“Got the taste of Kansas City and it was really good. In that platter comes pulled pork, half a chicken, brisket, and beef ribs. The brisket was disappointing but the rest of it was amazing. The sides we got was cheesy corn, potato salad, and beans. The potato salad was not good at all, the rest was really good. Ordered a side of sausage medallions and burt ends. Both were a bit disappointing with the burt ends being just ok. I also ordered a grill cheese kids meal with fries. The fries were good, the grill cheese was good. The grilled cheese is just American cheese and white bread so perfect for kids. The BBQ sauce was really good. I will definitely be ordering from them again just not certain things like the potato salad.“

“I have to say 100 out of 10 starts!!!!! A friend asked me if ive ever been, said never heard of this place. Well i ordered the 3 meat 3 side platter, got the burnt ends, brisket and ribs with beans, slaw and jazzy fries. Only thing I didnt really like was the slaw but everything else hands down was AMAZING!!!! The burnt ends just melt in your mouth, that jazzy sauce is addictive and they have a really good honey mustard as well. Also got the friend mushrooms, they use portobello mushrooms and they are a 10 out of 10 with the in house made ranch...... I will be going back, and it has me wanting this place over Jack stack and I grew up on Jack stack.“

“All I can say is WOW! My husband & I went here for the first time last Friday and from the moment we stepped it we had the best dining experience we’ve ever had in the Kansas City area. Our server was Kortney and she was nothing short of AMAZING. She was attentive and made sure we were happy with our experience. Our drinks were always refilled at the halfway point, she checked on us at all of the perfect times and it was clear she was on top of it! She was friendly, attentive, & provided some seriously top-notch service. We ordered the crap dip to start and oh my goodness it was so delicious we were tempted to order another or. The dip was overflowing the bowl and everything was so FRESH. My husband ordered the pork tenderloin wrapped in bacon and he said it was literally melting in his mouth. I ordered the roots burger and was impressed that someone could take a cheeseburger & make it THAT GOOD. We will absolutely be back! From the atmosphere to the service to the food - EVERY single aspect exceeded our expectations. We cannot recommend this place enough!“

“Stopping by for a sports event from out of town. I had miso, crab rangoon, potstickers, and a side of hibachi chicken. It was yummy. At the end they have complementary fried donuts. She made us feel right at home and my friend and I both went with her recommendations- a gluten free pizza for me and a regular pizza for her and accompanying desserts- all were delicious. I’m recently gluten free and I was excited to see they have an entire GF menu, with vegan options as well. I brought a pizza home for my husband (non GF) and he enjoyed his pizza very much. I wish they were open 7 days week so I wouldn’t have to eat at the other ones that never follow my instructions for my food prep. My food is always done to perfection here.“

“I typically avoid Tex-Mex — not enough authentic flavor, too much cheese overload — but JP's changed my mind on a solo Sunday dinner that turned into a full-blown love letter. The place was packed and loud, which told me everyone already knows what I somehow didn't: this spot is popular for a reason.
I squeaked in before the Happy Hour cutoff at 6 pm and got a great margarita for under $6. Most places I go charge at least double that. I was swinging my feet and humming with delight before my food even hit the table, and my wallet was thrilled too. This was a budget-friendly meal that didn't taste budget at all.
The chips and salsa? Light, airy, not overly salty. The perfect vehicle for the smoky, spicy salsa you have to ask for separately (the house salsa is mild and onion-forward, so mixing the two is the move). The chicken & avocado enchiladas were rich, cheesy, and packed with flavor — if you're an avocado-and-cream-sauce person, get your life with this dish! I had an entire enchilada left for lunch the next day, so the portions stretch your $ even further. My only gripe: the beans and rice felt like an afterthought — maybe two tablespoons each.
But the real headline here is my server, Katie. She was single-handedly running a HUGE party in my section and still checked on me multiple times, genuinely warm and attentive the entire time — never once looked frazzled by a section that would've stressed out most people. She even sent me home with fresh chips and salsa in my bag. Katie, if your manager is reading this: give this woman a raise. You're the moment, and JP's just became my new go-to hideout.“

“My favorite Taco via is actually in the Kansas City area over at 95 and Antioch although I like this one in Lee's Summit. Lee's Summit location is owned by different people and they don't put onion sauce on their combo burritos and the flat nachos that look like little tostados with cheese add hot peppers are a little different because they just put slices on theirs and the one over at 95th and Antioch chpps theirs into reality fine pieces. It's all a bit more open at the Antioch location and the Lee's Summit location still has plexiglass between you and the people taking your order like they need during covid and it's always freezing in there like no other. Don't get me wrong we go to Lee's Summit location when it's convenient but I come to Kansas City a lot from Warsaw and I'm doctoring at a lot of KU locations which are closer to the one that I've always liked the most since the beginning of time back when I was in high school! Back in the seventies! LOL“
