“Our dinner was very good. I got a beef brisket sandwich and fries. They have great cheesy corn, and potatoes are also good. We also got a fried mushroom appetizer, which was yummy. Our waitress was very attentive and got our refills right away also. They were super busy as it was a Friday night, but she was still great! The portions are really big. I ate that night, had leftovers for lunch the next day, and still didn't finish all of the food. Wish I could remember our waitresses name. It was her first night there but she was doing great!“

“Beer has gotten much better over the years. BBQ is alright, a little dry and plain as far as flavor but serviceable. Owner's father makes brown sugar bourbon which you can buy a bottle of at the restaurant, quite tasty. You can also get cigars here!“

“We went for a family meal and our experience was very good. The gold ticket goes for the bread and the cinnamon butter. I am vegetarian and they also have really nice selection for us.The portion of the dishes are big so you can share or take the left over at home.It is a bit pricey but worth it.“
“We ate out a week ago at a very expensive KC restaurant and spent stupid money. So this week, we did Longhorn. We split a ribeye, asparagus, Brussel sprouts, salad and shrimp. $85 with tip and everything tasted as good as the stupid expensive restaurant. My only critique is that the background music was a little loud, and the restaurant was a bit noisy. I live with the noisy to get this quality at this price point.“

“Sat at the bar for 10 plus minutes to place a to go order and I had to ask for a menu. When they see it's just 1 person and I don't believe in taking up a table for a family I sit at the bar. My steak was good and so was my broccoli but the loaded potato wasn't.“
“This is one of the best BBQ places around Kansas City. It is up there with Arthur Bryants and Gates. The food is good, although they seemed to run out of fries each time we went. Everybody has always seemed to enjoy whatever we get there, be it the ribs or some kind of sandwich. The most recent time I went, I got a ham sandwich, and I could maybe eat half of it. The portions are well sized. Since they ran out of fries a few orders ahead of us, I got the jalapeno poppers, which aren't really my thing. In my experience, the fries are just the normal kind of greasy fry you'd expect from a gem BBQ off some sketchy area in KC. The atmosphere got 4/5 because sometimes the ventilation doesn't work 100%, and the smoke from the big smoker fills up the place. Great place overall, reccomend you visit.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp on the inside if you'd like to easily get down to the floor to order food.“
“It had been several years since our last visit to Zarda BBQ. It was as good as we remembered. Food was delicious, portions generous, & cost reasonable for what you get. Great background music from the 70's and very friendly counter staff made this a fantastic visit. Plus they have Pepsi products!!!“

“Hubby had burnt ends - smoky and tender. I had the Texan platter but swapped out the regular burnt ends for today's special corned beef burnt ends with Irish sauce (spicy honey mustard like sauce) - delicious! Cheesy corn & white cheddar mac n cheese were creamy and delicious too. Will be back!“
“This is how a BBQ place should look like. Smokey, BBQ smell permeated into everything, no frills, no fuss. The BBQ was excellent. The sauce was ok, nothing like anywhere else. Had a tomato soup taste. Not too sweet. They don't do burnt ends daily, so I had the brisket and ribs. Both were very good. Wife had turkey, good, moist, and almost perfect. Try it I'm sure you'll like it as well. I do base my BBQ on as good, better than or worse than Rosedale, and I would pick Rosedale over this, but it has been around forever, they have to be doing something right.“
“Food absolutely great!!! Hard to tip employees when you place order and get all your own drinks,plates, refills and then clean up our table. Think employees would generate more and higher tips with better tableside service...jmo...food is the best though!!“
