“We visited Meat Mitch back in December and unfortunately had a disappointing experience, which led me to leave a negative Google review at the time. Shortly afterward, manager Becca Stout personally reached out, apologized, and provided us with a gift card, inviting us to return and give them another chance. I’m very glad we did. Our recent visit was excellent — the food was delicious, the service was friendly and attentive, and the overall experience was outstanding. This place contributes to the waistline of the locals. Some big people are in this fly-over town. The red bbq sauce SUCKS they would hang you in Texas for serving that mess. “This was an important dinner, my son who is 26, had surgery(had his tonsils removed) a couple days ago, and The recovery is described as one of the worst, and it feels like shards of glass in your throat.he has to eat soft food and he had Choices all over the Kansas City metro area. He chose Joe’s, Joe’s mac & cheese to be exact! We live on the Missouri side (Gladstone). So I decided to stop by this evening, and not only get a quart of mac & cheese for him, I grabbed dinner for myself (z-man w/ fries, ribs w/ red beans and rice, Mac and cheese) which I was reluctant to do, due to me having to drive 35 minutes home and I was worried that it was going to be Soggy and cold, Well, much to my surprise, the food was packed perfectly, my food was still hot, and my fries were still crispy! Thank you Joe’s in Leawood you did amazing! I will probably be back in the next couple of days to purchase more Joes mac & cheese! BTW this son of mine recommends Joes to everyone!! “Food is really good, I've ordered many times from them but my last order included an $8.25 fee for carry out supplies. They charge a percent of the entire bill. No where in the check out process do they tell you this. This seems excessive for 6 utensil packs and 5 takeout containers. Many other BBQ places with similar price points do not charge this fee. If you are going to charge extra fees be up front about it.“

“Chef J's BBQ was incredible! I was lucky enough to be able to order The Boss, therefore I got to try the Brisket and Jalapeno BBQ Sausage and both tasted fresh with the perfect amount of smoke. The ratio of fat and tender meat on the Brisket was perfect. My girlfriend and I showed up hungry and left with a full belly. The staff that work at Chef J's BBQ make you feel like your eating at home. 10 out of 10 experience!“

“Our service was fantastic. Kaylen, the manager, and our server went above and beyond to make sure we had a special evening. We had friends visiting from out of town and wanted to show them a great time, and they absolutely delivered.

“Six of us had dinner here yesterday and we were too busy enjoying the food and company to take photos. We did the meal family style to taste different dishes. What we ordered (we are not big in to lot of meat); Appetizers: Rangoons, 2xTiger Cry Beef and Papaya salad Drinks: Bottle of wine and cocktails Main dishes: Drunk noodle, Crab fried rice, Burnt end red curry, Seafood curry (cannot recall name), White rice (came along) Dessert: Bread pudding with ice cream Everything was so delicious! I had some green beans son had some of the huge famous beer battered potato wedges. Hot, fresh, tasty for $11.99. Both of us took decent amount home as well. “Came for my son's request Birthday dinner. Felt rushed, server kept trying too remove my wife's plate even though she wasn't finished. Called at 12:30pm and asked for a table ahead of time was told that the person that took my call would speak with the manager on that shift and would take care of the table request. Even said the time we would be attending. Didn't get that table that was requested. I understand that it is a first come first service situation. But was not told that when I called. I can say I am never disappointed when we come here. But this time Didn't feel the same way as we usually just show up. Food was great and my son was not disappointed.“

Beef & turkey were moist and flavorful, but the ribs were a bit dry. It is a wet BBQ, which I generally do not care for, but did not mind as I enjoyed their peppery sauce. I also enjoyed the fries, which were crisp on the outside but mash potato-like on the inside. Ladies behind the counter were not overly helpful, but other staff were exceptionally kind & helpful. Main eating area is dark, but you can sit in the light filled bar & watch the streetcar go by.“

“I recently stayed at the Sheraton in downtown Kansas City, and I have to say, the experience at the hotel restaurant, Spectators, was absolutely incredible. From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed with such warmth and professionalism by Mayleth. She escorted me to my table, gave excellent breakfast recommendations, and truly made me feel valued as a guest.

The breakfast itself was delicious, but what really stood out was the exceptional service. My waitress, Ziara, was just as amazing friendly, professional, always smiling, and genuinely engaging in conversation throughout the meal. Both of these ladies went above and beyond to create such a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere.

The ambiance at Spectators was calm, relaxing, and inviting. Honestly, it felt less like dining at a hotel restaurant and more like enjoying a meal at home with family. That kind of hospitality is rare to find.
