It is equally as expensive as any other lobster places in Minnesota.“
“Really great! Celebrated our adult Son's bday, lobster rolls were fantastic, Brussel sprouts were off the charts. Drinks were a little pricey and mediocre, but overall a great spot! Our Server even brought out a bday dessert and we never even mentioned the celebration, he listened and represented the establishment very well! Our favorite family bday spot!“
“Ok guys, I've been seeing this place for a while, so I decided to stop by. Why, oh whyyyyy didn't someone stop me before?? I LOVED this food! Cajun Style Seafood! I had the "Seafood Delux" and my wife had the Catfish basket, both were supremely very good!! The fries were excellent with the catfish as well. The serv8ce is very good, very friendly and super nice!! That Lobster tail and snow crab, good Lord!!!! My eyes were floating, it was so good!! I loved it, my wife loved it and I know, YOU WILL LOVE IT!!! COME BY AND TRY THESE GUYS, YOU'LL BE HAPPY!!“
“The older guy at the register is just happy taking money from blacks they do this in every community. He doesn’t smile very rude (smug looking) he doesn’t seem pleased to be there. The guy with the glasses is more welcoming. They obviously just there for the money“
“On the way home I swung in here so get some Smoked Salmon for a neighbor friend of mine. The place wasn't all that big but they had more than enough selections for anyone. I picked up his Salmon and got myself some fresh Herring. Did I know they sold it in Cub foods also? Picked out some Cod for the grill and a couple of "homemade" jams they had. Like I said they have a good selection of jams and jellies and other sweet treats. I also saw some knick-knacks that were refreshingly made by some local people who were quite talented. I'll be stopping by again the next time I pass through on the way up to our next rental cabin And on our way home.“
“This photo may look like an incredibly basic breakfast…and, well, it is! This is my go-to meal when it comes to breakfast or brunch: the old “standard” or “classic” breakfast. But, even though it’s basic, it’s surprisingly easy to mess up. Fortunately, The Lynhall’s version is both delicious and well executed in all the right ways. Two eggs over easy, perfectly cooked and still hot when they arrived at our table. Lightly toasted sourdough bread. Crispy, generously seasoned potatoes (soggy or overly greasy potatoes can be a real bummer). And, Impossible Breakfast sausage, which was a pleasant surprise. I don’t eat meat very often anymore and for some reason it’s challenging to find alternative meat options at our local breakfast joints. The Lynhall has a wide range of creative menu items (rye crepes to falafel to tea brined turkey), but the “Lynhall Standard” is perfect for me. Oh, and the interior decor is anything but standard. Be sure to check it out for yourself. And while you wait for your breakfast, don’t be shy about exploring the bakery case. (Shown in the video is a delectable blueberry muffin.)“
“I've always loved this place. Food is always impressive and delicious, service is usually fast, staff are amazing people, and great drinks available, imported and domestec.Pictured here is "El Trio": grilled jumbo shrimp on grilled chicken on a succulent sirloin, along with refried beans, rice, and guacamole salad (not pictured). Best meal I've had in so very long. I left as a very happy (and stuffed) man. ¡Qué perfecto!“
“This place is a restaurant \\u0026 bar in a hotel (Embassy Suites by Hilton Minneapolis North). But the atmosphere is good, served beer is icy cold, foods are are hot and tasty (at least for me), what else do we want? If I might add, the waiter was welcoming and friendly. Maybe it might be a little bit pricy, but I liked it.“
“The food here was good, the portions and food choices are great. The only problem for me was that the food was too salty. It might of just been the day though. The restaurant is a decent size, they have single bathroom stalls. The staff here is very friendly! They also have a good variety of drink options. The other good thing about this reataurant is that it has a parking lot behind the building with a rear door to enter trough!“
“We stopped here on December 24th looking for fresh lutefisk and were pleased to find we could buy a 5lb filet. The lutefisk was amazing I was told and in the future we will be sure to call ahead and place the order. The manager was running back and forth with several options before we decided to just buy the 5lb filet. I can say I was amazed, they cooked it in the oven and when I returned that evening I could hardly smell anything other than the usual air fresheners we have in the house. So thanks again for helping keep a Christmas tradition alive and hope the girls hockey team does great.“
“Food is good for the price you pay, expectations for what the area offers is what you truly would expect. After looking at the other reviews for the place i'm questioning if people realize this is not chic fil a? Anyway i ordered they gave me a time estimate and gave me my food and told me to have a great day. I'll be honest though this isn't the place for your average day karen. The workers are not going to kiss your feet when you walk in. You order your food and go on about your day.“
“Amazing food! Delivered hot and fresh. Great flavor and price. Feels like northeast can be a little lacking in the not overly trendy Indian food market and this place blew us away! We will absolutely order again. Samosas, naan, tikka masala and matar paneer were all “
“We always have a really really nice experience here and tonight was no exception. We sat in the Bar area and Tami took wonderful care of us. The “Bad Hombre” cocktail is one of my favorites and I had been craving one. The food which is consistently outstanding was tonight as well. The Birria Tacos were so so good. Easy parking and lovely festive community atmosphere. So happy this small business is so fantastic!“
“What a find! We didn’t know this place existed and stumbled upon it for a birthday dinner. It was a Saturday night and the staff were working hard. Our food, from platters to chicken wings to hush puppies, was all phenomenal; we will definitely be back.“
“We stumbled upon "Barwaqo" as it's now called when we were headed to the Electric Fetus for a book signing event; apparently this place changed hands about a month ago (Oct 2023) so previous reviews under the old Cala name are not relevant. We felt very welcomed by the owner and staff, and had an amazing dinner of Somali chicken and rice, sambusa, and the spinach dish which game with roasted goat and a fava bean soup with glutinous rice cakes. Everything was fresh and delicious and obviously made with a lot of care, and all of the food we got only came to about $45. We were thrilled to have randomly taken a chance on an unknown place and we will go back in the future. When we talked to the owner outside afterwards, I asked one of the staff what "barwaqo" means in Somali and he said "gift" but when I looked it up, it means "prosperity." Take a chance on this place at the corner of Clinton/Franklin instead of the Wendy's across the street!“
“The best thing about M&S is that they are consistently good across all locations that I have visited. When traveling, you don't always want the spendiness of Capital Grille but you also want better food than Maggiano's, this experience fits as a nice option somewhere in between. So when I moved to SW Minneapolis, it was nice to find this location. I would go a lot more but parking is terrible there. That is my only complaint.“
“Food was great, we had the braised beef & a crispy seared lemon fish with capers that were both awesome. Good atmosphere, hopping with outdoor deck dealing in warm months. Intimate lighting as the evening goes indoors. You can watch the kitchen cook & the fireplace crackle with fresh hardwoods giving a wonderful smell to the place. Desserts were great too.“
“I was very pleased that even though our reservation was 12:30, the sound level was quite reasonable and we didn't have to raise our voices to hear each other. Our waitress was very nice and attentive and we enjoyed our sandwishes very much. I did bring a new friend who feels the same as I do, so she might become a new customer. I do enjoy Mill Valley Kitchen. It is a hike for me; I live on the Mississippi River, but worth the trip.“
